We are back with a look at the failures of Baron Corbin, culminating with John Layfield not wanting anything to do with him.
Cathy Kelley is with Baron Corbin and she asks him about John Layfield's comments.
Baron says it has been a depressing week . . .
We cut to the ring and Sami Zayn circles the ring in his hoodie.
Sami says he does not want to hold up the show but there is something he has to say and someone to say it to. He does not know if he will get the chance before Elimination Chamber. Sami wants Cody Rhodes to come out to the ring.
Cody comes to the ring and he welcomes Sami to Raw and asks him what does he want to talk about.
Sami says Cody had a verbal exchange with Paul Heyman that set the world on fire, but there was one thing you said that has played over and over in my mind. Sami talks about Cody saying that it looks like it will be Cody versus Sami at Wrestlemania. Sami says he wants to hear it from Cody's mouth face to face and man to man if it is lip service or does he believe that Sami can beat Roman Reigns.
Cody says his bandwidth is about talking about winning the title at Wrestlemania so he is not going to BS Sami. He says he meant it when he said that Sami could and will beat Roman. Cody says he believed it when he said Sami would be his opponent at Wrestlemania. Cody, says respectfully, he does not think what this is about here. Does it really matter what Cody believes? It really matters what Sami believes. Do you believe you can beat Roman Reigns.
Sami says the truth is that he does not know. Sami says you haven't seen what he has seen. Sami says he has stood in the trenches with the Bloodline for nine months. He says they always find a way. Roman being in God Mode is not a catchphrase. He is operating on a level higher than he has operated on before. Sami says he has seen people bigger and stronger than him, full of conviction that they would be the one to take down Roman Reigns, they all went down. Am I supposed to believe that Sami Zayn is the one to take down Roman Reigns? If you are asking him that he is capable of beating Roman Reigns, yes. Am I capable of becoming the Undisputed Champion, yes. Am I saying I am Wrestlemania main event material, yes. I need to because no one else will think that way. Do you think I am saying that I will walk out of Montreal as champion, I don't know.
Cody asks Sami if he is saying you don't know? Everyone here believes so. Everyone in Montreal believes so. Cody says he hasn't watched Roman up close, but he has watched from the side. Everyone has fallen. There is dissension in the Bloodline and that is because of you. The idea that the greatest champion of our generation losing is because of you. You can put it on a t-shirt, but Roman is a man. Cody says he punched his ticket to Wrestlemania. He will finish his story at Wrestlemania and you need to finish yours.
Cody tells Sami one more thing. He says he doesn't want to see Sami on Raw next Monday because I would rather see you at Wrestlemania.
Carmella asks Nikki where has she been. Nikki says she was playing hide and seek with her new friend.
Carmella says she is busy thinking about winning the title at Elimination Chamber. She wonders where their other partner is.
Asuka shows up behind Carmella and Carmella walks away and says that they are weird.
Candice LeRae shows up and asks Nikki why is she following her around.
Nikki laughs and backs away.
We go to commercial.
Cathy is with Baron again.
Baron asks if Cathy is ready now.
Baron says we saw what happened last week. He says he is better off without JBL and JBL was holding him back. He was the past and it is time to forget about him. Baron says he is sick and tired of being disrespected. We were supposed to have an interview and you interrupted me for Sami Zayn. Baron says Roman destroys Sami at Elimination Chamber in front of his friends and family. In no world does Sami beat Roman. Do you know the last person to beat Roman? It was him. At the Royal Rumble, I was blindsided by Brock Lesnar.
Now Roman has another opponent he will walk through, Cody Rhodes. He walks home for eight months after suffering an injury. Then he is handed number 30 in the Royal Rumble. Baron says he thinks Cody and his brother are jokes. He says Cody's father is a joke.
Cody, who happens to be standing behind Corbin attacks him and they fight through Gorilla Position.
Cody punches Corbin and they make their way to the ring. Cody sends Corbin into the ring but Corbin with forearms to Cody.
Match Number Three: Baron Corbin versus Cody Rhodes
Cody sends Corbin to the floor and Cody with a suicide dive onto Corbin. Cody sends Corbin over the ringside barrier and breaks the count. Corbin sends Cody into the ringside barrier but Cody sends Corbin into the ring post. Cody breaks the count again and Cody with a punch. Corbin with a punch and they get on the announce table. They exchange punches and Corbin is knocked off the table. Cody goes up top and leaps over Corbin and Cody with a kick and drop down uppercut. Cody with a Cody Cutter. Cody with CrossRhodes for the three count.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Natalya tells Liv and Raquel that she cannot believe Bayley and Becky are trying to get into the chamber match. Liv says it is just another thing in her way to Wrestlemania. Raquel tells them they need to focus on tonight.
Match Number Four: Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Natalya versus Nikki Cross, Asuka, and Carmella
Raquel and Nikki start things off and Nikki with a sleeper on Raquel's back but Raquel with a snap mare. Raquel with a fallaway slam. Carmella tags in and she wants Nattie after Raquel moved. Nattie tags in and Nattie picks up Carmella and gets a sunset flip. Natalya with a Sharpshooter and Nikki breaks up the hold. They all pair off and Nikki, Asuka, and Carmella are sent to the floor. Natalya chases Carmella out of the ring and Carmella with a super kick when they return to the ring. Natalya is sent into the turnbuckles and Carmella with a moonwalk and bronco buster for a near fall. Nikki tags in and connects with a head butt to the midsection. Nikki sends Natalya to the floor and Nikki sends her into the ringside barrier. Nikki sends Natalya back into the ring and She applies an arm bar and gets a near fall. Natalya backs Nikki into the corner and Asuka tags in. Asuka with kicks to Natalya and then he goes with the Kawada Kicks. Asuka with a cross arm breaker and a wrist lock. Carmella tags in and continues to work on the arm. Natalya with punches and she tries for a slam but Carmella lands on her feet and pulls Natalya to the mat for a near fall.
Carmella with a body scissors. Natalya with a body slam and Nikki and Liv tag in. Liv with clotheslines and kicks to Nikki followed by an enzuigiri. Liv with a hip strike in the corner followed by a running knee. Liv goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick. Asuka tags in and Asuka with kicks to the leg and back fists. Asuka with a pop up knee and she gets a near fall. Asuka sends Natalya into the turnbuckles and Raquel catches Carmella off the turnbuckles but Nikki climbs on Raquel and Asuka kicks Raquel. Asuka with a round kick and German suplex to Nikki and Carmella. Asuka with a round kick to Carmella. Asuka applies an arm bar submission on Liv and she gives up.
Winners: Asuka, Nikki Cross, and Carmella
Otis is eating hot dogs while Chad talks about how things have gone wrong. Otis says Coney Island hot dogs are the best in the world.
Chad throws the hot dog away and it hits Mansoor.
Maxxine Dupri introduces herself to Otis and she says that they are looking for the face and physique of the Maximum Male Models.
Chad says he has done some modeling before.
Maxxine says she was talking to Oteese.
Bronson Reed walks past Chad and Otis as we go to commercial.
Match Number Five: Bronson Reed versus Mustafa Ali
Ali with a chop to Reed and Ali hurts his hand. Reed knocks Ali down. Reed goes for a slam but Ali escapes. Ali floats over in the corner but Reed with a body block. Reed runs into a boot and Ali with a drop kick to the forearm. Ali with a drop kick to the knee and punches. Reed pushes Ali away and Ali is sent over the top rope to the floor (which means nothing because it is February). Reed with a shoulder tackle off the apron. Ali kicks Reed on the apron and hits a running drop kick to send Reed to the floor. Ali goes to the apron and is caught by Reed and Reed slams Ali into a comfy chair in the time keeper's area. Reed tosses the chairs that fell on top of Ali aside.
Reed drags Ali back to the ring and Ali grabs at the leg. Reed goes for a power bomb and Ali escapes. Ali with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Ali goes for a rolling neck breaker but Reed with a clothesline. Reed goes up top for the Tsunami and the three count.
Winner: Bronson Reed
We take a look at what happened after the opening match with Edge and Beth Phoenix.
Cathy Kelley is with Beth Phoenix and Edge. She asks them about what happened earlier.
Edge says he is tired of this. Going back and forth and THE Judgment Day got one over them. Beth says they will show THE Judgment Day why they are the Grit couple.
Miz makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.
