We see CM Punk walk through the parking lot.
We take a look back at Smackdown's 'one on one' face off between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring.
Cody asks Chicago what do they want to talk about. Cody says he could say nothing and you get it. We are in the awkward, final two weeks when the time to talk is over and it is time for action. Cody says before Smackdown, Roman Reigns said a lot, particularly on the Pat McAfee show. Cody returns to Roman and the crowd boos. He says Roman called him a politician and he did the same on Smackdown and said that Cody made promises he couldn't keep. Cody says Chicago knows that when he makes a promise, he keeps it. There have been some unique asks. Someone had a sign asking if he can be their best man at their wedding. Cody does a hypothetical conversation with Brandi about going to the wedding and paying for the bachelor party. He talks about going to a fan's fifth birthday. Cody says he does this asking for nothing back.
Roman says this is desperation but that is not the case. He dresses the way he dresses and he talks the way he talks and acts like the champion because the champion is not here. Cody says he has said positive things about Roman, but he knows that Roman screwed him out of the biggest dream in his life. He might respect Roman, but he hates his guts. Cody says he understands if Roman hates him because you and your cousin can't have your wankfest at Wrestlemania. Cody says he has won the Royal Rumble two times. Cody knows that, after pointing at that sign, he can't do it alone. He says he asked for nothing back but he wants to ask for something back.
On April 6th, he asks if the fans will ride with him in their tag match. On April 7th, in what could be a fair fight, will you fight with him? Cody says he wants a moment with them. Cody says if he is going to point at that sign, he wants everyone else to point at that sign.
Cody says pointing at that sign means what he said. Two main events . . .
The Rock's music interrupts and he makes his way to the ring.
Cody and Rock stare at each other.
The crowd shows their approval of this image and the sound goes in and out.
The crowd chants for CM Punk, as is tradition in Chicago.
Rock puts his hands behind his back as he approaches Cody, but Cody does not reciprocate.
Rock whispers something to Cody.
Rock goes to the apron and the crowd acts like someone put a table under the ring.
Rock backs his way up the aisle and then heads to the back.
We see Ricochet jumping rope in the back as we go to commercial.
We go to Jackie Redmond and Rock walks past her and she stops him.
Jackie asks Rock what did he say to Cody Rhodes.
Rock tells Jackie to ask Cody and he walks away.
We go to THE Judgment Day CLUBHOUSE and they are playing darts. Rhea says she would have loved to have joined in and communication is key.
Priest tells JD to take care of Ricochet the way he can. Finn says he is sick of JD and Dom made to look like fools. Priest says he has a plan to have the advantage for Wrestlemania. JD says he has it under control. Rhea tells him to win.
JD and Dom go to the ring for JD's match.
Match Number One: JD McDonagh (with Dominik Mysterio) versus Ricochet
They lock up and JD with a clean break and Ricochet looks over his shoulder at Dom and that allows JD to hit him from behind. JD with a back elbow. Ricochet lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex and he hits a handstandcanrana followed by a drop kick to send JD to the floor. Dom pushes JD out of the way and Ricochet does the handspring into a superhero landing and then he hits a Fosbury flop on JD.
We go to commercial.
We are back and JD chops Ricochet in the corner. Ricochet with forearms. JD with a knee to the midsection and he applies a waist lock. Ricochet with back elbows to try to get out of the hold and Ricochet gets to the ropes. Ricochet with back elbows. JD with a uranage but he misses the moonsault. Ricochet with a handspring back elbow. Ricochet blocks a punch and he connects with forearms. Ricochet is sent to the apron but Ricochet with a shoulder and a springboard clothesline. Ricochet with a shooting star press for a near fall. Ricochet gets JD on his shoulders but JD blocks a Detonation Kick. JD with Spanish Fly for a near fall.
JD with a brainbuster for a near fall. JD puts Ricochet on the turnbuckles and he chops Ricochet. Ricochet with forearms and he sets for a Super Poisonrana and hits it. Ricochet with Recoil but Dom puts JD's foot on the ropes, even though it was under the ropes already. JD gets his knees up when Ricochet goes for a springboard 450 and JD gets a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and they exchange punches and kicks. JD with a clothesline and a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Ricochet kicks JD and he counters Devil Inside with a Destroyer. Ricochet goes up top and Dom gets on the apron. The referee has some words for Dom and Dom hits the top rope when he goes to the floor and it crotches Ricochet. The referee sends Dom to the back . JD goes up top and Ricochet knocks JD off the turnbuckles. Ricochet hits a shooting star cross body for the three count.
Winner: Ricochet
CM Punk walks in the back with a Cubs Legacy Title belt.
