Tonight's show is streaming live on FITE.TV.
HOG Six Way Cruiserweight Champion The Amazing Red vs. Michael Fayne vs. Encore vs. Mantequilla vs. KC Navarro vs. Nolo Kitano.
Red and Navarro started off with Navarro backing off against Red. Kitano wanted to be tagged in, so Red allowed it and the idea was he was defending his mentor. He's billed as the ghetto samurai and did a bunch of martial arts moves to drive Navarro crazy. Encore and Faye tagged in. They looked good going back and forth with some nice fundamentals. Encore showed some fun charisma.
Faye was run from the ring so Mantequilla tagged in. The crowd chanted for him and they faced off. He and Encore had some nice exchanges. Encore was sent up and over to the apron but returned to the ring. He went for a wheelbarrow but was turned into an armdrag takedown. They battled and each went for a Superman punch at the same time but backed off and faced off.
Everyone battled and they started going into a series of dives. Fayne teased one but didn't to screw with the crowd. Encore nailed him with a big flying elbow, sending Fayne down, then hit a big dive to the outside on everyone. Fayne worked over Mantequilla. Navarro sat on the top rope, allowing Fayne to do all the hard work. Navarro and Fayne tagged up and tossed Red over the barricade into the crowd. Nolo returned to the scene and he and Mantequilla cleaned house. Nolo set up Fayne on the top but was shoved off, only to flip over and land on his feet. They went into a Tower of Doom spot that was ocol.
Mantequilla and Navarro hit stereo frog splashes. Navarro was drilled with a Destroyer but bounced back with a clothesline. Red returned and cleaned house, including a tiltowhirl DDT on Navarro that looked great. Red went to the top for a twisting Infrared to the floor on everyone. NYC chanted for Red. Navarro hit the ring from behind and smashed him across the back with a chair. Mantequilla ran him off and checked on Red, only to almost be lowblowed from behind. Mantequilla caught his hand and smashed him with a spinning kick.
Mantequilla went for a Code Red but that time was hit with a low blow. Navarro gave Red the middle finger and nailed the Code Red on Mantequilla for the pin.
Your winner and new HOG Six-Way Cruiserweight Champion KC Navarro!
Very solid six way. There's a lot of really undiscovered gems on the HOG roster that were showcased here. Everyone worked hard. Navarro has been building some buzz lately and you can see why. He carries his arrogance well in the ring. Nolo has a fun gimmick and worked well. Mantequilla has been a strong utility player for the promotion forever who can be put into any role. Encore showed some fun potential. Fayne was very solid.
The other talents beyond Navarro assisted Red up and helped him out of the ring. Red got a big respectful reaction.
The Rep (Dave McCall & Nate Wallace) vs. The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black)
Mane Event do a circus gimmick. Lyon wears a lion's mask. Black is dressed like a ring master.
The Rep attacked Lyon and Black before the bel working them over. Lyon and Black made a comeback and ran them to the floor. Mane Event teased doing a dive through a hula hoop (think circus gimmick) but The Rep wanted not part of that and smashed the hell out of Black. Every time I watch the Rep, they seem a little more grizzled and rugged as a team and I enjoy it. They worked over Midas with some brutal double-team maneuvers, including a combination Samoan Drop/neckbreaker that looked good.
Lyon finally tagged in and they did a deal where he charged the entrance ramp (think Great Muta) into a dive through the hula hoop into the ring, nailing a big spear on McCall. This was right after he hit an Asai Moonsault to the floor on Wallace to the floor. He was cut off and drilled with a brutal double-team slam but Black hit the ring to make the save at the last minute. The Mane Event came back with a 3D to score the pin.
Your winners, The Mane Event!
A good, solid bout.
Mane Event is such a great gimmick for kids. Rep played their roles well as badasses.
HOG PD's Joey Silver with Detective Scarlett Meidan vs. La Sombra Carlos Ramirez
Ramirez is a BIG, musculaer dude. Silver is part of HOGPD, heel cops trying to clean up the promotion. Silver put a lollipop in Ramirez's mouth. Yech. Ramirez didn't like that and began beating the cop. Silver went to walk the ropes into a rana but was caught and almost powerbombed. He turned it into a sunset flip for a two count.
Ramirez uses his power to beat down Silver. He drilled Silver with a smashing forearm across the back. He slammed Silver and worked him over. He catapulted Silver over the top, which didn't look smooth. Silver went to the floor and was clotheslined over the barricade into the front row. Meidan went to slap Ramirez but he blocked it. The distraction allowed Silver to dive off the barricade and knock Ramirez down. He tossed him back in and scored a two count. Silver nailed a dropkick off the ropes and scored another two count.
Silver went for a springboard move but was caught and pressed up. He escaped but was caught with a tilowhirl Flatliner and pinned.
Your winner, Carlos Ramirez!
Meidan slapped Ramirez after the match after she checked on Silver. Meidan grabbed her and chokeslammed the HELL out of her. WHAT A BUMP.
That was a hell of a finisher. Ramirez looks like a bad-ass wrestler. Silver played his role well. Meidan was GREAT in her role here.
HOG Women's Champion Natalia Markova vs. Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz
Only the HOG title is on the line here. They locked up and had a feeling out process early. Steelz used a shoulder tackle to take her down. Steelz went for the cutter but Markova slipped out and nailed her own. They battled back and forth. Steelz was nailed with a faceplant for a two count. Markova and Steelz battled back and forth with kicks. Steelz nailed a Thesz Press for a two count. Markova nailed a running kick for a two count. Steelz nailed a cutter for a close two count but Natalia got her shoulder up and rolled outside to the floor. Steelz followed sent her into the crowd. They battled on the floor and were both counted out.
Double countout.
Weak finish.
Markova nailed Steelz from behind with a big forearm from behind. She then waited for Steelz to recover and smashed her with the HOG Women's Championship.
We are now at intermission.
