Mark July 18th as the bane of my existence. Money in the Bank. Yay, I can’t wait to hate it.
Main event time, Bobby Lashley defends against Drew McIntyre. If Drew loses, he can’t challenge Lashley again. If that happens, creative will have to come up with a new main event program for Raw.
And, we are starting violently. After going back and forth on the floor, Drew used the chairs on Lashley’s head to get an advantage. Drew got a cane and used that on the champ. MVP was trying to get his guy going but it wasn’t working. He did come back though and went to work. The champ took a lot early on. Now he is giving it.
Well, he was. He just got White Noise on the outside steps by Drew. It’s stiff. It’s like a fight and most of it has happened outside the ring.
They made it back to the ring. We have chairs and an exposed turnbuckle. Drew got a two on a wheelbarrow slam on a chair. Drew tried to come off the top with a chair but Lashley went for a Hurt Lock. Drew got out and got a few near falls.
They are down on the floor and Drew was in control using the stairs until Lashley revered and used them against him.
MVP told Drew he asked for this and used a cane to pin Drew against the cage. Lashley then went to work on him. He put a beating on Drew. Drove his head into a chair in the ring. Lashley grabbed a cane. He beat Drew but the challenger rose up. He finally grabbed the cane to stop it. He tried to use a chair but Lashley pushed the chair into the ref. Of course Drew hit the big DDT and had the pin but the ref was out. Drew asked the outside ref to come in. Lashley went for the Lock but Drew fought out and his a Claymore. At two, MVP pulled out the ring. I should note that these two are BRUISED up. They have been killing it.
With MVP now locked in the cage, Drew beat him up. This let Lashley recover. Claymore on MVP. Drew’s back is torn up. So are his arms. Dude is a beats. He’s still working on MVP though. And Lashley came up from behind and put on the Hurt Lock. Drew backed him into a propped table to break the hold. This is brutal stuff!
They got back in the ring and Drew beat on Lashley with a chair. He went for a Claymore but Lashley ducked it. Lashley hit a uranage from the apron that put Drew through a table on the floor.
Lashley went for a spear but missed, leading to a backslide for a two. Glasgow Kiss, Future Shock DDT. He went for the Claymore but MVP grabbed his leg. Lashley rolled him up to get the pin.
Great match, weak finish. But, I had a feeling, as I said in the Tip Sheet, that Drew wouldn’t get the win. Now we will see where they go with each man as, unless WWE ignores their own story, they will not be fighting again for the near future.
