4/10 ICW NO HOLDS BARRED: FAREWELL TO THE PAWN SHOP REPORTS FROM TAMPA

By Adam Cardoza & Cory Strode on 2021-04-11 16:31:00

CORY STRODE REPORTING:

ICW No Holds Barred 12 Farewell to the Pawn Shop

What kind of show will this be?  The ring is in a brewery, the ropes and chain, and the crowd is chanting UltraViolence. The sales pitch is that there are no DQ, no rules and no holds barred.

Nolan Edwards vs Dan Maff

They start with a long staredown and it doesn't take long before they are brawling outside the ring. Maff is a huge monster of a man and Edwards looks average sized, so it's going to be a big man with power vs speed. After brawling around the crowd, they fight on top of the bar. After Edwards is tossed off the bar, they brawl through the crowd again, with Edwards basically taking a beating from Maff tossing him around. Back in the ring, Maff keeps control and sets up a door in the corner.

Maff tries to put Edwards through the door and misses, which gives Edwards the chance to hit head butts and cover Maff to get the three count.

Your Winner: Nolan Edwards

They trade chops and then shake hands after the match.  Maff then puts over Edwards on the mic.

Maybe I am getting desensitized after a weekend of no rules matches, but the commentators were more sedate than on the previous ICW show which worked much better. The swearing was toned down to “college friends hanging out” levels, which worked better as well.

Orin Veidt vs Bobby Beverly

They have set up boards with saws and steak knives in the ring. Veidt comes to the ring with a full package of light tubes.

Beverly puts the boards down before he locks up and the announcers tell us he prefers to throw hands. They lock up and trade holds until Veidt rolls out of the ring, and then it becomes a brawl through the crowd. In the brawling, Veidt has the upper hand and it becomes chair tossing. Once Beverly is able to get the upper hand, they go back in the ring. Then, the weapons come out. After using the weapons in the ring, Veidt hits a cradle shock on Beverly onto the light tubes and covers for a three count.

Your winner: Orin Veidt

After the match, Veidt says he will take out everyone in Beverly's group inside the chains

Neil Diamond Cutter vs Tank

In the ring they have mouse traps, a box of light tubes, barbed wire and more.

Tank is introduced by The Reverend who delivers a speech about fear.  Cutter  comes to the room with a staple gun to “Sweet Caroline”, and they start with violence immediately.  Tank is close to two times the size of Cutter, and he pounds and stomps the crap out of him between using a bat with thumb tacks sticking out of it, a barbed wire bat and worse.  Cutter is able to get an advantage after Tank cannonballs through a door, missing him, but Tank recovers enough to hit a Death Valley Driver through the other door.

As Cutter is trying to recover, the Reverend is in the ring to help set up the light tube box so that Tank and slam Cutter through them.  Cutter is able to get up from that, hit Tank with a cutter and a splash off the top and covers for the three count.

Your winner: Neil Diamond Cutter

Tank dances to Sweet Caroline and they two of them shake hands and hug. The crowd is led in a chant for Tank.

Satu Jinn vs Ruben Steele

The ring is cleaned and swept between matches and now we have a bunch of different stuff in the ring, and we told it's a home run derby death match.

Jinn tosses Steele into the doors to start the match. It looks like the home run gimmick is that they have a ton of plastic bats covered in thumb tacks.  The match is also more of one guy doing one weapon attack, and the other guy does a weapons attack back, back and forth using the weapons in the ring.

OK, they have a sequence where water jugs have been given handles and they beat each other with them and that was fun.  Then go back to the violence, chairs and sharp instruments. Jinn puts Steele through a board covered with thumbtack bats set on chairs and covers for the three count.

Your Winner: Satu Jinn

Jinn looks like his hand is seriously injured and goes to the back quickly after his win.

Brandon Kirk and Kasey Kirk come to the ring, with Brandon limping.  He grabs a mic and he says he appreciates everyone there, as the crowd lets him know how much they hate him. He says after 5 matches, he doesn't feel like wrestling any more.  They exit the building.

Damon Spriggle vs Alex Ocean

Spriggle is the substitute for Kirk in this match. They start with some mat wrestling and follow it with throwing hands. The violence starts with Spriggle being thrown into a barbed wire board.  As they brawl outside, Spriggle motions that he will attack Ocean's female valet and Ocean attacks him from behind and they go back to the ring. The difference of this match is that they seem to be having a brawl style match where they use the weapons when they have an advantage, rather than using them the whole time.

Kirk comes in at the end of the match and attacks both men, and puts Spriggle on top of Ocean as the ref counts the three.

Your winner: Damon Spriggle

Kirk then puts a cinder block on Ocean's head and stands on it before leaving him laying..

Shane Mercer vs SHLAK

Both guys are bodybuilder types and SHLAK is tossed into two of the doors set up in the ring, and then it's Mercer's turn to go through a door.  Lots of clubberin' and suplexes. They keep clubberin' until they knock each other out.

No Contest.

I don't know if it was because they had gone through so much over the weekend, or they wanted to switch things up.

Mercer is able to grab a mic and says they need to finish this. SHLAK says when they do, it needs to be a real death match when they do meet.

Atticus Cogar vs Reed Bentley

Bentley comes out to his music and then hides in the room next to the entrance so he can ambush Cogar.  He runs him to the ring and tries to take him out with blows, but Cogar is able to recover and get in a few shots before we go to the weapons. They then move to brawling through the crowd.

As they get back in the ring, Bobby Beverly shows to interfere, but Bentley drives him off, but Cogar uses the distraction to take control of the match. They then brawl in the ring, using a weapon when one would have an advantage. Lots of skewers used on Bentley through the match.  Greg Irons comes from the back to push Bentley off the top through a table covered with light rubes in the ring. Cogar covers for the three count.

Your winner: Atticus Cogar

We then get a video package of the feud and previous matches between Murdoch and Ryan as they set up for the main event.

They take off the canvas and padding and announce they will be fighting on the plywood. They then load up the ring with more plunder than we have seen all night. We are then shown the new title that they are fighting for.

ICW American Deathmatch Championships John Wayne Murdoch vs Eric Ryan

They start by locking up and go through standard mat wrestling with waistlocks and headlocks to start the match. Then, Ryan stomps on a box of light tubes and Murdoch picks it up and empties out onto the wood and they start wrestling again.

They then wrestle in the gloss shards on the bare wood.  They then dump a box of forks on the ring and go back to mat wrestling until it's time for them to use the forks on each other. From here on it looks to be just weapons.  In the end, Murdoch hits a brain buster on the glass and wreckage in the ring and covers for the three count.

Your winner: John Wayne Murdoch

Murdoch is given the championship and a mic. He thanks Eric Ryan for the match. He says that this is not a secondary title, it is that main title in deathmatch wrestling. He thanks people for watching all weekend. The title is raised and the show is over.
