The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn answered the House of Black's Open Challenge for the Trios titles. That makes sense given they've been doing nothing but winning Trios matches in recent weeks. They did all the special lighting for the bout that they've been doing of late. Black worked over Bowens' knee early. He fought to tag out but Max Caster and Billy Gunn hasd been knocked off the apron, allowing Black to attack Bowens and lock him in a kneebar again. Bowens was worked over for a long time but finally got the hot tag to Billy. Billy hits all his signature spots but is drilled with Black Mass and pinned by Malakai. Solid action.
AEW TBS title next!
Jade and Taya each got nice entrances and had a good back and forth bout. Jade scored the win with Jaded after Leila Grey got involved. Mark Sterling said she would defend the title any time, any place but no one was left. That means someone was left. It was the return of the injured Kris Statlander and they had a bout right then and there. Jade missed her pump kick and Statlander took the fight to her. She held her up for a delayed vertical suplex but Jade kneed her while upside down. Jade nailed the pump kick but Statlander kicked out. She came back to nail a Queen's Gambit style piledriver for the pin. The streak ends. Surprising twist there. Statlander always had great potential, so we will see if they can get her to the next level after the gift she received tonight. Very interested in seeing how this twist takes Jade forward. They need to have a strong follow-up for her, or else why do it?
Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti announced they are pregnant during his ring entrance for the AEW title bout. Darby had a vignette where he beat up a bride made up to look like MJF whole Elvis skateboarded around (I laughed at that, I have to admit) and then tossed the bride in a limo before skating off to the building. He skated down the aisle. MJF had an entrance where he was on a throne that was raised in the air. I am pretty surprised this isn't closing the show.
The crowd was chanting for MJF early until he played Larry Zbyszko. Lots of dives early. They each did their mentors' signature moves for near falls. MJF tried to convince Guevara to lay down and lose to make money for his pending child. Guevara agrees but no one believed it, and they were right as he cradled Max for a two count They went into a four way submission. The crowd enjoyed that and chanted "Fight Forever."
They went into a series of Canadian Destroyers on each other. MJF looked to bang up his arm while executing a Powerbomb off the top and was holding it during spots. MJF tried to use the belt but was clotheslined out of the ring by Darby. Jack Perry was left with the belt and teased using it but wouildn't do so. Darby took him out and went for the Coffin Drop but MJF put the belt over Jack. Darby knocked himself out on the move and Max used a headlock takedown to pin him.
This was far and away the best thing on the show. I wish it had closed the show, just so that all four could have the main event on their resume. They earned it. It was the super-indy style to the nth degree. Hopefully MJF isn't hurt too badly.
There will be a post-show media scrum.
Anarchy in the Arena will close us out. They brawled all over as a band kept playing "Wild Thing." Hangman Page revealed his eye was healed and wanted to gouge Danielson but was attacked by Wheeler. The Elite did quadruple dives. They battled up the ramp. The Young Bucks superkicked the lead singer of the band. They did dives off the ramp. Jackson did the Northern Lights suplexes over and over. if you like madness, you would probably finding this pretty damn entertaining.
Claudio and Mattt Jackson brawled to the lobby. Mox and Omega battled over a giant barbed wire poker chip. Mox began stabbing him with a fork. Claudio did the big swing into a trash can, which was fun to see. Moxley tried to choke out Kenny but Moxley fell into the poker chip. They missed it live but showed a replay. Nick Jackson was bloodied by Danielson. Wheeler Yuta and Page brawled. Moxley's back was all ripped up.
The BCC all beat the hell out of Page at ringside. Matt Jackson and Claudio fought outside. Claudio tossed him into the back of a pickup truck. Claudio nailed a piledriver in the truck. A leafblower was used as a weapon n the ring. Danielson tossed Nick off the stage. Omega was beaten in the ring. He used a trash can lid like Captain America but unfortunately Hydra took him out.
Matt Jackson returned to the fray. He hit a superkick and his sneaker exploded like an FMW stunt. Yuta ate a buckshot lariat for a two count. Jackson was barefoot and dropped onto tacks by Moxley. F that. No money worth that. He nailed the Death Rider on Jackson but he kicked up. Nick Jackson nailed a swanton but ate the tacks face-first. Omega reversed a Ricolabomb into a rana and nailed a V-Trigger, but ate a Danielson flyinhg knee strike. The BCC all beat down the Elite with elbows to the face and neck.
Matt Jackson tried to save them but was lowblowed. They put tacks in his mouth. Claudio nailed him with an uppercut. Jackson was pinned but Page broke it up at the last second. Omega and Page had a moment and attacked the BCC. Wheeler saved Danielson after Omega nailed him with the One-Winged Angel.
Omega was going to get his hands on Callis but Konosukea Takeshita attacked him. Yuta pinned Omega.
Omega was choked out by Callis with a belt as BCC and Takeshita surrounded him. Everyone looked for a run-in but it was not to be.
They promised Anarchy. They pretty much delivered.
