Seth Rollins dribbles his invisible basketball to the ring.
We take a look at what Seth Rollins did last week to Finn Balor.
Seth says after last week, you might think he would be in a bad mood. Seth laughs and he says nobody can keep him down. Not Kevin Owens, not Finn Balor, not Big E, not anybody else. There is a very special reason I am in a good mood tonight. I've got a secret. Seth says he has some breaking news. Seth asks if they want to hear it and Seth calls for a drum roll.
Seth says at Day One, he will face Big E for the WWE Championship.
Day One is such a fitting name because this will be the first day of the new year. The first day of a new era. The first day in his next championship reign. A championship that will define the future of Raw and the business.
Finn Balor's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
Balor with a double leg take down and he punches Rollins and follows with a forearm. Rollins goes to the floor and Balor with a flying clothesline over the ringside barrier and then a biel across the announce table. Balor with a kick and he sends Rollins back into the ring. Rollins kicks Balor off the apron and then hits a suicide dive but it does not have the usual impact because of his puffy jacket. Balor with Slingblade and then Balor hits Rollins with the ring steps. Balor sends Rollins back into the ring and the referee tells Balor to stay back.
Match Number One: Finn Balor versus Seth Rollins
Balor with a drop kick and he goes up top but Rollins rolls to the floor. Balor with a flip dive onto Rollins.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Balor with a DDT for a near fall. Balor with kicks. Rollins drops Balor on the top rope and misses a knee off the turnbuckles but rolls through. Balor with an enzuigiri and then he goes up top but Rollins crotches Balor. Rollins sets for a superplex but Balor pushes Rollins to the mat. Rollins leaps up and hits a superplex followed by a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Rollins goes to the turnbuckles.for a frog splash but Balor with a rollup for a near fall. Balor with a double stomp for a near fall. Rollins blocks slingblade and Rollins with a slingblade followed by a thrust kick for a near fall. Rollins with forearms. Rollins misses Black Out and Balor with a running drop kick.
Balor misses Coup de Grace but Rollins misses Black Out and Balor with a rollup for a near fall. Balor and Rollins both connect with clotheslines and both go down. They exchange forearms. Balor with a Pele Kick and Rollins with an enzuigiri. Rollins misses a knee but Balor with an elevated elbow drop. Balor goes for 1916 but Rollins with a shot to the eye. Rollins with a KO and Black Out for the three count.
Winner: Seth Rollins
We take a look at last week's interaction between Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan.
Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring for a contract signing.
We are back and Vince McMahon is holding his phone and there is a knock on the door. Austin Theory enters and Vince says he hates when people ask him how he's doing. Vince talks about how he has an earache and ingrown toenail. Vince mentions Austin's match against Big E last week.
We take a look at what happened last week with Sami Zayn and Vince.
Vince says Austin will get to sit in Vince's office and watch the show. We will see if there are going to be any surprises. We are going to see if they expect the unexpected and see how they react.
Sonya Deville is in the ring to show her prowess as a leader. She introduces Becky Lynch.
Becky says it is time to bring out Liv.
Sonya introduces Liv Morgan and she makes her way to the ring.
Becky tells Liv you're welcome for your first contract signing. She says that Liv should thank her for showing some fire. Becky says that Liv has a hell of a right. What happened after that? You held yourself back. One punch isn't enough to take my title. What will happen when you have the big fight? Will you hold yourself back again? Becky tells Sonya to let her know how much time she has.
Sonya mentions the match will take place next week.
Becky tells the crowd that they should be angry that another city gets the title match. She mentions that they haven't won a match in their new arena yet, or many matches so far.
Liv tells Becky to shut up. She says if Becky doesn't want her to hold back, here she goes. She says she channeled her emotions by using her fists, not blubbering about things. Just like you did after you faced Charlotte after Survivor Series. We take a look at the video of Becky after the match.
Who knew Big Time Becks cried like a little baby? You are the reason why your friend is gone and your contract is the reason why her friends are gone. You are bully. How do you feel that you have become everything that you despised. You hate Charlotte for her making you her number two and you want me to be your number two. You are not the Becky I respected and I am not the Liv who I was.
Liv tries to punch Becky but Sonya stops her.
Becky aks Liv if she thinks she can lead this division, I pitched a five on five tag match for tonight.
The match will be Liv, Dana Brooke, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki A.S.H. versus.Becky, Tamina, Doudrop, Carmella, and Zelina Vega.
Liv tells Becky she is way to selfish to be a real leader so consider your challenge accepted.
We go to footage of Riddle and Randy Orton from last week.
Randy Orton is in the back and Riddle asks Randy if he is ready. He wants to know where his shorts are because he thought Randy was going to dress like him. Randy asks why would he do that. Riddle mentions they Freaky Fridayed last week. Riddle talks about what they did last week.
Randy says they are about to defend their titles and if you think I am going to go to the ring riding a scooter barefoot, you are more brain dead than I thought. We don't have to dress alike to keep the titles. We have to be more ruthless than everyone else. We need to be ten steps ahead of the competition.
Riddle tells Randy to close his eyes and Randy does it and Riddle puts a wig on Orton. Randy tells Riddle to take that off by the count of three.
Match Number Two: Randy Orton and Riddle versus Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler for the Raw Tag Team Championships
Ziggler and Roode attack Riddle and Orton as the bell rings. Riddle is sent into the turnbuckles. Roode and Ziggler hit a suplex and power bomb combination for a near fall. Ziggler tags in and he catapults Riddle into a Ziggler DDT for a near fall. Ziggler with a reverse chin lock and body scissors. Riddle gets to his feet and he punches Ziggler but Ziggler pulls Riddle to the mat to stop the tag. Ziggler with a punch but he misses a splash in the corner. Riddle kicks Ziggler away and tags in Orton. Orton with a power slam to Ziggler. Orton goes for an IEDDT but Roode pulls Ziggler to the floor. Orton goes for Roode and Ziggler pulls Orton to the floor. Orton kicks Roode and Ziggler and then he sends Ziggler into the announce table. Orton goes for a back drop driver onto the announce table. Ziggler with a super kick.
Roode kicks Riddle as he comes off the steps and Roode with a back drop driver to Riddle on the announce table.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Ziggler punches Orton in the corner. Roode tags in and Ziggler wtih a splash and Roode with a kick and neck breaker for a near fall. Roode with a reverse chin lock. Roode pulls Orton to the mat. Orton with a belly-to-back suplex to escape the hold. Riddle and Ziggler tag in and Riddle with a jumping knee to Ziggler and a Pele Kick to Roode. Riddle with an exploder to Ziggler and Roode. Riddle with a back senton to both men. Riddle with a running kick to Ziggler. Riddle kicks Roode and hits an IEDDT. Orton tags in and it is time for a double fist pounding but Ziggler and Roode avoid the RKOs. Riddle is sent to the floor by Roode and Ziggler with a Zig Zag to Orton for a near fall.
Ziggler has a super kick blocked and Orton with an RKO for the three count.
Winners: Randy Orton and Riddle (retain championship)
Seth Rollins walks in the back and Kevin Owens shows up.
Owens tells Seth he did good. He says it is an exciting night with the win over Finn and the title match at Day One. Kevin says he has some big news and he wants to let Seth know. Kevin says if he beats Big E tonight, he gets added to the title match at Day One.
Seth asks Kevin if he has any other jokes. Seth says that Kevin is lying.
Kevin tells Seth to ask Adam.
Seth says he does not believe Kevin because he is a liar.
Edge makes his way to the ring.
