COMPLETE ROH HONOR RISING NIGHT TWO IN TOKYO COVERAGE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-02-20 07:09:00

ReDragon & Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Bullet Club's Tama Tonga & Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson & Bad Luck Fale in Gallows & Anderson's final appearance in a NJPW ring.

Everyone brawled at the bell.  Anderson and O'Reilly were left in the ring when it all settled down and Anderson was worked over.  Goto tagged in but Anderson backed off.   He tagged in Fale.  Fale tried to bully Goto, who wasn't having it and kicked him in the gut.  Goto got grabbed and pulled out of the ring by Anderson, who whopped him into the guard rails.  At the same time, Fale attacked Bobby Fish and beat him down near the stage of Korakuen Hall.

The Bullet Club worked over Goto, who finally kicked them away and returned to the ring at the 19 count, just avoiding getting counted out.  The beating had done its damage, however, and Fale overwhelmed and slammed him.  Goto found himself trapped in the Bullet Club's corner, where he was beaten down.  Gallows tagged in and killed him with a series of elbow after elbow.

Anderson nailed Goto with a running back elbow and scored several two counts.  Tonga tagged in.  His work is crisp as hell.  He nailed a great running dropkick and went for a cover but Shibata hit the ring and broke up the pinfall.  Goto caught Tonga with a clothesline and Shibata wanted to be tagged in but Goto just glared at him as Fish tagged himself back in.  It was time for the ReDragon show as they hit all their tag team spots on Tonga.

O'Reilly nailed a pescado over the the top onto Anderson.  Fish and Tonga went back and forth with some good action.  Shibata and Gallows tagged in.  Shibata took it to Gallows and worked him over in the corner but was kicked charging into it.  Shibata came back with a running kick to the legs that took him down and went for the figure four leglock but Anderson intercepted him.  Bullet Club hit  the ring and worked over everyone.  It broke down with everyone hitting big moves on the other.

Goto caught Anderson with a DVDR to an over the knee backbreaker.  Gallows took him out.  Shibata attacked but Gallows nailed hit sitdown slam for a close two count.  Gallows went for a suplex but Shibata escaped and came down, locking in a suplex from behind.  Gallows went down to his knees.  Shibata let go, rebounded off the ropes and nailed a shining wizard to the face and scored the pin.

Your winners, ReDragon & Hirooki Goto & Katsuyori Shibata!

A frenzied brawl with some really good action.  Shibata getting the win over Gallows elevates him and makes sense.

The rest of the Bullet Club checked on Gallows after the bout.  The crowd chanted for Gallows.  The BC all hugged in the ring as the crowd chanted for them.  Tonga and Fale bowed before Anderson and Gallows and left the ring.  The crowd chanted for Anderson.  He and Gallows bowed before each side of the crowd.    They got on their hands and knees and paid respect to the ring before hugging each other.  They showed a woman in the crowd crying.  Anderson looked like he was going to break down as he left the ring.  Gallows took a moment to take it all in before heading to the back.  A nice moment.

KUSHIDA & Moose vs. Tetsuya Naito & BUSHI.

Moose came out carrying KUSHIDA on his shoulders.  Crowd was really into the Moose chant.    BUSHI did his darndest to try and well, do anything but only got tossed aside.  Naito tagged in but was backed against the ropes.  He slapped Moose, who charged.  Naito ducked down and pulled the ropes so Moose went over the top to the floor.  N aito teased a dive but instead mocked Moose.

When Moose returned to the ring, BUSHI and Naito double-teamed him but Moose hit the buckles and came off with a flying bodypress, wiping them out.  His athletic potential is nuts.  KUSHIDA tagged in and tried to bring the razzle dazzle with some hot offense but EVIL grabbed him and pulled him to the floor, slamming him backwards into the guard rail.  EVIL and BUSHI worked him over.

KUSHIDA was tossed back into the ring, where now Naito could have complete control of him and worked hom over.  KUSHIDA was nailed with an inverted atomic drop.  BUSHI tagged in and kicked him.  BUSHI worked him over and then antagonized Moose, forcing the referee to have to be distracted by removing him.  That allowed Naito and BUSHI to double-team KUSHIDA.

BUSHI locked in a chinlock as the crowd rallied KUSHIDA.    BUSHI used his shirt to choke his opponent.  KUSHIDA took the beating until he was able to nail an enziguiri and tag in Moose, who began laying waste to everyone involved.  Moose ran back and forth hitting clotheslines in the opposite corners.  Naito tried to kick him off while on the buckles but Moose absorbed it and nailed a dropkick that sent Naito to the floor. KUSHIDA got on his shoulders (think Jimmy Snuka with Andre the Giant) and dove off to the outside.

This left Moose in the ring with BUSHI.  Moose speared him and that was it.

Your winners, Moose & KUSHIDA!

Another good match.  They laid this out correctly to showcase Moose as a monster and to have KUSHIDA getting all the sympathy.  Naito and BUSHI played their roles well.  Good story.

Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin & Roderick Strong vs. YOSHI-HASHI & ROH TV champion Tomohiro Ishii & IWGP champion Kazuchika Okada.

All six faced off in the ring before the bell.  Ishii and Strong went face to face.  Elgin and Okada opened up.  They ended up in the ropes.  Okkada teased nailing him but backed off.  Elgin went right after him and was nailed.  He absorbed it and wiped out Okada with a big clothesline.  Okada fought back and went for a suplex but Elgin was too strong and heavy.  Elgin pressed and slammed him and hit a big running clothesline in the corner before holding the champ for a long delayed vertical suplex.  HASHI and Ishii hit the ring and kicked him but it had no effect.  Tanahashi and Strong hit the ring, setting up a big stereo triple suplex spot.

Egin brought Okada to the corner and teased tagging Tanahashi but Okada escaped and tgged in Ishii. Tanahashi still tagged in and they locked up.  Tanahashi maneuvered him into a full nelson then brought HASHI down to the mat.  Tanahashi shoulderblocked him down and ran HASHI into the corner.  They exchanged forearm shots back and forth.  HASHI took his legs out from under him as he rebounded off the ropes and they battled to the floor.

Tanahashi was tossed back into the ring.  Ishii was tagged in and Strong wanted to be tagged in the worst way.  He hit the ring and chopped Ishii and they had a quick exchange before he was stomped out of the ring.  Teassedm Okada continued tagging in and out working over Tanahashi.  Okada mocked Elgin, who wasn't happy about it.  Ishii continues to work over Tanahashi, who makes the mistake of trying to headbutt him.  Tanahashi finally gets the chance to tag but Okada and HASHI knock his opponents off the apron.  No reprieve for Tanahashi yet.

Tanahashi continues to get trashed but snaps Ishii with a Dragon Screw Legwhip.  Strong tags in and hit the ring all pissed.  He looks awesome going back and forth with Okada, Ishii and HASHI.  He nails several running knees on Ishii and then a gutbuster for a two count.  He and Ishii exchange stiff chops.  Strong gets caught in a powerslam.  They have some great physical exchanges and near falls.

Okada tags in but is caught with a backbreaker variation.  Strong is clobbered with an Ishii clothesline.  Egin and HASHI tag in.  Elgin kills him with a big release German suplex.  He just murders HASHI with some rude offense but HASHI still somehow kickcs out.  Everyone hits the ring and it's breaking down in Tokyo.

Team Okada tries to triple team Elgin, who battles valiantly against them all.  It comes down to Elgin and HASHI.  Elgin batters him but is caught with a clothesline for a two count.  HASHI goes to the top but Strong wipes him out.  Tanahashi nails Okada with a leaing forearm.  Elgin goes to the ropes and muscles up HASHI for a superplex,  He covers him for the pin but Okada breaks it up at the last second.  Elgin presses Tanahashi and sends him to the outside, wiping out Ishii and Okada,

HASHI fires back with a superkick on Elgin but is murdered with a rude lariat. Elgin goes for a powerbomb but its turned into a sunset flip for a two count.  Pissed off, Elgin nails a buckle bomb and then a sitdown powerbomb for the pin.

Your winners, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Michael Elgin & Roderick Strong!

Really good six man tag with tons of physicality.  They had a little tease of Tanahashi and Okada, they built the Ishii-String rivalry and Elgin got to look like a beast while HASHI gets some points for enduring that beating.

Strong grabbed the TV title from Ishii, which led to a short brawl before everyone held them apart.    Ishii left but Strong did something to disrespect him and Ishii charged the ring again.  They had a pull apart.  The crowd chanted "ROH."
