Dolph Ziggler & LayCool vs John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki
LayCool rushes Trish and Snooki right away and Dolph and Morrison pull them apart, and Dolph gets in Snooki's face so she slaps him. Michelle shoves Layla out of the way and goes face to face with Trish and shoves her. Trish lays in a few stiff chops, ducks a clothesline with the Matrix but McCool stomps her out of the bridge and goes for the Styles Clash. Trish blocks and pulls herself up into a front bulldog. Michelle with a back elbow and then goes up top, and Trish goes for the handstand Frankensteiner, but Michelle blocks and hauls Trish up and they duke it out on the top rope and tumble off the corner and to ringside. Layla comes over to get involved and then checks on Michelle, but Trish recovers and hits a dive off the apron. Michelle tries to punt Trish on her way back into the ring but Trish dodges and McCool kicks Layla, and Trish hits the Trish kick but Ziggler breaks it up. Morrison comes in and knocks Dolph to the floor and hits Starship Pain to the floor, then Trish tags Snooki in and she hits a cartwheel elbow into the corner on Michelle and then a backflip into a splash on Michelle for the win.
Winners: John Morrison, Trish Stratus & John Morrison
It was there. I liked that Trish got to make her Wrestlemania return and did some great stuff with Michelle McCool, but having Snooki get the win was just ridiculous.
It's main event time, and we see a video package of Miz watching Hogan, Flair, Austin and Michaels in his youth, his time on the Real World, his beginning as the host of Smackdown, and eventually his victory over Randy Orton for the WWE Title. Miz makes his entrance and you can see on his face that everything he's done in his entire life has been for this moment. A choir comes out to sing, and then we see a video package of John Cena through the years from his youth and through the years of his career, then it's back to the choir for more singing and Cena comes tearing out of the back and to the ring. The introductions go off, the bell rings (twice, in fact), and it's time for the main event.
WWE Title Match: The Miz vs John Cena
They circle each other and tie up in the middle of the ring, and Cena rolls Miz across the ring. Another tie up and Miz goes to a headlock, Cena fires Miz off to the ropes and Miz takes ihm down with a shoulderblock. Miz off the ropes again and hiptosses Miz to a pretty big round of boos from the crowd. They go to a Greco-Roman knucklelock and Cena goes to a side headlock and Miz backs him to the corner and suckerpunches Cena on the break and starts putting the boots to him. Miz whips Cena hard to the corner and Cena goes down in a heap. Miz charges in with a diving clothesline and Cena goes down again, Miz covers and only gets 2. Miz unloads with left hands and tells Cena to stay down, but Cena gets a knee to the gut and then a salto gets 2. Cena charges Miz and Miz catches him coming in and hits the Side Effect for 2. Miz backs off and waits for Cena to regain his footing and goes for the diving clothesline again, but Cena moves and Miz crashes into the corner. Cena htis a top rope Fameasser for 2, then charges Miz in the corner but Miz dodges and Cena hits hard. Miz comes off the ropes with a stomp to the face and covers for 2, then waits for Cena to get up again and hits a Yakuza Kick for 2. Cena is on his knees holding onto Miz to stay up, but Miz keeps drilling him in the face and soccer kicks him in the ribs. Miz whips Cena to the ropes and drops down and Cena goes for a crossbody and hits nothing, crashing hard. Miz baseball slides Cena to the floor then puts him on the apron and rocks him with a kneelift and goes back in the ring for a 2 count. Cena slowly pulls himself up and hits a flying shoulderblock, then another, and a Blue Thunder Driver. Cena does you can't see me and hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle, then goes for the Attitude Adjuster but Miz slips out and spikes Cena with a DDT for 2. Cena gets a drop toehold and goes for the STF, but Miz slips out and hits a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo for 2. Miz pulls the cover off the top turnbuckle and the referee catches him, and the referee goes to put the pad back on and misses Cena catching Miz in a small package, and only turns around in time for 2. The turnbuckle still seems exposed, but Cena goes for the Attitude Adjuster again, Miz gets out, and Cena catches him in the STF. Miz crawls and makes the ropes, and Alex Riley grabs Cena and rams him into the exposed turnbuckle, and Miz quickly hits the Skull Crushing Finale, but only gets 2. Miz sets Cena up for another Skull Crushing Finale, but Cena shoves him off and right into the ref, knocking him out. Cena finally hits the Attitude Adjustment, but no ref. Cena goes to check on the ref but turns around and Alex Riley cracks him in the face with the briefcase. Miz crawls over and covers Cena, but only gets 2. Superman Lives! Riley distracts the referee as Miz grabs the briefcase and goes after Cena with it, but Cena moves, Miz hits Riley, and Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment and only gets 2. Miz rolls out to the floor and Cena goes out, gets in a four point stance, charges Miz, and clotheslines him over the barricade and into the crowd. Miz tries to get back over the barricade but Cena runs at him again and tackles him into the crowd and both men are out. The referee counts 10 and calls for the bell.
Double Countout
Suddenly, Rock's music hits and he comes striding out with an angry look on his face. He gets in the ring, and suddenly the Mystery GM sends an email. JR starts to get up, but Rock motions for him to sit down and he goes over to read the email himself. He says it doesn't matter what the Mystery GM thinks, and he says he's the host of Wrestlemania and there's no way Wrestlemania is over, and that this match must restart right now, with no DQ, no countout, and no way the match ends like that. He says we can take the double countout, the Mystery GM, the Fruity Pebbles, and everything else, turn them sideways, and stick them straight up their candy ass!
Restarted WWE Title Match: The Miz vs John Cena
Cena quickly tosses Miz back in the ring and goes for the Attitude Adjustment but Miz slips out, so Rock hits Rock Bottom and slides out of the ring. Miz crawls over and covers Cena and gets 3!
Winner: The Miz
Rock stares bacck into the ring as Miz celebrates with the title, then the music stops and we just hear the fans chanting Rocky's name. Rock rushes back in the ring and goes after the Miz, unloading on him in the corner and laying the smackdown on him as well. Rock hits the spinebuster and then stares at the fans who all know what's coming. He sets it up, hits the ropes, and delivers the People's Elbow! The last thing we see as Wrestlemania goes off the air is the Rock standing tall in the ring and soaking in the crowd reaction.
