MAIN EVENT TIME, THE WOMEN TEAR THE HOUSE DOWN, PRIEST VS. ROLLINS, CENA'S BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, SAMI VS. BRON. THE MEN'S MITB MATCH IS STARTING US OFF - DAVE'S FULL MONEY IN THE BANK BLOG

By Dave Scherer on 2024-07-06 19:04:00

Welcome to my Money In The Bank PLE blog, thanks for reading!

Watching the pre-show, here are a few thoughts.

I loved the Michael Cole-Seth stuff.  It was really good work from both guys.

Jackie Redman is loving being home in Canada.  I love when talents get to go home like that.

The Canadian crowd will be lit.  If they are that crazy on the pre-game show, just wait until the show starts.

Every time they tell us how nice Naomi is (and in real life she is) I think about her interaction with Bayley and I wonder when she will turn on her.  They are trying to make us think it won't happen.  That makes me think that it will at some point.  If she wins tonight.....

Triple was shown in his limo and teased that he has some surprises tonight.  I would expect nothing less.

Near the end of the pre-show, they had some serious audio problems and we heard the arena feed over the panel.  Get that shit fixed WWE.  Good, you did.

They just brought out Trish Stratus as our host for the evening.  She dropped a "You're Welcome" for her reaction and they popped.  She's happy to be home.

She introduced Samantha Irvin to sing the National Anthem.  I like it, it's like an NHL game.  She did a great job!

They brought out Ryland James to sing O Canada, my favorite anthem.  Great song.  He did a great job.

Now, let's get the party started!

All four members of The Bloodline are her so those wondering about Jacob Fatu being about to wrestle, well I think Jey Uso tipped us off last night when he thanked Canada for allowing him to appear.

Then they showed Cody, huge pop.  Ditto for KO, who somehow found Zubaz shorts.  Hope your mom is OK KO, sincerely.  Another pop for Randy.

Then they showed Trish arriving, for those who just tuned in.  Seth arrived and got a big pop, the opposite of Damian Priest's arrival.

Cole welcomed us by saying, if I heard correctly, 19,458 fans.  That's a sell out folks!

We are starting out hot with the Men's Money in the Bank match.  My Drew Mac theory could come into play!

Jey Uso was out first to the typical Use reaction.  Cole mentioned that Sika was buried today (RIP Sika) and Jey wanted to be there, but Sika would have wanted him to be here.  Toronto is happy that Jey is in their city.

Andrade had to come out next.  And then LA Knight, so he was the cream in the Oreo pop cookie.  I think the fans are popping even more for LA than Jey.

Chad Gable is out next.  He got boos.

Side thought, isn't it amazing how WWE has gotten the fans to cheer for the faces and boo the heels?  Some smart mark types thought that could never happen.  That's why they are the vocal minority.

Melo was out next.  So that leaves one man.  And, one question: Do we SeeM Punk now, or SeeM Punk later?

And finally, Drew Mac.  The reaction to his music was loud, and then it turned into CM Punk chants.  That's when, if you are a booker, you know you are mining gold.  Almost 20,000 people are doing exactly what you want them to do, and they are doing it on their own volition.

This will shock you, they are starting out balls to the wall.  I know.  It doesn't shock you.

I can't do justice to the craziness that is going on.  These guys are bad, bad men.  It's plunder city in this match.  Constant action and craziness.

The Yeah-Yeet off on the ladder was cool.  The fans want one of these two.  Carmelo doesn't because he dumped them off of the ladder.

Crazy stuff.  Jey had it and Drew threw a ladder in his face and then went up and got the briefcase.  I got that one right.  Let's see if I get part two!

Sami Zayn beat Bron Breakker to retain the IC Title in a great match.  It was booked perfectly.  Bron got a ton in and showed how great he will be in the future.  These two delivered big time.  In the end, the vet beat the rookie, just how I thought it would go.  Great stuff.

Breaker reminds me of his uncle Scott so much more than he does his dad Rick.  Those are some great genes, for sure.

I apologize for the shorter recap but it was dinner time here on the east coast.

Trish Stratus brought out John Cena, who announced his impending retirement.  They are giving him a retirement tour, which he fully deserves.  I will see him, live, at Mania next year.  Cena seemed genuinely moved by the moment, as he should be.

Cena also said he will be taking any and all questions to kick off the post Mania press conference.  Good way to get people to tune in.

In the back, Damien Priest told The Judgment Day that he wanted to do it on his own tonight.  Finn Balor was not happy and said, sarcastically, OK BOSS after Priest left.

Time for Damien Priest to defend against Seth Rollins.  The challenger is out first.  He got the crowd to serenade him, of course.  The crowd loves him.  The champ is out next.

Drew McIntyre just tweeted out "I told you..."  Could I go three for three on my Tip Sheet predictions?
