At the end of the match, all four men bow kneel in a circle. Umino tells Tanahashi to leave Hontai in his hands. Tanahashi looks at him and at Uemura and bows.
The leadership of Hontai will be a story following Wrestle Kingdom. The questions still remain: 1) who will fill Hiroshi Tanahashi's role in Hontai, and 2) will that person be a draw for the Japanese fans?
8 - Hiromu Takahashi and David Finlay vs. OSKAR and Yuto-Ice
Good match. Both teams worked very stiff.
Finlay tagged himself in. Knockout Brothers did not see it and continued to beat down Hiromu. Yuto hit a running boot to Hiromu's head. Finlay rolled up Yuto into a pin.
Hiromu Takahashi and David Finlay have 2 points.
Knockout Brothers have 0 points.
Finlay sold it that he showed the Knockout Brothers mercy. Hiromu sold Yuto's finisher at the end of the match. Finlay promised to not show any other teams any mercy.
It was a match New Japan had to get out of the way. Finlay getting the pin on Yuto made sense and they sold it like Finlay is the senior and beat the new members. However, they have pushed Knockout Brothers as killers, and they lost to makeshift tag team. Hopefully, Yuto and OSKAR will continue to beat everyone else in B Block in killer fashion.
