TIME TO RUMBLE: MIKE'S ONGOING WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2022 THOUGHTS

By Mike Johnson on 2022-01-29 20:27:00

Men's Rumble time!

AJ Styles is the first out.  The recently cleared Shinsuke Nakamura was second.  Austin Theory was third.  Despite the silly character he's currently cast to perform, he can go in the ring, so let's hope they book him to do so.

Robert Roode was 4th but was quickly tossed out.  Another guy they don't get anywhere near enough out of given his talent in the ring.

The fifth man was Ridge Holland, making his Rumble debut.  Nakamura was taken out by Styles.  Montez Ford was next.  I picked him as the breakout talent for the bout, but we'll see.  Styles took a crazy high backdrop from Holland.

Damian Priest was out at #7.  Sami Zayn was next, which should mean Johnny Knoxville in no time.  Yep, it does.  Knoxville took out Sami and then AJ Styles offered him a free shot.  Knoxville took it and then got CLOBBERED by Styles.  Ford hit a frog splash on Zayn kicked out Knoxville with a Helluva Kick but left himself open to being dumped by Styles as he celebrated.

Omos came out and the story became that he was wiping everyone out.  Chad Gable tried to get everyone to align and take out Omos but instead Omos cleaned house and even eliminated Damian Priest, which seemed way too early for him to be taken out.  Everyone was trying to take Omos out as Dominik Mysterio came to the ring, to a pretty big pop.  He joined the fray and finally Styles nailed him with a leaping forearm and out went Omos.

Everyone battled as Corbin came out.  Theory was dumped by Styles.  Corbin dumped Dom.  Sheamus was next out.  Rick Boogs hit the ring, dressed more like Brad Rheighans than Van Hammer.  They did some spots to showcase his power and he looked good in that regard, including a one handed press slam to Gable, tossing him to the floor.

Madcap was next out.  Boogs military pressed Ziggler a bunch.  They are pushing him like he's got that Ultimate Warrior power.  Styles and Moss had some nice back and forths unil Corbin attacked.  Moss tossed Styles, which had to be seen as a big shock and/or a sign Vince loves Moss.  Riddle was out to a big reaction.  He scooted all the way to the ring.

Next out was Drew McIntyre, who came looking for Happy and Moss.   he tossed Happy, who was not happy.  Drew then began beating Moss on the floor and grabbed the ring steps and attacked his enemies.  Kevin Owens was out next and he and Drew brawled in the aisle and to the ring.  Owens nailed the pop-up powerbomb.  Owens began stomping on Riddle's bare feet.  It's about time SOMEONE did that to the guy not wearing boots!

Rey Mysterio is next.  Owens killed him with an awesome stunner.  Kofi was out but was knocked off the top but Owens.  It appeared Kofi was trying for the miracle escape but his feet obviously hit the floor.  Whether that was the plan or not, not sure as I write this.  Everyone battled.  Big E was next.  He started throwing suplexes and splash Owens. Sheamus blasted him with a Brogue Kick.

Bad Bunny was next.  He nailed a bodypress on Sheamus.  He nailed an awesome looking Destroyer on Riddle.  He was attacked and tossed over the top by Sheamus but held on.  Sheamus went for a Brogue Kick but Bunny pulled the ropes down and eliminated him in a throwback to the spot where Hacksaw Duggan eliminated One Man Gang in the first-ever Rumble back in 1988.

Bunny and Rey teamed up to toss Ziggler.  Bunny tried to toss Rey, who survivived but was stunned by Owens and tossed.

Shane McMahon was the next man out as a surprise.  He and Owens battled and Shane tossed him.  Shane and Drew battled.

Randy Orton was #29 and got a hero's welcome in his hometown.  He wiped out Big E and RK-Bro tossed him.  So much for a Big E rally towards Wrestlemania. They took out Drew and then tossed Otis.

Number 30 was indeed Brock Lesnar.  He began mauling everyone with strikes and suplexes.  He clotheslined Orton over the top, which the crowd booed.  Bad Bunny stood up to Brock.  That's a stupid bunny.  Brock murdered him with an F-5.  Tour canceled!  Bunny tossed him over. He then tossed Riddle after catching him mid-air.  Lesnar clotheslined Shane over.

Drew and Brock are the last two.  They went nose to nose.  Drew said there was a few more people here than last time - the empty Wrestlemania.  They battled.  it was a lot of fun.  Drew missed the Claymore and was dumped.

Brock is the winner.   Drew sulks.  Brock points.  They blow up a ton of pyro by the sign.  Hope they don't burn it down this time!

Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania folks.
