We begin with a look back at the end of an era between Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman.
Paul Heyman is with Kayla Braxton and she mentions it has been a week since Roman Reigns publicly fired him. Paul says Kayla got in that shot about it being public. Kayla asks what happened.
Paul says he told Roman the truth and it was a truth that Roman didn't want to hear publicly. Because I told the truth, I was fired publicly. I was smashed in the face, publicly. I was humiliated in front of my peers, publicly. What happened was that I told Roman Reigns the truth and I paid a price, publicly.
Kayla asks Paul if he regrets telling the truth.
Paul says he does not regret it. His role as special counsel was to tell Roman these uncomfortable truths. My role was not to protect Roman as a personality or intellectual property. I was there to protect him as champion. I tried to tell Roman in the back and all of my stuff was thrown into the hallway like a rookie. My role was to protect the championship. Make no mistake about it, Roman is the greatest Universal Champion of all time, but he needs to be protected from Brock Lesnar.
Kayla asks what is next.
Paul sips some water and he says he does not know. Maybe he go to NXT and cherry pick a top talent? Not at this stage. I put every bit of my heart, soul, and spirit into serving as special counsel for Roman Reigns because I believed in him. Maybe it is time for me to acknowledge that my career is most likely over.
