WWE NXT NEW YEAR'S EVIL REPORT: TWO TITLE MATCHES, LAST WOMAN STANDING, THE DUSTY CLASSIC STARTS NEXT WEEK, AND MORE

Dexter Lumis 'welcomes' us to tonight's show and he walks up the steps to the sound board above the ring.  Dexter plays with some lights.  He sees a light switch and he pulls it and it transforms the show into New Year's Evil.

We are at the Capitol Wrestling Centre and your announcers are Beth Phoenix, Nigel McGuinness, and Vic Joseph.  Your host for tonight's show is Dexter Lumis.

Match Number One:  Damian Priest versus Karrion Kross (with Scarlett)

They lock up and they go around the ring and they continue the collar and elbow tie up to the floor and against the fencing and plexiglass.  Kross misses kicks and Priest misses some kicks as well.  Priest with the first kick that connects and he punches Kross in the corner.  Priest with more punches.  Kross blocks a kick and he gets Priest up for a spinebuster.  Priest tries to get back to his feet but he collapses to the mat.  Kross with punches in the corner.  Kross with an Irish whip and clothesline into the corner.  Kross with another Irish whip and clothesline.  Kross with an exploder.  Kross with a surfboard.  Kross sends Priest to the floor.

Kross sends Priest into the ring steps.  Kross picks up the steps and Priest kicks Kross and Kross drops the steps.  Kross with a knee and he sends Priest back into the ring.  Kross with punches to the midsection.  Priest with a kick and a punch but Kross stays on his feet while Priest goes to the mat.  Priest with punches.  Priest with an elbow into the corner and he goes for the Broken Arrow but he cannot get Kross up due to the injury to his ribs.  Priest with a clothesline and he hits the Broken Arrow for a near fall.  Priest misses the Cyclone kick and Kross goes shoulder first into the turnbuckles.  Priest with a Divorce Court and he applies an arm bar submission.

Kross with elbows to the midsection.  Priest with a forearm and Kross with punches.  Priest and Kross exchange boots to the chest and kicks to the arm and midsection.  Priest with a springboard senton into Kross.  Priest misses an elbow into the corner and Kross with a running clothesline for a near fall.  Kross stomps on the hand and then the ankle.  Kross puts Priest in the tree of woe.  Kross kicks Priest in the corner and then Kross pulls down the knee pad and he hits a running knee to the ribs.  Kross goes to the turnbuckles and sets for the Super Doomsday Saito but Priest with elbows to stop Kross.  Priest with a head butt and kick to Kross.  

Priest goes for a Razor's Edge and he hits it.  Priest gets a near fall.  Priest goes for a choke slam to drop Kross on the apron but Kross avoids it.  Priest knocks Kross off the apron to the floor and then Priest hits the springboard flip onto Kross.  They return to the ring and Priest goes up top and hits a spinning heel kick.  Priest hits South of Heaven but he can only get a near fall.  Priest sets for the Reckoning but Kross with an exploder and shoulder into the corner.  Kross iwth a power bomb and he gets a near fall.  Priest rolls to the floor and Kross follows and Priest hits Kross with a series of cyclone kicks but Kross stays on his feet.  Kross catches Priest on another spinning heel kick and Kross sends Priest into the tower and then he hits a power slam onto the ring steps.

Priest tells Kross he is still standing and Kross with a kick and Doomsday Saito followed by a forearm to the back of the head for the three count.

Winner:  Karrion Kross

We go to commercial.

We are back and we see some of the teams in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.  The tournament starts next week.  The tournament will include Imperium, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza, Killian Dain and Drake Maverick, The Undisputed Era, Ever Rise, Curt Stallion and August Grey, and Breezango.

Adam Cole and Roderick Strong are told that they will face Breezango in the first round of the Dusty Classic.  They are asked about the big night for the Undisputed Era.  Cole says every night is a big night for the Undisputed Era.  They had their prophecy last year and they will win the gold this year as well.  Breezango are former champions but Cole says they are better.  Tonight starts the prophecy when Kyle O'Reilly fulfills his destiny and become the NXT Champion.

We see the Grizzled Young Veterans in the crowd.

Match Number Two:  Santos Escobar (with Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza) versus Gran Metalik (with Lince Dorado) for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship

They lock up and Metalik with a clean break.  They lock up and Escobar backs Metalik into the corner and misses a punch when Metalik moves.  Metalik with a head scissors but Escobar with  a leg sweep and cover.  Metalik with a leg sweep and cover.  Metalik with a head scissors and he teases a dive to the floor and bounces off the ropes.  Escobar with a kick and Metalik with a handspring back flip.  Metalik with a wrist lock and he hits a rana.  Escobar with a chop to send Metalik off the apron.  Metalik with a cross body onto Escobar and then he hites a springboard senton for a near fall.  Metalik with an accordion slam and he goes for a moonsault but rolls through when Escobar moves.

Metalik with a kick to Esocbar and he goes to teh apron.  Metalik goes to the ropes and tries for a rana but Escobar catches Metalik and then sends Metalik into the ringside barrier.  Escobar with a bow and arrow around the ring post.  Escobar kicks Metalik in the back.  Escobar gets a near fall.  Escobar with a single leg crab.  Escobar with kicks to the back.  Escobar with a tilt--a-whirl back breaker for a near fall.  Escobar puts Metalik on the turnbuckles and Escobar with an enzuigiri.  Escobar goes to the turnbuckles and gets Metalik on his shoudlers and he drops Metalik onto the turnbuckles.

Escobar gets a near fall.  Escobar sets for a surfboard and he gets Metalik up.  Escobar with an elbow to the back.  Metalik gets away from Escobar and then gets a sunset flip for a near fall.  Escobar with a clothesline for a near fall.  Metalik with a thrust kick and a spinning bulldog.  Metalik with a springboard drop kick and Escobar goes to the floor.  Metalik with a springboard flip onto Escobar.  Metalik with a springboard splash for a near fall.  Metalik with a chop but Escobar with an Irish whip.  Metalik with a knee and he goes for a springboard move but Escobar with a jumping knee.  Escobar with a suicide dive onto Metalik.

Escobar gets a near fall.  Metalik blocks Legado and Escobar with a forearm.  Escobar puts Metalik on the turnbuckles and Escobar with a chop.  Escobar pulls at the mask and it comes loose.  Escobar drops Metalik from the turnbuckles tot he apron.  Metalik with a chop and Dorado with a splash onto Wilde and Mendoza.  Metalik with a hurricanrana from the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Escobar stops Metalik when Metalik goes up top.  Escobar with Legado followed by the Phantom Driver for the three count.

Winner:  Santos Escobar (retains championship)

Rhea Ripley is in the back and she is preparing for her match against Raquel Gonzalez.

We see Raquel Gonzalez getting ready as we go to commercial and Xia Li is next.

We are back and Mercedes Martinez says it feels good to be back.  You didn't look like the Performer of the Year when I sent you through the table.  The only title I care about is the Women's Title.  I'm waiting on ya.

Match Number Three:  Xia Li (with Boa and Mysterious Leader) versus Katrina Cortez

Cortez with a waist lock.  Xia with a chop and round kick to the temple.  Xia bows to the Boss and she connects with knees and a back heel kick.  Cortez with a punch to the midsection and Xia blocks punches and kicks and hits a jumping knee followed by a jumping round kick for the three count.

Winner:  Xia Li

After the match, Xia and Boa bow to their leader and they disappear in the smoke.

Vic mentions that the Fight Pit match will not happen tonight due to an injury suffered by Timothy Thatcher.  He could not be medically cleared to fight.  When Thatcher is cleared, we will have the Fight Pit.

We go to Bronson Reed with McKenzie Mitchell.  Bronson said he was at home with an injury and it made him more savage.  He is putting the whole place on notice.  This will be a Colossal year.  Bronson says he has his money on Rhea Ripley for the Last Woman Standing Match.
