By Richard Trionfo on 2023-10-13 21:57:00

Triple H makes his way to the ring, where Adam Pearce is already standing in the corner.

Hunter says there is a big part of him that misses the chants for him.  He says it is electric in the building.  He doesn't know if it is the time of year, but they came off a successful Fastlane and they are on the way to Crown Jewel and Survivor Series.  He says it all starts right here tonight on the season premiere of Smackdown.  He says he wanted to call attention to one of the unsung heroes of WWE.  He is in the ring with him now and he doesn't know why he is in the ring right now.  He had a great career as an in ring performer, but over the last three years, Adam Pearce, as a WWE official has done an incredible job doing a thankless job.  He managed the superstars of Raw and Smackdown and has overseen both shows.  Hunter thanks him for the job he has done.

Hunter says no one person should do that job alone.  Hunter says Adam will no longer be alone and as of this moment, Adam is getting a promotion.  Adam Pearce is now the General Manager of Raw.  That leads Hunter to the announcement of the General Manager of Smackdown.

Dominik Mysterio interrupts and he asks Hunter if he is serious.  Fastlane was not a success.  THE Judgment Day got screwed out of their tag titles.

Hunter says he can't hear Dom and he asks the people to keep it down.

Dom says Jey and Cody are defending their titles tonight when THE Judgment Day have a title match.  How can you let him do this?

Hunter says he thought they were pumping in the noise but he didn't realize how loud it is.  Hunter says he is a lip reader and he says that Dom said there is injustice so Jey and Cody shouldn't be defending the titles tonight.  Hunter says that Dom is yelling at the wrong people.  Adam is the Raw General Manager.  Hunter says Dom needs to talk to the Smackdown General Manager, Nick Aldis.

Nick enters the ring and shakes Hunter's hand.

Nick thanks WWE for the chance of a lifetime to be in charge of the number one brand in sports entertainment.  He says he is looking forward to some competition between brands.  Nick tells Dom he is a big fan . . . of Dom's dad.  Nick says about a month ago, Cody engineered a deal to bring Jey to Raw so a superstar needs to come to Smackdown.  Nick introduces the newest member of the Smackdown roster.

Dom says nobody cares.  Dom says Cody and Jey are the problem and he has to deal with him.  He does not care who Smackdown's newest superstar is.  He says he will smack this person.

Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring.

Kevin looks at everyone in the ring and then he kicks Dom and gives him a stunner because Dom is not wearing a suit.

Nick and Kevin shake hands.

Everyone else shakes hands in the ring.

We see Roman in the suite and he is not happy.  Roman realizes that Kevin Owens is on his show.  Now you have Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso on his show.  Jimmy Uso is on his couch.  He wants to know what are they doing.  Roman says he called the play and he wants to know why Jimmy is drinking his water on his couch.  Roman tells Jimmy to run the play and Jimmy leaves with Solo.

We are back with a look at Dragon Lee.  He says he wants to show the world that he is special.

Chelsea and Piper are with Nick and they want to know what is he going to do about the curse of the tag titles?  Chelsea suggests new title belts.

Nick says he saw the match at Fastlane and if the referee was not distracted, she would be the champion.  Next week, Charlotte will face Iyo for the Women's Championship.
