COMPLETE 2022 WRESTLECON SUPERSHOW BLOG

By Mike Johnson on 2022-03-31 21:55:00

Josh Alexander & Ace Austin & Black Taurus vs. Michael Oku & Laredo Kid & Rey Horus.

This was PURE madness.  All sorts of fast paced, hyper-active physicality, hard kicks, strikes, and everything else you could imagine.  Oku locked on three half-Boston Crabs on his opponents at the same time.  Rey Horus was working like he was trying to earn a job, everywhere with insane dives and big bumps.  They went into a series of ridiculously fun dives.  Taurus smashed Horus with an insane backbreaker.    Oku hit some big spots including a springboard moonsault.  Austin maliciously stomped him.  This madness went on and on and on and was ridiculously fun.  Everyone just hit the ring looking to steal the show and they all performed well beyond all logic and sanity.  Awesome stuff.

How do you top this?  Well, Minoru Suzuki vs. Biff Busick sounds like a hell of a fun way to try.  Let's see how they do.  They were snug with some great grappling and strikes.  I'm not sure how but Biff got busted open in the forehead and it was deep.  They fought to the outside and back into the ring.  Suzuki took Biff down to the mat, manipulated his joints and chewed on his hand.  Biff battled back and nailed a big back suplex.  He locked in a half-crab.  Suzuki fired back with some stomps and knees.  Suzuki's intensity in the ring is always damn fun.  Biff took the fight to him until finally Suzuki, loving all of the brutality, smiled and decided he had enough, drilled him with a big KO shot and wiped him out with the Gotch piledriver.  Really good fight, because that's what it was, a fight.

Next up is a ten man tag - TEAM ONITA VS. TEAM PCO.

PCO's mystery team: NZO (I kid you not) & Barry Horowitz (I sh** you not) & Jimmy Wang Yang & Fandango.

Onita's mystery team: The Rock N' Roll Express & Juice Robinson & Colt Cabana.

Oh man.

We have a lot to unpack.

Barry Horowitz and Cabana started and Cabana just was excited to be in the ring with him and hugged him.

NZO crowed towards Juice but quickly ran off and tagged off to Yang.  The crowd chanted, "Cowboy sh**" at him.

The place popped for Onita and he brawled with PCO.

PCO hit dives on Cabana and Juice.  PCO did the insane swanton onto the outside of the apron on Dango.

Fandango tried to block the dreaded red mist with a chair so Onita kicked the chair into his face and then misted him and pinned him.

Welp, this was something.

Onita beat up Wang after, misting him and tossing him over the rails.

Fandango was left in the ring to recover and out came Summer Rae.  They reprised their old WWE dancing duo.

MAIN EVENT TIME.

The Briscoes vs. Low Ki & Homicide.

Some fan was razzing Low Ki.  That didnt go so well for him, as Ki and Homicide both ripped him.

After that, Ki and Mark Briscoe battled back and forth.  Ki and Homicide tossed chairs in the ring.  The Briscoes wanted a No DQ match.  Homicide played it up and then told Texas they weren't getting sh**.  The Briscoes had enough and the brawl was on.  Some nice stuff from Homicide who was dressed in striped pants in honor of Terry Funk and obviously was going all out as well.  He nailed Briscoe with a cutter but Jay came back with a DVDR.  Low Ki stomped the HELL out of Briscoe.  They battled back and forth until the Briscoes scored the pin.

Goodnight from Wrestlecon!
