Brock Lesnar defends against Bobby Lashley next. I hope this picks things up. We still have probably two hours to go. It would be nice if this show picked up.
Bobby is out first, with MVP. The second Brock’s music hit, the fans went nuts. Brock is with Paul Heyman. This should be good. I hope Vince doesn’t get in the way.
They traded suplexes early. Cool start. Bobby hit two spears. Brock to the floor. Bobby went to spear him on the floor but Brock moved and Bobby took out the barricade. Brock went for an F5 but Brock was pushed into the post. Back in the ring, suplex city time.
Many, many suplexes. He went for the F5 but Bobby put on the Hurt Lock. Brock took the ref out but Brock did an F5 and took the ref out again. No one is there to count and he probably had him. We have no official. Out came Roman Reigns and he speared Lesnar. Roman stared at Heyman. He asked for Brock’s belt and Paul gave it to him. Roman sneered. Roman hit Lesnar with the belt. He left. Paul left with him. Bobby, who was left for dead, rolled over and covered Brock for the win. So his win is beyond tainted. He was given the belt rather than win it. Now I fully expect Brock to enter the Rumble and win it, then challenging Brock and clearly making the WWE Title secondary. My God, there were so many better ways that they could have done it that would have made Lashley strong and instead, they do that. Vince is the worst at booking, the worst.
While they were pushing Miz and Mrs. vs. Edge and Beth I was just thinking about the foot plus of snow I eradicated today and how I hoped that WWE would make it easy for me to stay away for four hours. Guess what? They aren’t making it easy. They SHOULD make it easy. They SHOULD make it fun. But the creative process just isn’t good at doing that.
Miz was working over Edge with the idea that Beth needed to make the tag. She did and destroyed Maryse. Beth went for the pin but Miz broke it up. Come on Miz, let’s get it over with. Beth faced off with Miz. He mouthed off and she attacked him. That allowed Maryse to use the loaded purse and get a two count. Not for nothing but the announcing doesn’t help. 3 in the booth is too much, especially when one is Saxton.
Maryse is working over Beth now. They did a double clothesline spot. They went nuts about which woman would make the tag first, even though it doesn’t matter, it’s a mixed tag match. Beth laid out Miz and Edge hit an elbow but Miz kicked out. Thanks Miz.
Maryse ran Beth into the steps. Dimwit Jimmy said that even though Edge doesn’t have a partner if he can stay focused it will be OK. If he doesn’t have a partner then Maryse can’t come in you dope! Maryse hit a rana on Edge. Nice spot. Led to a near fall.
The Edges hit double spears. Double glam slams The Edges win. They worked hard. If it wasn’t three hours in of a flat show, I would have liked it more. Three hours down, one more to go.
