We are back with the Grayson Waller Effect.
Waller welcomes everyone to the first Grayson Waller Effect on Smackdown. He brings out his guest, the man who face Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, AJ Styles.
Grayson mentions that their paths crossed in NXT. Waller says he thought about what AJ said to him about trying to be Phenomenal for 20 years. Waller says that AJ is a first ballot hall of famer. Next week, he has a chance to add one more accolade. He asks what does winning the title mean.
AJ says he has been out of the ring for the longest time in his career with this most recent injury. He wanted to get back. He got cleared and he came after it. No one ever trained harder than him. He knew that there would be an opportunity. This opportunity to be World Champion. I wanted it more than the air he breaths. AJ says Seth is on a movie set and AJ says he is happy for him. Surely, he is exercising and doing the training so he can be ready. AJ says he is.
Waller says AJ's match is the one he is looking forward to the most. Waller says he is looking forward to them announcing Seth Rollins as the new champion.
AJ is not happy and he gets up from his chair and he gets face to face with Waller.
We go to the LWO party room and they talk about the Usos. Santos says Rey is a hall of famer and Latinos around the world need to know about them. Wilde says people need to see how great Rey and Santos are. Rey says the Usos will find out what happens when you mess with the LWO.
LA Knight has a mic on the stage and he wants to talk to you.
He says that he was looking for titles and that means the tag titles. He says he saw the Street Profits come onto his territory and he feels that he can beat them with anybody and he is going to lead this team to a W with Rick Boogs.
Match Number Three: Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins versus LA Knight and Rick Boogs
Boogs and Ford start things off and Ford marches around the ring and then tries for a shoulder tackle but he bounces off Boogs. He tries again with the same result. Ford goes for a cross body and Boogs catches him. Boogs presses Ford over his head and does some reps and then tosses Ford into the corner. Dawkins wants a piece of Boogs and he tags in. They lock up and Dawkins with a side head lock and Boogs with a shoulder tackle. Boogs with pump handle curls followed by a fallaway pump handle slam. Knight tags in and they hit a double shoulder tackle. Dawkins with a jaw breaker and Knight with a power slam. Knight goes for a leaping elbow drop and hits it for a near fall.
Boogs tags in and they have some mixed signals and they go for a double belly-to-back suplex but Dawkins lands on his feet and Ford tags in. Ford with a cross body to both men followed by a clothesline to Knight and kicks to Boogs and an enzuigiri. Ford sends Knight to the apron and Ford with an enzuigiri. Boogs knocks Knight off the apron and Ford clotheslines Boogs over the top rope. Ford with a flip dive and Dawkins tags in. Dawkins hits Sky High and Ford tags in and hits the Seven Star Frog Splash for the three count.
Winners: Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford
After the match, Knight helps Boogs up, but not to console his opponent but to kick him and hit BFT.
We take a look at the continued decline of Baron Corbin with his one move loss to Cameron Grimes.
Megan Morant is with Cameron Grimes in the back.
She asks him what is next.
Cameron says if he was told he was going to be part of one of the fastest matches in WWE history, he would not believe you. What happened last week will not stop him from going straight to the top. Grimes says he wants to go TO THE MOON.
Jimmy and Jey Uso are in the back as Jey does semi-circles behind his brother.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Karrion Kross says they say justice is blind. He says he is the imminent threat to justice and they don't know. He asks Allen if he knows and Scarlett shows a card of AJ Styles. Kross says TICK TOCK.
We take a look at Cody Rhodes' comments to Brock Lesnar from Raw.
Match Number Four: Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre versus Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon in a Non Title Match
Fyre and Leon start things off and she punches Leon and then tags in Dawn who ties up Leon in the ropes and Fyre with a kick. Dawn with a running knee strike. Feroz tags in and Dawn press slams her. Dawn with a running knee strike and Fyre tags in. Fyre with a Gory Bomb and reverse DDT combination for the three count.
Winners: Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn
We take a look at what happened last week in the Women's Tag Title Match when Liv Morgan suffered an injury. The tag titles have been vacated. In two weeks, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey will face Bayley and Iyo Sky as well as Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville as well as Raquel Rodriguez and a partner of her choosing.
Raquel Rodriguez says that Liv is still a champion. She says handing over the titles was the hardest thing in her career. She says Liv is not replaceable.
Bayley and Iyo Sky show up and Bayley wants to mention Dakota Kai, who also got hurt. Bayley tells Raquel that if she can find a partner for next week, they will be waiting for her.
Austin Theory makes his way to the ring.
We are back and Austin welcomes everyone. He says coming to Smackdown last week was not respected. He wants to talk about what happened last week. He was ganged up on by two former World Champions, Bobby Lashley and Sheamus. Both of them know they would have beaten Seth Rollins and become the new World Champion. He says he is trying to figure it out. He understands Bobby Lashley. He has a weird obsession with him and Bobby is jealous.
He does not understand why Sheamus is after him. They are both tough and strong. They both beat John Cena. Theory says he did it this year at Wrestlemania while Sheamus did it 12 years ago when Theory was only 13.
Sheamus makes his way to the ring.
Theory asks Sheamus if he has something to say when Sheamus goes for a mic.
Sheamus with a Brogue Kick and he drops the mic before leaving the ring.
Jimmy and Jey Uso are getting ready for their match and Paul Heyman says he has it under control. Paul says Roman forgives him.
Jimmy asks if Roman will be at ringside and Paul says Roman won't be out there.
Paul says there is a lot to be the Tribal Chief. He has to go to Night of Champions to . . . to make a declarative statement. Then two weeks from tonight, the 1000 night celebration. You are facing the LWO. You hae this victory . . . don't make it ia prediction but make it a spoiler.
Jimmy and Jey go to the ring.
We are back and next Friday there will be a press conference for Night of Champions.
On Smackdown, Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns will be guests on the KO Show. Raquel Rodriguez and TBA will face Bayley and Iyo Sky. AJ Styles faces Karrion Kross. Sheamus faces Austin Theory for the US title.
Match Number Five: Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar versus Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso
Jey and Rey start things off. Jey runs Rey into the corner and he connects with shoulders. Jimmy tags in and they punch Rey. Jimmy with an uppercut. Jimmy with an Irish whip that sends Rey sternum first into the turnbuckles. Jimmy gets Rey on his shoulders but Rey gets to his feet. Jimmy with a kick and Rey with a kick of his own. Santos tags in and Rey with a sunset flip and then he sends Jimmy into a Santos kick on the apron. Rey sends Jimmy to the floor and Santos sends Jey to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Santos punches Jimmy and then he knocks Jey off the turnbuckles. Jimmy keeps Santos from making the tag.and he sends Santos into the turnbuckles and gets a near fall with a rollup.
We see Roman, Solo, and Paul watching MONITOR in LOUNGE.
Jimmy punches Santos in the corner and chops him. Jimmy with an Irish whip and Santos with a drop kick out of the corner. Jey tags in and he stops Santos from making the tag and he connects with an uppercut to Rey. Santos with an inside cradle for a near fall. Santos with punches to Jey and Jey with a back elbow. Jimmy tags in and he punches and kicks Santos in the corner. Jimmy with a running hip into the corner. Jimmy sets for another one but Santos with a Harley Race knee. Jey and Rey tag in and Rey with punches and a head scissors take down. Rey is sent to the apron and Rey with a forearm and he goes up top and hits a seated splash and a springboard cross body for a near fall.
Jey with a thrust kicck and uppercut. Rey with kicks and a Code Red for a near fall. Rey kicks Jey and Jimmy with a kick from the apron. Jey with a pop up neck breaker for a near fall. Jimmy tags in and they set for a double suplex but Rey escapes and they both go to the floor when Rey moves. Santos tags in.and hits a flip dive onto Jimmy and Jey. Jimmy with a dragon whip but Santos wit a running knee. Santos with a running double knee strike in the corner followed by a hurricanrana from the turnbuckles for a near fall. Santos kicks Jimmy in the ropes and then Rey tags in and hits a leg drop off the turnbuckles for a near fall when Jey breaks up the cover.
Jey super kicks Santos off the apron. Rey sends Jey to the floor. Jimmy with a super kick and Jey tags in and hits a frog splash for a near fall. Jimmy tags in and Jimmy and Jey go up top but Kevin Owens comes out and Santos with an enzuigiri to Jey and Sami pushes Jimmy off the ropes. Rey with a 619 and he tags in Santos. Rey with a seated splash off the apron to Jimmy. Santos with a frog splash for the three count.
Winners: Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio
We cut to Roman in LOUNGE and he tells Solo not to go out there.
