COMPLETE RING OF HONOR FINAL BATTLE 2023 PPV COVERAGE

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of Ring of Honor Final Battle 2023 from Garland, Texas.

Our announcers are Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman.  They ran down the lineup.

They aired a video feature on Athena vs. Billie Starkz

Jasmin Allure vs. Taya Valkyrie with Johnny TV

They did the Code of Honor at the bell but Taya kicked her right into the corner and stomped away.  She controlled Allure an worked her over in the corner with chops.  Allure came back with a forearm and went for a wheel barrow takedown but was maneuvered into the ropes and drilled across the lower back.  Taya nailed a sliding German suplex and drilled Allure's face into the mat.

Taya nailed several clotheslines in the corner.  She drilled her in the corner with a Meteora for a two count.  Taya worked over Allure's arm but was caught with a series of elbows.  Allure nailed a series of forearms and a superkick.  She went to the top but was caught.  Taya nailed a superplex.  She followed up with a double underhook suplex.  Taya nailed the curb stomp and scored the pin.

They aired a piece on Keith Lee vs. Shane Taylor.

Marshall and Ross Von Erich vs. The Outrunners

It was all Von Erichs early.  The Outrunners caught Ross Von Erich and worked him over.  The crowd was very receptive to the Von Erichs.  Ross kept fighting out and going for the tag but was cut off.  He nailed a double mule kick to take in Marshall.  He cleaned house.  He avoided a double team and one of the Outrunners monkey flipped the other.  The Von Erichs nailed a double hip toss on one and drilled the other with a double dropkick.  They then did stereo claws.  The crowd loved it.

The Outrunners did a great job playing foil to the Von Erichs.

Kevin Von Erich came out to celebrate with his sons and looked SO happy to be there.

They aired a video on the ROH TV Championship Survival of the Fittest bout tonight.

Bryan Keith vs. Jack Cartwheel - Winner Advances to Survival of the Fittest

Big reaction for Keith, who has worked here locally for years.

Some super fun back and forth action early on.  Cartwheel nailed a moonsault for a two count.  Crowd really enjoyed all the cartwheels as it's a good gimmick.  He was flashy but Keith was all physical shots.  This was very much the spirit of early ROH with two talented performers showing what they had.  Cartwheel nailed a cartwheel into a Dragon Screw Legwhip.  You can't say he isn't creative.  

Keith tossed him out but Cartwheel landed on the apron and drilled him with a kick into the ring, scoring a near fall after a leaping elbow.  Cartwheel nailed a powerslam and carthweeled to his feet before trying to score a pin.  He was going to the top but Keith grabbed his leg.  Cartwheel kicked him and went to the top but Keith sat up and met him.  They battled back and forth with some truly fun action.  Inspired wrestling.

Keith was went to the floor.  Cartwheel nailed a great springboard twisting dive to the floor that elicited ROH chants.  Back in the ring, Keith nailed an enzigiuri.  He drilled Cartwheel with a big knee strike and a Tiger Driver for the pin.

I loved the hell out of this.

They aired a video piece on the Fight to Honor Jay Briscoe.

Tony Khan came out and talked about some of Jay Briscoe's major moments at past Final Battle events.  This was the site of Briscoe's last Final Battle appearance and Khan thanked everyone for being part of the legacy.  He pushed the show and told everyone they wouldn't want to miss the PPV.

Daniel Garcia vs. Blake Christian.

They locked up and ended up in the ropes, breaking clean.  They locked up again and ended up in the corner with Christian slapping Garcia.  Garcia drilled him with a back elbow.  They battled back and forth with forearms.  Garcia nailed a double underhook suplex.  Garcia drilled him with kicks but Christian kept fighting back.  He nailed a kick tto the face in the corner, then nailed a handspring into a wheelbarrow for a two count.   Blake peppered Garcia with forearms.  Garcia fought back with some brutal looking strikes.

He nailed a suplex into the corner.  Christian was placed atop the ropes and hung from the tree of woe.    Garcia nailed a big skateboard dropkick in the corner.  They battled back and forth.  Christian took him out and nailed a 619 in the ropes for a two count.  They went back and forth with some great sequences and are really working their asses off.

Christian went for a springboard 450 legdrop but Garcia snatched the leg and locked on an anklelock.  He rolled through and Garcia was sent to the floor.  Christian nailed a big dive to the floor.  He tossed Garcia in and nailed the springboard 450 splash for a close two count.  They battled back and forth until Garcia caught him in a Sharpshooter variation and scored the submission.

Absolutely excellent.

Backstage, ROH Champion Eddie Kingston wanted to fight tonight.  Anthony Henry came out and challenged him to a Proving Ground match.  Tony Khan made it official.
