Triple H makes his way to the ring.
The crowd chants "Thank You Hunter" and Hunter says he came out to thank the fans because they made something special happen. He says he can say that was the greatest Wrestlemania of all time. By every metric and standard and everything you have said, this was the biggest Wrestlemania ever. He says he came out to say thank you. He had the privilege to welcome everyone to Wrestlemania over the weekend. Now he gets to welcome everyone to Raw.
He said on Saturday, welcome to a new time and a new era.. Hunter introduces the man who will take things into the new era . . . Cody Rhodes.
Hunter and Cody shake hands.
Hunter tells Cody congratulations and he thanks Cody for bringing an end to one of the greatest title reigns, headline the greatest Wrestlemania, and on your first night as champion to set a gate and attendance record. He says he got a call a few hours after Wrestlemania ended from the studio. They told Hunter they made something special for Cody and they asked if they can share it with Cody. Hunter says he will show it to everyone. Hunter talks about how there isn't a normal tron so they had to use a monitor.
After the video ends, Cody and Hunter hug.
Cody puts the title belt down on the mat and he kisses it.
Cody asks Raw after Wrestlemania and Philadelphia, what do you want to talk about?
Cody says he felt that he knew what he wanted to talk about. This whole business. Something he heard. He tells Samantha she knows what he is going to ask her to do and he asks her to do it once more.
Cody says it was two years ago, the Raw after Wrestlemania and he laid out his goals and dreams. Last night, that dream became a reality. He says he has been told that the altitude in Philadelphia is 39 feet above sea level. He says the air is thin in here because they are standing on top of the mountain. He says the champion previously on the top of the mountain, the Head of the Table . . . Roman Reigns. One Thousand Three Hundred Sixteen days. We don't have to like him, but he acknowledges what he has done. Perhaps he is the most important superstar of this generation. Cody says he was the man destined to defeat him.
Cody says people ask you 'why' when you enter the business. Cody asks them to show his main why.
We see a video of Cody's daughter saying for papa to finish the story.
He says that is his Libby Curls. He wants her to know that when papa goes to work, he doesn't just go to work, he goes to work in the main event. When papa is fighting, he is not fighting as a challenger, but as champion. He says this is a unique predicament. He used to stand in the line, but now the line is for him. Cody says his name is Cody Rhodes . . . once undesirable become undeniable. Now . . . Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
The Rock's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
Rock looks at Cody and he says he says he is a lot of things, but sucks isn't one of them.
Rock says before we begin, he came out here to deliver flowers to Cody. He also wanted to say that Philadelphia broke another record for the largest gathering of trailer park trash. Rock tells them to chant it now and he calls everyone pieces of trash.
Cody shows his title belt and then the Rock shows his People's champion belt and the crowd gives different reactions.
He says he did not come out here to fight. He tells Cody that he did it. They can chant what they want but this is between the two of them. You completed your story and you beat the odds and beat Roman Reigns in the ring, one . . . two . . . three. Rock says he made Cody bleed, got his blood on his hands, ripped your clothes. Rock says he made a special belt and whipped him like a boy. He put a special name on the belt for Mama Rhodes. She was so happy those last two nights. She had a huge smile on her face and she is proud of her boy like she should be. Someone else had a big smile, your daddy in heaven.
Rock says Dusty was his hero. As you know, his dad and Cody's dads were good friends. He doesn't know if his dad is proud of what he did to Cody, but he doesn't care. Rock says he did it and he finished his story. You have a brand new belt. That is beautiful with the new name plate on it. Rock says his belt isn't fake, it was given to him by Muhammad Ali's widow. Rock mentions Ali allowing him to be called The People's Champion.
Rock asks Cody if there is a way he can hold that title.
No fireworks tonight. No harm. He grew up in pro wrestling and he loves titles. He has held most of them, but not this one.
Cody looks around and he asks Rock if he wants to hold this one and Rock says he does. Cody says he can hold it for a moment . . .as long as he can hold Rock's. Rock says of course and they both hold out their belts for the other.
Rock says this feels right. He thanks Cody and hands the title back. Cody gives Rock his title belt back. Rock says that means a lot. He tells Cody that he has to go away for a little while. Rock says he doesn't want to leave and he loves pro wrestling. They made it cool again.
The crowd serenades Rock.
Rock says when he comes back and whether Cody is champion or not, he is coming back for Cody.
Cody says he is looking forward to it.
Rock says he is looking forward to it too. He says Cody beat Roman in the middle of the ring, one, two, three. Rock reminds Cody that he beat Cody the night before. Rock says Cody's story with Roman is over and you did it. Our story has just begun.
Cody says he believes that because you are the boss . . . the Final Boss. You are on the board so you are his literal boss. Cody says he doesn't dispute that and Rock won't dispute the fact that he is the champion and he is their champion. Cody tells his boss that means he is his champion.
Rock says Cody is their champion and the World Champion. You are his champion . . . Cody, there is one thing before he rides off into the sunset. He says he has something to give Cody. No fireworks. Rock reaches into his pocket and he gives Cody something and shakes Cody's hand. Rock says Cody doesn't have to open his hand to know what this is. He tells Cody never to break his heart again. If you smell what the final boss is cooking.
We see THE Judgment Day arriving at the arena earlier today.
We see R Truth and Miz walking in the parking lot.
We see Sami Zayn walking with his wife and son.
Cole mentions the draft will be on April 26 and 29th
Match Number One: Shinsuke Nakamura versus Ilja Dragunov in a Non Title Match
Nakamura with a kick but Ilja with a forearm. Nakamura fires back. Nakamura with knees. Nakamura with kicks but Ilja with a knee and a running knee into the corner. Ilja with a knee drop off the turnbuckles. Ilja with a German suplex and he holds on and hits a second one. Nakamura blocks a third German suplex and he applies a wrist lock. Ilja with Konstantin Special and he goes up top and misses a back senton when Nakamura moves. Nakamura runs into boots but Nakamura puts Ilja in the ropes and hits a sliding German suplex. Nakamura with a knee off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Nakamura sets for Kinshasa but Ilja moves and hits a German suplex. Nakamura with a kick to the back of the head for a near fall.
Nakamura with a reverse chin lock. Ilja with a knee and chop. Nakamura with a back body drop and a running knee. Ilja with a jumping kick to the head followed by a power bomb. Ilja with H Bomb. Ilja sets for Torpedo Moscow and he hits it and gets the three count.
Winner: Ilja Dragunov
