WWE NXT REPORT: EDGE HAS A DECISION TO MAKE, BALOR HAS AN OPPONENT, THE DUSTY CLASSICS CONTINUE, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2021-02-03 22:08:00

We are back and Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa prepare for their tournament match later tonight.

Pete Dunne makes his way to the ring with the NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.

Dunne says he told Finn Balor to his face that he is not waiting any more but he didn't listen so he gave the message again and he snapped his fingers.  Don't make it any more clear than that.

Finn Balor's music plays

Finn says you say you are done waiting but you look like you are hiding behind those two clowns.

Pete says he is not hiding.

Finn says it doesn't look like that to him.

Pete tells Finn to hold that championship tight because the first chance it is mine.

Finn tells Pete that at Takeover it is Pete Dunne versus Finn Balor for the NXT Championship.

Edge's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Edge says this feels good.  A lot of times in WWE, we put the focus on the 'E'.  In NXT, the focus is on the second 'W' and that is fun.  For years I watched this show as a fan but I saw passion, hunger, fire in eyes.  What people don't know is that this show and this place helped him find his passion.  It helped me to find the passion to get my career back after nine years.  I used that passion to win the Royal Rumble on Sunday.  By winning that, it allows me to challenge any champion in this company.

I look at you two and I see two of the damn best.  You know how I feel about you Pete.  I see so much of me in you, the good and the bad.  I would have shrugged my shoulders the same way ten years ago.  I look at Balor and I see a guy on an entirely different level. You are in a zone that is fun to watch.

I am going to be watching your match at Takeover because I've never had THAT (as he points at the NXT Title belt).  No matter who wins your match at Takeover, THAT is intriguing.  If I haven't made my choice by Takeover, that fight might help me make my choice.

Johnny Gargano is in the back and he is happy McKenzie is not interviewing him.  He is asked about how The Way is doing after Austin Theory's match.  Johnny says that Austin will take care of Dexter Lumis.  He is asked about Candice and Indi.  He says the WAY it will end is with them going to the Finals of the Dusty Cup.  Johnny is asked for his thoughts on the announcement he is defending the title at Takeover.  Johnny asks who it is and Alyse says KUSHIDA.  Johnny freaks out that "McKenzie" said The K Word and he wants to go to William Regal to get her fired.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Johnny says Alyse is either going to be fired or put in crazy people jail.

KUSHIDA opens Regal's door for Gargano and he asks if Johnny has an appointment.  KUSHIDA says Mr. Regal is busy.  Johnny says he will come back later but Gargano punches KUSHIDA.  They fight down the hall and KUSHIDA kicks Gargano in the arm.

After the match, Karrion Kross comes out and he kicks Mendoza and sends Wilde into the fencing.  Mendoza is sent into the fencing as well.

Kross enters the ring and he says it seems that there is a problem between them.  I am going to give you time, but it will only lead to the inevitable.  He tells Escobar to move along.  Tick Tock.

Scarlett joins Karrion in the ring.

The Undisputed Era walk in the back and then Kyle and Bobby let Roderick and Adam go to the ring.

We go to commercial.

Edge leaves the building and he is asked if he has made a decision.  Edge says he hasn't and he wouldn't tell you.

Karrion Kross tells Edge to think logically.  It won't be Pete Dunne or Finn Balor.  It will be me getting back the title I never lost.

Edge says those words may motivate me to come back and you won't like that.
