WWE NXT REPORT: WHO IS NEXT FOR BALOR?, A GARGANO PARTY, BIVENS, GONZALEZ VERSUS MOON, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2020-12-09 22:00:00

We start off with a recap from Takeover War Games.

We are at the Capitol Wrestling Centre and your announcers are Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, and Beth Phoenix.

NXT Men's Champion Finn Balor is in the ring.

Finn says War Games is done and the time for team sports is over.  Captains, factions, bragging rights . . . not interested.  It's Wednesday and the champion is back.  Some people love me and some people hate me.  If you want to get to know me, you better come see me in this ring.  If anyone in the back . . .

Pete Dunne's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Pete says me and you are cut from the same cloth.  I came from overseas and made a name for myself, just like you.  It is about time we stand face to face.  I am glad that you are back, but don't get used to it.  It is a matter of time before I put you back on the shelf and that title will be mine.

Kyle O'Reilly comes out and he apologizes for being late because his invitation seemed to be lost in the mail.  Kyle says he wanted to insert himself into the conversation.  Peter, you are a tough man and I know.  We went to war and whose arms were raised at War Games?  The Undisputed Era.  Finn, you haven't forgotten the man who broke your jaw and took you to the limit.  You did win the match, but you spent the last two months eating your meals through a straw and we have unfinished business.  Listen to your inner voice . . .

Damian Priest makes his way to the ring.

Damian says he has been looking forward to this for a while.  No offense to Pete or Kyle, but Finn Balor versus Damian Priest for the NXT title is a marquee match.  It is something both of us want.

Pete tells Damian that he couldn't even beat Leon Ruff.

Priest asks Dunne if he is paid by Pat McAfee not to talk.

Kyle asks Damian if he is going to win a match.

Damian asks Kyle if he is going to be gone for a while.

Finn Balor leaves the ring and he says at New Year's Evil, I will be defending the title, but my opponent is up to William Regal.

Finn backs up the ramp and Karrion Kross' music plays and Scarlett makes her way to the stage and stands next to Finn.

Finn tells Scarlett that when Karrion is ready, he will be ready.

Damian wants to know if Scarlett lets her boy stay in the car while she does the work.  He tells Scarlett that he can do his business like a man.

Scarlett smiles at Priest and walks away as we go to commercial.

We are back and Pete Dunne is asked what is next for him.

Pete says he is not here to wait for an opportunity . . .

Tommaso Ciampa says he didn't think Sunday would be an easy win.  Nobody is safe.  It is time I let the past die in the past and move forward.  I don't know any other way.  Cameron Grimes, you sure are the squeakiest wheel.  You are loud, brash, and ignorant.  You are confident.  To be that loud, you have to be confident.  Maybe, you are just insecure.  Funny thing about insecurity is that it often disguises itself as confidence.  Tonight, we will find out.
