We are back with a look at the match between Miz and Edge from Saturday.
Miz says they stand before you outraged over the outcome at Day 1. He had Edge where he wanted him. One Skull Crushing Finale from beating Edge and getting the respect that he deserves. He reminds everyone he is a two time grand slam champion. That makes him and all time great and better than his predecessors. He says he still has to prove himself against Edge, a one time Grand Slam champion. Questionable calls by the referee kept Edge in the match. That last kick out showed his despair and how he was looking for his mommy, or his wife. He was ready to lay Edge out but out comes Edge's wife, Beth Phoenix. She interfered and allowed Edge to cheat fate and get the victory. Edge deserved to lose. You know that because of what Edge did to them last week.
We take a look at what happened last week.
Miz asks the people if they liked that and found it funny. You enjoyed that because your lives and relationships are so miserable you want bad things to happen to good people. We know that true love always wins.
After that wedding vow, he vowed he would end Edge's career. When he got into the ring at Day 1. It wasn't Brood Edge, Rated R Superstar Edge, or the Edge he respected. It was the Edge who hid behind his wife. What kind of man does that?
Edge does not deserve your respect and he doesn't have his respect.
Who would let their wife fight their battles.
Maryse says Michael would never do that because he is courageous, strong, and handsome. Beth Phoenix took your moment but if she was here tonight, Maryse says she would punch Beth in her face.
Beth Phoenix makes her way to the stage and she is joined by her husband, Edge.
They come to the ring.
Beth asks Maryse what was she saying.
Edge says that is what they figured. Edge tells Mike that most people would take the L and move on. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I know you better than that. I knew you would come out and bitch and moan and complain and make every excuse. Maybe it was the Browns losing last week, or you heard Beth's music, or your socks weren't properly pressed. Do I need to point out how much of a hypocrite you are.
Edge points out that Miz was at a loss for words. Edge says he doesn't ask Beth to help her fight her battles. Beth says that was her idea. Edge says he has an idea. If you want to rectify this travesty that happened at Day 1 and you picked. You would have lost even if Beth wasn't involved. We are going to give you what you want. Edge suggests the marquee with Miz and Maryse versus The Rated R Superstar and Glamazon at the Royal Rumble.
Miz asks Edge if he is serious. Miz mentions that Maryse is the executive producer of Miz and Mrs., an entrepreneur, and the mother of his children teaming to go against you?
Beth says a simple yes or no will suffice.
Miz says they accept and Maryse is not happy with her husband's answer.
Beth teases a punch and Maryse goes down.
We go to Kevin Patrick with Big E. Kevin mentions that odds were stacked against him on Saturday so how motivated is he to win tonight.
Big E says being WWE Champion meant a lot to him. It meant something to a lot of people too. There is no shame in losing to Brock Lesnar. What we don't do is get kicked and stay down.
