Episode 10

After a short recap of the last episode, Bubba Ray is with BJ Ray and Cutler James. He tells BJ to sit next to James. Bubba Ray tells them that they were part of the worst thing he’s ever seen in wrestling. Bubba Ray wants them to have a match together. He tells them to get their gear on because the match is going to happen right now.

BJ Ray vs. Cutler James

BJ Ray ducks under a lock up and goes after Cutler James’ leg. James fights it off and drives Ray into the corner. Ray is whipped across the ring and eats a back body drop. James takes Ray over and holds onto the side headlock on the mat. Ray tries to send James off, but James keeps hold of the headlock. Ray finally fights out and slams James’ head into the turnbuckle. Ray cuts down James’ leg and then slaps on a rear naked choke-like hold. James fights out of it and hits a clothesline.

James hits a series of forearms. James hits a corner strike and a clothesline. James lifts up Ray, but Ray wiggles out and takes down James. Ray rains down some punches and then sends James to the ropes. Ray hits a back elbow and a slam for a one count. James is sent into the corner. Ray charges, but eats a boot. James hits some punches and lifts Ray. Ray wiggles out and slaps on another rear naked choke for the submission win!

Winner: BJ Ray

The coaches seem to have hated the match. In a talking head segment, Cutler James says that the match was fine for the first thirty seconds, but then BJ Ray got blown up. Ray agrees that it wasn’t a good match in a talking head segment.

Bubba Ray meets BJ Ray and Cutler James in the back. He can’t believe that they had a horrible match. He reminds them that they hate each other and they should have shown it in the match. Bubba Ray wants them to have the match again. He tells them that one of them will be sent home after the match.

Shawn Michaels gathers everyone up. Today’s lesson is all about being prepared for the unexpected. Some of the Future Greats will have matches where something goes wrong. They’ll have to figure out how to deal with it.

The coaches discuss what Michaels might have planned. They agree that the Future Greats will have to be ready for anything. They then discuss what matches to make. Bubba Ray wants Drake Morreaux in a match to make up for BJ Ray replacing him last time. Mickie James wants to see Troy Yearwood have a match. The Undertaker wants to see the beast come out of Tyra Mae Steele. Booker T wants to see Leigh Laurel work as a babyface. Mickie James throws out a mixed tag idea. Penina Tuilaepa and Zena Sterling are brought up by their coaches. Same with Chris Island and Shiloh Hill. It will be Tyra Mae Steele vs. Leigh Laurel, Drake Morreaux vs. Troy Yearwood, and Penina Tuilaepa and Chris Island vs. Zena Sterling and Shiloh Hill.

The Future Greats get ready for their matches and then go out to perform.

Tyra Mae Steele (Team Undertaker) vs. Leigh Laurel (Team Booker)

They hand fight and lock up. The lock up is broken and Tyra Mae Steele rag dolls Leigh Laurel a few times. Steele hits a suplex and then picks a leg. Steele drags Laurel down and then drops an elbow. Steele goes for another elbow drop, but misses. Laurel hits a kick and a tackle for a two count. Steele takes Laurel down again, but Laurel fights out of it. Laurel is able to drop Steele for a two count.

Steele attacks Laurel’s eye and then drops her over the top rope throat-first. Steele works Laurel over in the corner. Laurel tries to fight back, but is sent into the corner. Steele whips Laurel into the corner and the turnbuckle breaks. Laurel sells her back, but then fights back. Steele cuts her off and clubs down on her. Steele goes for a suplex, but Laurel reverses with a roll up. Laurel hits a couple of kicks. Steele dodges a dropkick and then locks on a submission for the win!

Winner: Tyra Mae Steele

The coaches do not seem pleased with the match. The Undertaker thinks that they handled the ring rope breaking well, but did not like the match. Booker T thinks they have a lot of work to do. Bubba Ray asks Tyra Mae Steele and Leigh Laurel if they thought the match was good. They both say “yes,” but don’t sound confident. Bubba Ray says that they are taking steps back instead of taking steps forward. There’s then some controversy over whether Steele rolled her eyes at Bubba Ray or not. The Undertaker feels that he has to figure out what he’s doing with Steele.

Drake Morreaux (Team Bubba) vs. Troy Yearwood (Team Mickie)

They lock up and Drake Morreaux grabs an arm. Troy Yearwood reverses with a wristlock. Morreaux takes Yearwood over, but Yearwood holds onto the hold. Morreaux elbows out of it and cranks an arm of Yearwood’s. Yearwood reverses again. Morreaux tries to elbow out, but Yearwood ducks and hits a series of tackles. Yearwood charges in the corner, but Morreaux moves out of the way and hits a dropkick.

Morreaux stomps down on Yearwood and then hits a running splash in the corner. Morreaux drops Yearwood down for a two count. Morreaux slams Yearwood’s head into the top turnbuckle. He tries it again, but Yearwood blocks it and starts to fight back. Morreaux hits a slam and then a rope assisted splash for a two count. Morreaux locks on a shoulder and arm stretch, but Yearwood fights out of it. Morreaux cuts him off with a knee, but Yearwood hits a roll up for a two count.

Yearwood hits a series of tackles and then a leg lariat. Three more minutes have been added to the match time. Yearwood climbs to the top rope, but is cut off by Morreaux. Morreaux slams Yearwood off of the ropes and rains down punches. Morreaux sends Yearwood to the floor and the referee starts a ten count. Morreaux then goes to the floor, as well, and drives Yearwood into the side of the ring. Morreaux slams Yearwood’s head onto the apron and then rolls him back into the ring. Yearwood rolls up Morreaux, but Morreaux recovers and hits a clothesline. Morreaux stomps down on Yearwood and then sends him into the corner. He tries it again, but Yearwood reverses it and throws some punches. Yearwood hits some forearms, but misses a dropkick. Morreaux hits a chokeslam for the win!

Winner: Drake Morreaux

Mickie James said that they survived the adjustment, but it wasn’t great. Booker T points out how badly Troy Yearwood missed on his punches. The Undertaker says that Drake Morreaux is a big man, but his moves look small. Bubba Ray wants to know why Morreaux sent Yearwood to the floor. Morreaux did it because of the added time. The Undertaker hates the answer. It’s not about filling time…it’s about using the extra time as an opportunity to do more things. In the back, Morreaux talks about understanding what the coaches were saying about using the extra time. Yearwood feels like he’s dragging other people down despite trying his best.

Penina Tuilaepa (Team Booker) and Chris Island (Team Mickie) vs. Zena Sterling (Team Bubba) and Shiloh Hill (Team Undertaker)

Zena Sterling and Penina Tuilaepa start things off with Sterling rolling away from Tuilaepa’s charging attack. Sterling goes behind and then grabs a side headlock. Tuilaepa gets out of it and works over Sterling’s arm. The power surges a bit, which distracts them briefly. Tuilaepa takes down Sterling and Sterling fights out of it. Sterling goes for a tackle, but Tuilaepa doesn’t go down. Sterling goes for a roll up, but Tuilaepa kicks out. Chris Island and Shiloh Hill tag in.

Island and Hill lock up. Hill grabs Island’s arm, but Chris works out of it and hits a tackle. Island works Hill over in the corner and chokes him. Hill tackles Island down and rains down punches. Hill hits a belly-to-back suplex and the lights go out. They come back on and the women tag back in. Sterling runs across the ring and hits Island. Tuilaepa grabs Sterling and the lights go out again. Tuilaepa slams down Sterling and gets a two count.

Tuilaepa slaps on a chinlock. Sterling fights out of it and hits a jawbreaker. The men tag back in. Hill hits a tackle and a running shoulder attack in the corner. Hill hits a bulldog and the women tag back in. Sterling hits Tuilaepa, but she won’t go down. Sterling hits Tuilaepa with a slam and Island breaks up the pin. Tuilaepa hits Sterling from behind and then hits a Samoan Drop for the win!

Winners: Chris Island and Penina Tuilaepa

The Undertaker talks about a time when the lights went out during a show he was on. Bubba Ray was looking forward to the match and he enjoyed the match. He feels that everyone took a step forward with the match. Bubba Ray loves what Zena Sterling is doing and enjoyed Shiloh Hill. The Undertaker says that Tuilaepa had her best match and it stinks that it was in the dark. Mickie James asks the Future Greats how they felt about the lights going on. Hill says it was fun. Booker T gives compliments to Sterling and Tuilaepa. He doesn’t like Chris Island’s stomps, but enjoyed the match. In the back, Hill takes the blame for Island’s stomps. He talked Island into doing them in the match. Sterling and Tuilaepa are happy with the match’s results

It’s time to give out the points! With no special guest this week, it’s up to the Legends to vote. Booker T picks Shiloh Hill and Penina Tuilaepa. Mickie James picks Shiloh Hill and Zena Sterling. The Undertaker picks Zena Sterling and Shiloh Hill. Bubba Ray picks Shiloh Hill and Zena Sterling. Therefore, Shiloh Hill (Team Undertaker) and Zena Sterling (Team Bubba) get the points!

Zena Sterling is proud of what she is doing. Mickie James wonders if she should have voted for Chris Island, but she didn’t want to lie about her pick. The Undertaker feels that Shiloh Hill is really standing out.

Before the next match, BJ Ray and Cutler James talk smack about each other in talking head segments. 

BJ Ray vs. Cutler James - Loser Leaves

The match was filmed in front of a live audience.

They circle and do some amateur wrestling. Cutler James rolls BJ Ray over and gets a two count. Ray gets up and takes a hard shot at James. Ray brings James down and gets a two count. Ray locks on a front facelock and then grabs an arm. James drives Ray into the corner and hits some shoulder attacks. Ray tackles down James and locks on an arm bar. Ray stretches the arm and cranks it. James elbows out of it and hits a big tackle.

James hits a couple of forearms and a hip toss. James hits a slam and gets a two count. Ray picks an ankle, but gets kicked off. James hits a back body drop and tries to whip Ray across the ring. Ray holds onto the ropes, so James rains down some shots on him. James tries another whip, but Ray fights it off and rolls James up for the win!

Winner: BJ Ray

The coaches talk about how they expect more from BJ Ray based on how much he talks. Bubba Ray wonders if he can send both BJ Ray and Cutler James home.

Bubba Ray meets with Cutler James and BJ Ray. Bubba Ray says that the decision over who goes home is all on him, but he wants to hear what the other Legends have to say. Booker T votes for BJ Ray to leave. Mickie James votes for BJ Ray to leave. The Undertaker isn’t happy with either Future Great and doesn’t vote. 

Bubba Ray says that BJ is a headache and an issue. There’s always a “yeah, but…” with him. Bubba Ray says that entertainment trumps wrestling, though, so BJ Ray will stay. Bubba Ray tells James “best of luck in your future endeavors.” Bubba Ray reminds BJ how close he came to leaving. Bubba Ray says that BJ has an “it factor,” though. It’s up to BJ Ray to sink or swim now.

BJ Ray jokes about how he’s going to keep doing great. Cutler James says that whatever is next for him is going to be big.
