The ROH Six Man Tag Team Championship is next as Prince Nana leads The Embassy against AR Fox, Blake Christian and Metallik. Very solid wrestling early on. Christian was spotlighted early with a spear through the ropes and a Fosberry Flop. The Embassy cut him off and worked over Christian in their corner. Brian Cage tried to impose his will but was dazzled by Christian's aerial antics. They went into a nice series of big spots. It went back and forth until Cage wipped out Metallik and scored the pin, retaining. Solid.
Next up is ROH Women's Champion Athena vs. Yuka Sakazaki. The crowd was soundly behind Yuka early on and booing Athena. They went back and forth before facing off. Athena nailed a series of powerbombs for a two count. Yuka kept kicking out. They fought to the floor. Athena nailed a big suplex on the floor. Yuka came back with a slam on the floor. Yuka nailed a nice dive off the stage to the floor. Lots of close near falls. Yuka spun Athena around and sent her crashing to the mat for a near fall. Athena caught her with the O-Face for the pin. Good stuff. Athena's reign of terror continues!
Next up is Samoa Joe vs. Mark Briscoe for the ROH TV title. This should be a lot of fun. EVERYONE got on their feet for Briscoe's entrance. They upheld the Code of Honor. The story is Mark was taking the fight to Joe but was shot down by one of his hard strikes or moves. They chopped the hell out of him. They battled to the floor, where Joe powerslammed Mark. Joe beat on Mark, who tried to mount a comeback but was shot down yet again. The crowd booed Joe for it. Joe nailed his dive into a forearm smash and brought a chair into the equation but Mark cut him off and used the chair to dive off into a tope con hilo to the floor. The crowd loved that and loved Mark pulling a table out even more. Mark put Joe through it and worked him over. Joe and Mark fired off hard chops. Mark kept almost beating Joe. This has turned into a hell of a physical war! Mark finally took Joe down with a running boot and hit the Froggy Bow elbow off the top, but Joe kicked out at the very last second. Crowd is loving this. Joe cut off Mark and nailed a Head and Arms Tazplex and locked in a choke. The referee ruled Mark could not defend himself and stopped the fight. A damn good fight.
They went nose to nose after but Joe extended his hand and shook it. Samoa Joe, respectful badass.
Mark got a standing ovation after the match and then went to the floor, where he hugged his mother and his wife. An awesome moment.
Daniel Garcia vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi is next. The crowd was all over Garcia, chanting that he was a wrestler. Very good, methodical Tanahashi match. The crowd really liked seeing him. Garcia looked good in the ring against him in what I'd say is his biggest match since wrestling Bryan Danielson. They went back and forth, move for move and strike by strike. You can feel the energy of the audience live dipped here after the TV title bout. Garcia was caught in the Dragon Screw Legwhip. He cinched in the Texas Cloverleaf but Garcia made it to the ropes. Tanahashi scored the pin with the Frog Splash. Well wrestled.
