By Mike Johnson on 2015-05-15 19:15:26
Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling's Global Wars 2015 iPPV, which you can order now at www.ROHWrestling.com.

Global Wars opened up with a nice promotional video before we went live to the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Canada.  Announcers Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino welcomed us.  You could see immediately the lighting was far better than the last time they taped in Toronto as they brought a lighting truss in.

Silas Young & Watanabe vs. Moose (with Veda Scott & Stokely Hathaway) & Gedo

Gedo refused to shake hands, per the code of honor.  They locked up.  Watanabe used his power early but Gedo poked him in the eye and used a drop toehold.  Watanabe came back with a series of strikes but was kicked down by Gedo.  Young tagged in, questioning his partner as to what the hell went wrong.

Moose used his power to thwart Young's attempts to take him down.  Young tried to suplex him but it was reversed.  Moose drilled him with a HIGH dropkick.   Gedo tagged in but was taken down as Young and Watanabe tagged in and out, working him over.  Gedo almost made a tag out but Moose was knocked off the apron.    Gedo finally got the tag and as Corino said, The Moose was loose.

Moose cleaned house on his opponents and nailed a leaping splash on each before hitting a flying bodypress off the ropes for a two count.  He missed a splash in the corner as all four brawled in the ring.  Young missed an Arabian Press.   Watanabe went for a belly to back suplex but Moose avoided it.  He was drilled with a forearm and nailed, then hit with a suplex.  He went for a lariat but was caught with one by Moose for a two count.

Young, upset at Watanabe, began berating him, only to turn into a Moose spear for the pin.

Your winners, Gedo & Moose!

Solid opener.  Moose's sheer athletic ability continues to impress.  Everyone did their role perfectly here.  Veda Scott looked great as usual and Hathaway had his awesome facial expressions.

After the match, Young clotheslined Watanabe, angry over losing.

They aired a video feature on the debut of Chris Sabin and The Addiction winning the ROH Tag Team titles.

Chris Sabin vs. Kyle O'Reilly vs. KUSHIDA

They said Bobby Fish's flight was delayed so Kyle was going alone tonight.  All three showed aggression to the other.  Sabin nailed Kyle from behind but KUSHIDA got immdiately involved.   All three exchanged armdrags and tried to dropkick the others at the same time before facing off.  They battled back and forth.  Sabin set up KUSHIDA and tied him to the tree of woe, then suplexed Kyle into him.  O'Reilly went to the floor, leaving Sabin to continuen working over KUSHIDA.

Sabin stomped KUSHIDA's face.  The crowd got all over Sabin, catcalling him.  He locked in a straightjacket chinlock submission but Kyle returned with a flurry of kicks.   He then cinched in a hanging armbar over the ropes but left himself open for Sabin, on the floor, to kick him in the face.  Sabin went after KUSHIDA in the ring and scored a two count.

KUSHIDA made a comeback and drilled his opponents with kicks, then nailed a double pumphandle on the ropes.   He nailed a Backlund Bridge as he suplexed Sabin, scoring stereo two counts on both.  KUSHIDA locked in a keylock on Sabin but Kyle cinched in a guillotine choke.    The crowd chanted, "This is wrestling."

O'Reilly caught KUSHIDA with a Regalplex for a two count.   He went for a brainbuster as Sabin returned to the ring.  Sabin caught him with a kick and a DDT.  Sabin contnrolled both.  KUSHIDA was nailed with an enziguiri.   Sabin was nailed with a b rainbuster for a two and locked in a cross armbreaker.  KUSHIDA went to the top and hit a moonsault on Kyle.  The crowd chanted for "KUSHIDA."

KUSHIDA went for Sliced Bread #2 but Sabin caught him and used KUSHIDA as a battering ram on Kyle.  Sabin went for a Michinoku Driver but KUSHIDA turned it into a keylock submission, cinched it in and scored the submission.

Your winner KUSHIDA!

Very well done athletic match with tons of fast paced wrestling, strikes and submissions.  Exactly what it needed to be.

Sabin left disgusted as KUSHIDA and O'Reilly showed respect to each other.

IWGP Tag Team champions The Kingdom (with Maria Kanellis) vs. Matt Sydal & Jushin Liger

Tiger Hatori was the referee.

Taven's all around charisma and precense in the ring has really improved as a member of The Kingdom.  He and Sydal started and went back and forth, exchanging moves on the mat before going into a series of reversals and facing off.  Liger tagged in and faced off with Bennett but was quickly overwhelmed and double teamed by the champions.

Sydal tagged in and the Kingdom ended up on the floor.  Liger went for a dive but Maria got on the apron and disracted him with her feminine wiles.    The Kingdom tried to attack him but he nailed palm thrusts and clotheslines.  Liger strutted to Maria and she motorboated him.  Liger was thrilled until Kingdom hit a double superkick on him.  Sydal cleaned house and went for a shooting star press on Bennett but Taven superkicked him while he was in the rotation.  Holy crap, that was awesome.  The Kingdom nailed The Hail Mary on Sydal for the pin.

Your winners, The Kingdom!

Good, solid match with some funny comedy involving Liger and Maria.
