10- Keiji Muto’s Last Match: BUSHI, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito vs. Keiji Muto, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shota Umino
Massive pop for Muto.
SANADA and Muto start the match. SANADA connects with a moonsault. Muto kicks out. Muto hit the quick elbow drop ( I popped for this). Tag to Tanahashi. The match goes to the floor. Tanahashi takes some punishment by LIJ. Umino tags in. Pace picks up. Muto hits a Shining Wizard on BUSHI. Umino hits a Death Rider on BUSHI.
Umino pins BUSHI.
Big win for Umino, who looked good in the match. He looks like a younger Tanahashi.
11- IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship 4-way Match: Master Wato vs. El Desperado vs. Hiromu Takahashi vs. Taiji Ishimori
Fast start to the match. All men battled in the ring. Ishimori takes a walk to the floor. The other three fought in the ring till the saw Ishimori taking a break. Desperado gets back dropped on the ramp. Ishimori takes out Hiromu and Wato. Ishimori beats them all back to the ring. They make it back to the ring and they exchange submissions. Action is too fast. Lots of near falls. Desperado hits Pinche Loco on Hiromu. Two count. Hiromu with a Time Bomb on Desperado. Two count. They exchange more reversals.
Hiromu hits a Time Bomb II on Wato.
Hiromu pins Wato.
Hiromu Takahashi wins the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship.
Really good match. All men fought hard and were exhausted.
12- IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship: Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega
Dramatic entrance for both wrestlers. Ospreay is joined by the United Empire.
Match starts quickly. Ospreay showed off his athleticism. Omega starts working on Ospreay’s back. Omega whips him into an open turnbuckle and follows with a backbreaker. Ospreay hits a stunner and a springboard elbow. Two count. Ospreay hits a super kick. He goes for an Oscutter but Omega blocks it. Omega pulls out a table and puts it on Ospreay. Omega hits a double stomp through the table on Ospreay. Ospreay punches Omega and suplexes him on the table. Back in the ring Omega hits a V-Trigger to the back of the head. They exchange big moves. Ospreay hits an Oscutter. Two count. Omega hits a DDT on Ospreay off the top rope. Insane spot. Ospreay is bleeding. Omega hits a plancha. He slams Ospreay into the table. Omega hits two dragon suplexes. Omega with a piledriver. Rope break. Omega hits a V-Trigger. Ospreay falls to the floor. Both men hit all the big moves. Too much to recap here. Ospreay hits a super Oscutter. Two count. Ospreay hits several Hidden Blades. Omega keeps going for the V-Trigger. Omega hits a Kamgoye and finally the One Winged Angel.
Omega pins Ospreay.
Kenny Omega wins the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship.
Good match. It was violent and disturbing at times. if there was a long build to this violent match then it would have made sense.
13 - IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Kazuchika Okada vs. Jay White
White hitting Okada with forearms. Okada counters by attacking White’s neck. White goes after the back. White takes him to the floor and slams him into the guardrail. White drops him on the ring apron. Okada gets suplexed into the turnbuckle. Okada fights back with a DDT. Okada hits a running elbow. Okada hits a dropkick sending White to the floor. Okada’s chest and stomach look red and bruised. Okada follows to the floor and DDT’s both Gedo and White on the floor.
Okada hits a top rope dropkick and goes for a Money Clip. White with a deadlift German and a Bladebuster. Two count. White with a chop block. White throws a chop but Okada absorbs it. They exchange reversals. Okada gets the Money Clip. Okada hits a tombstone and a lariat. Back to the Money Clip. White gets to the ropes.
Okada hits a top rope elbow. Rainmaker pose. White slumps to the mat. The exchange elbows but Okada drops White. White hits a uranage. White suplexes Okada from the ring. White hits a sleeper suplex. White with a Regal Plex. Two count. White hits a Bloody Sunday. Okada gets a German suplex. Okada hits a lariat and another. Okada with a dropkick and a Landslide. White reverses a Rainmaker into a Bladerunner. Two count. White hits two Rainmakers.
White goes for another Bladerunner but Okada hits a Rainmaker. White kicks out! Both me throw strikes on their knees. They get to their feet and hit elbows. Okada hits a Bladerunner and a Cobra Flosion. Okada finally connects with a Rainmaker.
Okada pins White.
Kazuchika Okada wins the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Great match. Since this story has built up for a year, the match makes sense. White is a great heel and is the perfect foil for Okada.
After the match, White refused to let go of the title belt. Jay White looked disappointed and disgusted.
Shingo Takagi comes to the ring and congratulates him. He lost the title last year, but he wants to challenge for the title on February 1. He says he will win the KOPW Title and win the World Title from him.
Okada gets the mic and thanks the crowd. He is happy to see the crowd in Tokyo. He speaks to Antonio Inoki and he hope he liked the matches. He promises more great things from New Japan this year.
