NJPW Strong Openweight Championship: Gabe Kidd (c) vs. Kosei Fujita

The match begins with Fujita backing Kidd into the ropes before landing a chop, Kidd backs Fujita into the ropes before landing multiple chops. Fujita fights back and he trades chops with Kidd, Fujita goes for a rana and Kidd defends before eating a drop kick. Fujita sets up for a suicide dive and Kidd runs away, Fujita nails Kidd with a kick from the ring apron. Kidd catches a leaping Fujita before nailing him with a suplex on the arena floor, Kidd follows Fujita around the arena floor while nailing him with strikes. Kidd tosses Fujita over the barricade and onto the announcers table, Kidd gets the microphone and he does some trash talking. Fujita makes it back into the ring and Kidd nails him with more strikes, Kidd then drops Fujita with a shoulder tackle before landing a senton for a near fall. Kidd gets the microphone and he trash talks Kenny Omega, Kidd goes back to stomping away on Fujita.

Fujita fights back and Kidd levels him with strikes of his own, Fujita and Kidd have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Kidd eventually drops Fujita and another striking exchange breaks out when he gets back up, Fujita traps Kidd in the corner while landing more chops. Kidd gets angry and he bites Fujita in the head before landing a slam, Kidd keeps Fujita down while landing strikes to the back. Fujita knocks Kidd into the corner before landing a bunch of strikes, Fujita gets angry and he continuously knocks the referee away from him. Fujita then hits Kidd with multiple German suplexes for a near fall, Fujita then hits Kidd with a dead lift German suplex for another near fall. Fujita looks for a suplex and Kidd defends before landing a few strikes, Kidd then cracks a charging Fujita with a lariat for a near fall. Kidd follows up by hitting Fujita with a back drop driver, Kidd goes for a knee strike and Fujita counters with a lariat.

Kidd quickly recovers and he nails Fujita with a brain buster, Fujita recovers and he drops Kidd with Abandon Hope. Fujita and Kidd have another striking exchange until Kidd is knocked out of the ring, Fujita drops Kidd with a moonsault from the ring apron. Fujita gets Kidd back in the ring before landing a springboard drop kick, Fujita then hits Kidd with Abandon Hope for a near fall. Fujita sits Kidd on the top rope and he follows him up there, Kidd knocks Fujita off the ropes before missing a moonsault attempt. Fujita then lands a head kick on Kidd, Kidd quickly recovers to hit Fujita with a power bomb followed by a knee strike for a near fall. Kidd follows up with a piledriver on Fujita for another near fall, Kidd follows up with a second straight piledriver on Fujita for another near fall. Kidd then hits Fujita with a sit out power bomb for a three count.

Winner: Gabe Kidd, still your NJPW Strong Openweight Champion

After the match, Gabe Kidd attacks Kosei Fujita further until Ryohei Oiwa makes the save. Kenta comes in to help Kidd out and Oiwa levels them both, Oiwa gets the microphone and he challenges Kidd for the title.
