MORE ON KAIRI SANE'S RETURN TO STARDOM

By WrestlingwithDemons.com on 2022-02-18 04:40:00

STARDOM held their highly anticipated press conference today to hype the big 3/26/22 and 3/27/22 events which will both take place at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. And as promised, they revealed the mystery woman. It was Kairi Hojo who returned home to STARDOM as everyone expected. Her WWE contract (as Kairi Sane) expired this month. She will be part of these end of March shows.

STARDOM executive producer Rossy Ogawa casually came out and sat on a couch. He briefly spoke and brought out the mystery woman who was in the same outfit and hat that she had been wearing in the STARDOM social media video segments. She took off her hat and it was Kairi Hojo. She got emotional a couple of times as she spoke.

Unagi Sayaka shouted off camera and interrupted her. Tam Nakano rushed out and got between them to try to calm the situation down. Nakano offered Hojo a handshake but she walked past her and got in Sayaka’s face but Sayaka would not flinch. Nakano offered another handshake but she refused. It looks like Kairi is just going by the first name of KAIRI now. She wants to face Nakano and Sayaka in a tag match with Mayu Iwatani as her partner. They both walked away.

As KAIRI posed for photos she was then attacked from behind by Oedo Tai.

The whole thing went about 15 minutes and it was all about KAIRI’s return and getting right into the thick of the action immediately. There were no full lineups given for the end of March events yet.

For the past several weeks, there were ongoing video segments on STARDOM’s social media showing STARDOM executive producer Rossy Ogawa meeting with a covered up woman while Wonder of STARDOM Champion Saya Kamitani kept interrupting them in hopes of getting a meeting with Ogawa of her own. She started snooping around and discovered the woman’s identity. Ogawa ordered her not to tell anyone but she eventually outed it in secret to others on the roster.

KAIRI was always planned to return to STARDOM after her WWE in-ring career and WWE Japan PR ambassador role ended. STARDOM was where she was trained and debuted in 2012. She left the company to join WWE’s NXT brand in 2017 and then went to the main roster in 2019.

She has held the World of STARDOM Title, the Wonder of STARDOM Title, the Goddesses of STARDOM Tag Team Titles (three times), and the Artists of STARDOM Titles (four times). She was the 2015 5-STAR Grand Prix winner. She and Yoko Bito won the  Tag League Tournament in 2016. In NXT, as Kairi Sane, she held the Women’s Title. She and Asuka were WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on the WWE main roster as The Kabuki Warriors.. In 2017 she won the Mae Young Classic.
