World Champion Chris Benoit vs. Triple H.
They locked up, and the referee forced a clean break on the ropes as they two started trash talking each other. Benoit went for an arm, but Triple H shoved him away. Benoit and Triple H traded arm holds, with Benoit shoving Triple H to the mat. The crowd started a "Let's Go Benoit" chant. They traded headlocks and headscissors, then shoved each other. Triple H hit a shoulderblock, sending Benoit down. Triple H grabbed a side headlock, but Benoit hiptossed him and went for the Crossface. Triple H broke away before it was applied and rolled to the floor. Benoit followed, chopping Triple H and ramming him into the security wall. Back in the ring, Triple H hit a jumping knee and a vertical suplex. Triple H hit a second suplex, and Benoit responded with some chops. Triple H kicked Benoit in the gut and hit a clothesline for a two count. Triple H hit a side backbreaker, then pulled Benoit to the floor by his tights as Benoit started throwing forearms.
Triple H rammed Benoit back first into the ring apron, then tossed him back into the ring. Benoit fired off some chops and booted a charging Triple H, then delivered another flurry of chops. Benoit hit a snap suplex, then pounded Triple H in a corner. Benoit ran into a Triple H elbow, but Benoit ducked a clothesline and hit a German suplex. Triple H elbowed out of a waistlock to prevent the second German, but Benoit grabbed Triple H in a catapult into the corner, then clotheslined Triple H over the top rope and to the floor. Outside, Triple H poked Benoit in the eyes, but Benoit reversed a whip and sent Triple H into the ringsteps. Benoit tossed Triple H back in and went to the top rope. Benoit missed the top rope headbutt, and both men were slow to get up. Benoit hit some chops, but Triple H whipped Benoit hard into the turnbuckles. Triple H whipped Benoit hard again, with Benoit running top speed into the buckles chest first.
Triple H kicked Benoit in his now weakened sternum, and dropped a knee. Triple H hit a released reverse vertical suplex, tossing Benoit forward so he would land on his chest. Triple H covered Benoit for a two count, then stomped the sternum. Triple H delivered another released suplex, tossing Benoit chest first to the mat again for another two. Triple H then applied a surfboard, and we could see that there was blood in the mouth of Benoit. Benoit broke out, but Triple H sidestepped him as he charged, and flung Benoit over the top rope and to the floor. Triple H whipped Benoit into the security wall, again, chest first. Back in the ring, Triple H whipped Benoit chest first into the buckles again, then covered him twice for two counts. Benoit chopped Triple H, but Triple H grabbed an abdominal stretch.
Benoit struggled in the hold, then reversed the hold, putting Triple H in an abdominal stretch. Triple H hiptossed out, and applied a sleeper. Benoit slumped to one knee, then down to both. Benoit got up and shoved off the hold, and grabbed his own sleeper. Triple H tried to back suplex out, but Benoit floated over, tripped Triple H, and went for a Sharpshooter. Triple H kicked it away, and went for a Pedigree, but Benoit tripped him, and went for the Sharpshooter again, this time applying it. Triple H went for the ropes, but Benoit brought him back into the middle of the ring. Triple H powered up and got to the ropes to break the hold. Benoit went for a German suplex, Triple H shoved him away, but Benoit ducked a clothesline and then hit three consecutive German suplexes.
Benoit signaled for the top rope headbutt, but Triple H was rolling away. Benoit got down from the ropes as Triple H rolled out of the ring. Benoit dove through the ropes and hit a tope on Triple H. Both men were down on the floor, but Benoit got up first and tossed Triple H back in. Triple H went for a forearm, but Benoit ducked and Triple H knocked the referee from the ring. Benoit went for a Crossface, but Triple H blocked it and hit a DDT. Triple H started yelling for Eugene. Eugene came out on the stage, and slowly walked to the ring, looking confused. Triple H was saying something to Eugene, and Benoit grabbed Triple H in the Crippler Crossface. Benoit yelled for Eugene to get the ref as he held Triple H in the hold. Triple H tried to roll out, but Benoit maintained the hold. Triple H was tapping, but there was no referee. Eugene started to get into the ring, and Benoit ran over and knocked him off the apron. Benoit yelled "Eugene, I told you!". Triple H hit Benoit with a low blow from behind, then delivered a Pedigree. Triple H yelled for Eugene to get the referee. Eugene listened to Triple H, rolling in the referee. The referee slowly counted, but Benoit kicked out at two.
Eugene went and got a chair, as the referee slumped back down on the mat. Eugene gave Triple H the chair, but then grabbed it back. Triple H and Eugene argued, and Triple H shoved Eugene to the floor, saying "You do what I tell you to." Benoit charged Triple H, shoving the chair into his face. Benoit picked up the chair. Ric Flair and Batista ran in, but Benoit took them down with chairshots. Eugene got into the ring, and Benoit screamed for him to leave. Benoit went to hit Triple H with the chair, but Triple H cut him off. Triple H picked up the chair, but Benoit him him with a low blow. Benoit and Triple H were both down, and Eugene picked up the chair. Eugene stood over both Benoit and Triple H, but couldn't bring himself to hit either man with the chair. Benoit got up and grabbed the chair, and had a tug of war with Eugene over it. Benoit let go of the chair, and as Eugene pulled back, he accidentally hit Triple H with the chair. Eugene went to the floor, saying "He's going to be mad at me". Benoit rolled up Triple H and got the pin at the twenty nine minute mark.
Winner: Chris Benoit.
Chris Benoit walked to the top of the runway and held his title belt overhead, as Triple H sat in the ring holding his head from the chairshot. Benoit walked off, as Triple H turned his attention to Eugene at ringside. Eugene kept saying "I'm sorry, don't be mad at me" as Triple H just glared at Eugene in anger as the show came to a close.
