WWE NXT REPORT: THE BUILD TO NEW YEAR'S EVIL, D'ANGELO VERSUS DUNNE, STREET FIGHT, AND MORE

We are back with Io Shirai and Zoey Stark and she thanks Io for being there with her but Io says she is here for her massage.

Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde show up and try to get treatment first.

Elektra Lopez shows up and says that we know that Io is crazy but she is not afraid of her.

Io says something in Japanese and Elektra leaves.

Zoey thanks Io for standing up for her and says that Io really likes her and Io says she doesn't.

Match Number Three:  Dexter Lumis versus Trick Williams (with Carmelo Hayes)

Lumis blocks a bicycle kick from Williams and Lumis pushes Williams to the mat.  Lumis crawls on the mat and Williams goes to the floor.  Lumis with a Thesz Press and punches.  Lumis with an elbow drop and he works on the neck.  

We see Diamond Mine on the HBKBalcony.

Lumis with an uppercut.  Williams with a drop kick and a kick to the back.  Williams slams Lumis' head into the mat and then sends him to the apron.  Williams misses a baseball slide and is caught in the ring skirt.  Lumis with a thrust kick and then Lumis gives Hayes a thumbs up as Roderick Strong attacks Hayes and they fight to the back.

Lumis with a punch but Williams kicks the ropes and it hurts Lumis' shoulder.  Williams with a slam for a near fall.  Williams with a punch and another slam.  Williams with a reverse chin lock.  Lumis with elbows but Williams takes Lumis to the mat and gets a near fall.  Williams returns to the reverse chin lock.  Lumis with an arm drag to escape followed by punches.  Lumis with a clothesline into the corner followed by a bulldog.  Lumis with a belly-to-back suplex and then he hits a leg drop.  Lumis with punches and kicks and the referee warns Lumis.  Trick tries fo hit Lumis with his shoe but Lumis with a sit out choke slam into Silence and Williams drops the shoe and passes out.

Winner:  Dexter Lumis

After the match, Grayson Waller hits Lumis in the back with a chair.

We see AJ Styles arriving at the building and Waller takes a seat in the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Pete Dunne says that no one in NXT is like him.  He is a 15 year veteran and he is only 28.  He mentions his accomplishments and he is far from done.  These new guys are young and hungry, but he is the same age as them and he is hungrier.  Tony, you think you got one over me at War Games, but look at what I did to you last week. I will make sure you never forget I am the baddest man.

Grayson Waller is in the ring and he says he hates when WWE Superstars get inducted into the Hall of Fame and they thank the pathetic WWE Universe.  Like your opinion matters.  Waller says when he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame, he is going to say 'you're welcome' and 'I told you so'.  I have proven that I am THE NXT Superstar.

AJ Styles' music interrupts and he has made his NXT debut.

Waller says that he was able to bring AJ Styles to NXT.

AJ tells Waller to shut up.  AJ says this is THE Grayson Waller, the biggest jackass in NXT.  AJ says he saw Waller talking trash and he asks if he feels good about himself.  

Waller says he has gone from 'that kid has potential' to THE NXT SUPERSTAR.  Waller asks AJ why is he here.  Does he want to be the veteran to help out the new guy?  I know why you are here.  Your meal ticket left you last night and you need a new tag partner to make you relevant on Raw for a few weeks.  Waller says he is a singles guy.

AJ says you called him out to get the AJ Styles rub.  I have seen your matches.  The gloves and one elbow pad.  I don't know if it is Grayson Waller or AJ Styles I am watching.  You have potential and you are cocky, but a future superstar?  I can see Bron Breakker or Tony D.  He can see it in Carmelo Hayes.  The jury is still out on you.  Your problem is that you would rather look good and lose than look bad and win.  That is your problem.

Waller asks AJ if he saw War Games.  He carried his team to a win.  

AJ says you don't care about wins or losses, you care about swipes and likes.

Waller asks AJ why he has this attitude when your insurance policy is not here and you are in my ring.  

AJ tells Waller to do it.  You had a good three weeks and think you are a superstar?  Try being phenomenal for 20 years.  Do what you say you are going to do.

Waller takes off his shirt and then he leaves the ring.  Waller says he'll let Omos get you first.  I have next.

Malcolm Bivens says that is what happens when you disrespect us.  How about the 'A' Champion versus THE Champion.  Title versus title.  Strong tells Hayes he has two weeks to find his balls.

We are back with the latest from MSK and Riddle.  Riddle talks about the power of the scooter and what it means for their journey.  Lee says she trusts what Riddle has to say.  Carter says a scooter is like a tag team.  Riddle says that he has learned so much from MSK that he is going to tell Randy about it.  Riddle says he will be with MSK next week on NXT.  They ride on the scooters and get hit by a car.

We see Lee and Carter wake up from a dream but they have their Orton and Riddle merchandise.

Riddle shows up and he mentions MSK's match against Imperium.  

Match Number Four:  Von Wagner versus Edris Enofe

Enofe with drop kicks but Wagner catches Enofe on a cross body attempt and Wagner with a slam.  

We see Robert Stone at ringside.  

Enofe with an inside cradle for a near fall.  Wagner with a clothesline.Wagner with punches and knees.  Enofe with a sunset flip to counter a power bomb for the three count.

Winner:  Edris Enofe

After the match, Wagner attacks Enofe on the floor and sends him back into the ring.  Wagner with an Olympic Slam to Enofe.  Wagner with a short arm clothesline to Enofe.  

Imperium is with McKenzie in the back and she asks them about MSK.

Barthel says they destroyed MSK and they are trying to put themselves back together.  Aichner says they ran MSK out of town.  She asks them if they are a threat.  Barthel says they may have found a shaman on their path to enlightenment, but they have a general.

Elektra Lopez walks in the back and she says she is not nervous.  She is going to destroy Io Shirai.

We see Xyon Quinn in the background as we go to commercial.

Match Number Five:  Elektra Lopez (with Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza) versus Io Shirai

They lock up and Lopez with a slam.  Lopez with an elbow in the corner and she misses a second one.  Io with a leg sweep and then Io chokes Lopez in the corner.  Lopez kicks Io out of the corner and Lopez follows with a clothesline.  Lopez chokes Io in the ropes.  Io with a forearm and Lopez fires back.  Lopez with a spinebuster for a near fall.  Lopez with a reverse chin lock.  Io with a snap mare and shoulder tackle followed by a drop kick.  Io with a Tiger Feint Kick and she goes up top and hits a missile drop kick.  Io with a running double knee strike in the corner and she gets a near fall.

Io goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault but Lopez crotches Io.  

Xyon Quinn makes his way to the ringside area and he sends Raul Mendoza into the plexiglass and he sends Wilde into the air.  

Quinn has some mistletoe and he gets on the apron.  Escobar pulls Quinn off the apron but Quinn sends Escobar into the ring steps.  

Io with a forearm and a moonsault for the three count.

Winner:  Io Shirai

Carmelo Hayes says that he is the A Champion and I do not miss.  I will keep it the same way in 2022.  I will give you that match but I will be the one walking out wtih two titles.

We are back with comments from Brian Kendrick and he says he resigned as a coach and signed a waiver.  Harland, if you want an apology, you can get it from me next week in the ring.

Match Number Six:  Pete Dunne versus Tony D'Angelo

Tony with a wrist lock and Dunne with a reversal and hammer lock.  Dunne misses a boot to the hand.  They lock up and D'Angelo with a wrist lock.  Dunne with a reversal.  D'Angelo gets to the ropes to force a break.  D'Angelo punches Dunne.  D'Angelo with a side head lock and Dunne misses a clothesline.  D'Angelo with a belly-to-back suplex.  D'Angelo with a kick.  Dunne with a kick and chops.  D'Angelo with a back body drop.  Dunne with chops and a double wrist lock.  D'Angelo with a German suplex.  D'Angelo goes for a German suplex but Dunne lands on his feet.  Dunne with a round kick to the head and a running boot to knock D'Angelo off the apron.

Dunne with a knee drop to the hand on the apron.  D'Angelo pulls the hood off the announce table and Dunne returns to the ring.  Dunne works on the fingers and shoulder.  Dunne rubs the forearm across the ear.  Dunne works on the shoulder.  D"Angelo with a back elbow and knees to the ribs.  Dunne with knees and he works on the fingers one more time.  Dunne with a fist and elbow to the ribs.  Dunne with a knee drop on the arm.  Dunne with boots to the head and chops while holding on to the wrist.  D'Angelo misses a clothesline but hits a double leg take down.  D'Angelo with a splash into the corner.  D'Angelo with a Northern Lights suplex and he floats over but Dunne grabs the fingers and applies a triangle.

D'Angelo with a one arm T-Bone suplex.  D'Angelo with punches.  D'Angelo with a front face lock suplex that sends Dunne into the turnbuckles.  D'Angelo misses a shoulder and hits the turnbuckles.  Dunne with a boot to the head and knee drop to the hand.  Dunne with a running knee to the temple followed by a running kick for a near fall.  Dunne with a kick to the chest and then he stomps on D'Angelo's head.  Dunne and D'Angelo exchange forearms.  Dunne slaps D'Angelo and stomps on the hands and kicks D'Angelo.  D'Angelo counters a suplex into a Falcon Arrow for a near fall.  D'Angelo crawls to the corner and gets something from the steps.

D'Angelo tries to hit Dunne with the crowbar but Dunne blocks it and he applies a Fujiwara arm bar on D'Angelo and then Dunne pulls at the fingers.  D'Angelo with a fish hook and he takes the mouthpiece and sends Dunne into the turnbuckles.  D'Angelo goes for the fisherman's suplex but Dunne pulls at the fingers and hits Bitter End for the three count.

Winner:  Pete Dunne

After the match, Dunne stops D'Angelo from attacking him in the ring.  Dunne sends D'Angelo to the floor.  D'Angelo with a swinging fisherman's buster on the floor.  D'Angelo gets the crowbar and he chokes Dunne with it against the announce table.  D'Angelo hits Dunne in the hand with the crowbar.

We go to credits.
