LIO RUSH VS. AREZ, MYRON REED VS. AKIRA AND LOTS MORE: COMPLETE VxS COVERAGE FROM QUEENS, NYC

Sami Callihan vs. Little Guido.

Fans threw streamers for Guido.  Callihan attacked him before the bell.  Callihan said he used to wrestle here all the time and he never thought he'd be back in this sh**hole.  Callihan grabbed a photo of himself and gave Guido a papercut between the fingers.  He then did the same to his mouth.   Callihan took him to the floor and worked over Guido.  Callihan chopped him hard against the guard rails.

Guido fired back and drilled Callihan with a fan's drink and a few other weapons.  Callihan backdropped hin onto a table.  The fans chanted back and forth for each.  Guido returned to the ring, where Callihan tossed him into the ropes and nailed a slam for a two count.  Callihan raked Guido's back and chest.  Guido nailed a stunner and a Side Russian Legsweep.  He went for a Fujiwara Armbar but Sami got to the ropes.  Guido went for the Sicilian Slice but Sami grabbed the referee.  Guido got back down from the ropes to stop Sami but was caught with an inverted DDT for a close two count.

Guido regained control and nearly scored the pin.  It was so close the crowd chanted it was three.  He protested to the referee, which allowed Sami to nail a low blow and  DDT for the pin.

Your winner, Sami Callhan!

Guido received a standing ovation after.

This was a hell of a fight, one of the most competitive bouts I've seen with Guido in some time.

Spencer Slade vs. Joseph Keys

Slade wore amateur headgear.  They faced off and grappled. Key smashed him with strikes in the corner and grabbed a side headlock.  He was sent into the ropes but caught.  They went into a test of strength and battled pretty hard back and forth.  Slade gained control and worked over Keys, turning him over into a submission.  Keys locked on a small package for a two count.    Slade stomped him hard in the head.  He sent Keys to the floor, where his manager, Savage, stomped away.

Keys was tossed back in, where he was almost pinned several times.  Keys finally kicked Slade away at he charged in the corner.  Keys fired up with a big running clothesline and a series of shoulderblocks in the corner.    Keys nailed a tilowhirl slam and followed up with a powerbomb into a knee strike, scoring a close two count.  Keys nailed several bih shots.  Slade ducked a clothesline and  nailed a back suplex for a two count.  He peppered Keys with punches, which fired Keys up to return with chops.

Keys nailed another powerbomb into a knee strike.  Slade used an anklelock.  Key stalked him but was caught with Cradleshock for the pin.

Above the Rest vs. Colby Corino & a mystery partner.

They attacked Colby before he could annouce his partner.    They beat him down for some time.  Casanova Valentine hit the ring and made the save.

It settled into a traditional tag bout after some battling.  Above the Rest mauled and beat down Colby for a long time.  Colby finally reversed a suplex but as he went to make the tag, Valentine was knocked off the apron to the floor.

They continued stomping the hell out of Colby.   Valentine hit the ring, tossed Colby into their corner and tagged in.  Valentine cleaned house.  Everyone battled.  One ABR hit a suplex into a splash on Colby.  Corino was great as the babyface in distress and the crowd really got into his offense chopping them back and forth, working over ABR.

Valentine nailed a big chokeslam.  Colby hit a package driver for the pin.

Your winners, Colby Corino and Casanova Valentine!

ABR showed respect but slapped the winners and ran off.

Rap star Charlie Clips is in the house.

Myron Reed vs. Akira.

The crowd was into this even before the bell, clapping.  They went through a feeling out process early on, working over each other's arms.  They peppered each other with forearms, going nose to nose and getting more and more aggressive with each other.  Akira nailed a suplex and drilled him with kicks to the back.  He scored with a series of kicks to the back.

Reed fired back and nailed a leaping kick.  They faced off.  Reed kicked him down and then hit a nailed a slingshot guillotine legdrop over the ropes into the ring.  He followed up with a Codebreaker off the ropes and went for a slingshot suplex off the ropes but Akira escaped.  He draped Reed across the ropes and nailed a bombs away kneedrop from the ropes.  

Lots of real good action here.  Reed nailed a slingshot suplex into a slam.    Reed drilled him with a series of back eblows.   Reed went for his leaping cutter to the floor but Reed couldn't get over the ropes.  Akira caught him, preventing the move but grabbing him in a choke and they crashed to the apron, then to the floor.  Back inside, the battle continued with Reed drilling Akira to the mat.  Akira came back with a running snake eyes into the buckles.

They battled back and forth with measured punches as Akira dared Reed to nail him harder.  Reed superkicked him as Akira rebounded off the ropes.  Akira nailed a kick to the head.  Akira nailed a Michinoku Driver for a close two count.  Akia grabbed a front chancery, trying to sink in a choke.  Reed escaped but was nailed with a kick to the head.  Akira nailed a cutter and went for a gourd buster.  Reed escaped and nailed a cutter, then pulled Akira up and drove him to the mat, scoring the pin.

Your winner, Myron Reed!

Excellent, hard fought match.

Reed cut a promo after and said when he comes back, he wants a title shot and some gold around his waist.

Lio Rush vs. Lucha Libre AAA’s Arez.

Fans threw streamers for Arez and Rush.  The crowd was super into this.  Lots of people chanting and screaming for Rush.  They were very wary of the other early on, trying to grab a hold.  They faced off.  They had some nice sequences.  Arez went for a big move but Rush avoided and told him "No."  The crowd chanted "This was awesome."  Back and forth chanting.

They battled back and forth until Arez was tossed to the apron, where he was hit with a cartwheel kick and then a basement dive to the floor.  The crowd exploded and chanted for Rush.  Lots of fast paced athletic spots and near falls.  NYC was loving this.  Arez gained control and had the crowd count every kick he gave Rush, ending with a leaping one.  He tied up Rush on the mat, trying to force a submission.

Arez sssshhhed the crowd and then chopped Rush hard in the corner.   Rush fired back and nailed some hard forearms.  He went for a leaping rana but was caught and sent back to the mat, then drilled with a kick.  Rush went for a cutter but was stopped and drilled with a hard kick.  Arez worked over Rush and menaced him, kicking him and smothering him against the mat with his foot.  

They battled to the outside, where Arez chopped Rush hard agains the railing.  He tossed Lio back in.  Arez went for a powerbomb but Rush blocked it.  He sent Rush crashing down with a delayed reverse kick to the head.  Arez snatched up Rush for a suplex but Rush elbowed him to escape.  He fired away with strikes in the corner.  Arez powered him up but Rush turned it into a forward roll for a two count.  Rush went nuts with kicks, then went to the top for a frog splash and scored the pin,

After Rush left the ring, the PPV broadcast played a video from Jordan Oliver saying Rush was going to have to deal with him.

A very, very good show all around!
