Welcome to my Worlds Collide blog. As most of you know, I loved the NXT UK brand. It was great, great stuff so this show has a lot of people that are just awesome performers and I am glad that some of them are getting to migrate to America. This show should be a lot of fun.
Before moving on, I just have to say how tremendous yesterday’s Clash At The Castle was. It exceeded all expectations. Great, great stuff.
It was nice to see Andy Shepherd on the pre-game show. He and Nigel McGuinness did such an amazing job with NXT UK.
This show has a lot of stuff I am looking forward to on it. We are starting with Ricochet vs. Carmelo Hayes for his North American Title. There’s no real story behind it so I expect they will just open hot. The main thing about this match was that Ric wanted to come back for a shot at the belt, thus making the brand seem more important.
Back and worth early, with each guy showing off their stuff. Trick then got on Ric’s face on the floor and that allowed Melo to take over. They are flying all over the place, as you would expect. They did a move I can’t even describe other than they both springboarded from the other side of the ring into each other. DAMN. Fans are chanting Fight Forever.
Ric had the cover, which allowed Trick to pull Hayes out. He came back and hit a Superplex on Melo. It’s all action, which it should be since there isn’t any story here other than it’s a Title match.
Ric had it won when he went up for the Shooting Star by Hayes saw it coming and got out, then rolled up Ricochet to retain. Great match and a strong win for Melo.
After a promo from Meiko, we go to the back where we find out someone beat the snot out of Roderick Strong in the parking lot earlier today. He went to the hospital but is out now. Time for the Tag Title match. Pretty Deadly is out first, with Lash Legend. Next up are the Glaswegians, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang representing Gallus, accompanied by Joe Coffey. Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs, with Fallon Henley, are out next with the NXT UK Titles. And finally, the champs, The Creed Brothers, with Damon Kemp, repping Diamond Mine. Wade Barrett thinks Julius Creed laid out Roddy. It’s an elimination match. The two champs started it off.
Lash and Fallon had a catfight at ringside early on. It’s all action. Coffey eliminated Jensen after a kick to the head. Down to three. The two UK teams decided to team up against The Creeds. Then they faced off against each other until the Creeds came back. Julius pinned Wolfgang after the Doomsday into the big clothesline. It’s the Creeds vs. Pretty Deadly.
Briggs and Jensen came fighting out of the back with Gallus. That isn’t over.
Julius Creed is freaky strong.
The ref got bumped when the eliminated guys brawled into him. Kemp saved Julius from a double team, then pasted Julius with a chair. He threw the ref in and Prince got the pin. Pretty Deadly are your new champs, Yes BOYS!
This was what you would expect, craziness. Nothing was really settled and all three losing teams will be in the mix for title shots. And, we know who laid our Roddy now. Julius has to feel like a dope now.
Tony D’Angelo has cut Legado free. Cameron Grimes came in and Tony is recruiting him to join his group. Grimes has no interest.
Women’s Title Time. Meiko is out first. She got a great reaction and streamers when she got to the ring. Blair Davenport is next. Mandy then pulled up in a luxury car and walked from the back to the ring. Say what you want about Mandy but she has star written all over her. She’s a heel, but she is wearing an American Flag themed outfit.
