Best of 3 Series (Match 3): Kenny King vs Jay Lethal

Lethal refuses the Code of Honor, and a feeling out process ensues.  Kenny goes to work on Lethal's arm, cranking on it with holds and giving him a hammerlock slam.  King went for the hiptoss into a dropkick, Lethal dodges, and hits his own.  Lethal with a snap suplex for 2, but then King gives Lethal a Macho Man necksnap over the top rope.  Lethal dropkicks King to the floor, then sets up a chair and drop toeholds King into it.  Lethal puts the chair on King's arm and goes to Pillmanize him, but the ref distracts him long enough for King to escape.  Lethal goes for a suplex, but King reverses and sends Lethal's back crashing into the apron.  King goes right to the eyes, then hits an Impaler over the knee for 2.  King with a Maryland Crab, Lethal reaches for the ropes, and King transitions to an armbar to block that.  Lethal makes it out and they trade punches again, Lethal hits a backdrop and a clothesline, followed by a second rope dropkick, but King blocks the Lethal Injection, so Lethal hits the Royal Flush for 2.  Lethal with the springboard dropkick to send King to the floor, then Lethal with the three dives to the floor, but King disrupts it by catching dive #2 and counters to a spinebuster on the floor.  Back into the ring where King hits a blue thunder bomb, followed by a shooting star oress for a VERY close 2.  King goes for his cane, Lethal rolls him up for 2, and gets the figure four.  He lets it go and goes for the cane that Amy Rose slid into the ring.  Lethal hits the Injection and covers for 2.  Lethal stares at Amy Rose and looks real mad, causing her to run to the back.  Lethal goes for a second rope Injection, King blocks and hits a blockbuster, followed by a Lethal Injection and then a Royal Flush for the win.

Winner: Kenny King

Excellent match, and a huge win for King.

Pure Rules: Silas Young vs Jonathan Gresham

I have really been looking forward to this, I loved the Pure Title.  Young takes Gresham to the mat, and they exchange headscissors, then Young connects with a chop, which is legal in these matches, unlike a closed fist.  Young gets a waistlock and Gresham kicks his legs high enough that Young is able to sit him in the ropes and make the referee call that his first rope break.  Greco Roman knucklelock that Gresham uses to take Silas to the mat.  Young with another chop, blocks a chop from Gresham, and drops him with a shoulderblock.  Young has Gresham's foot, and Gresham picks his ankle and runs Young backward into the ropes to force his first rope break.  Young takes Gresham down with a side headlock, then wraps Gresham into an abdominal stretch.  Gresham counters to the Royal Octopus, and Young goes to the ropes for his second rope break.  Silas rolls to the floor to take a long count, then it's back into the ring where Gresham takes Young to the mat and gets a side headlock, Young counters out, Gresham schoolboys Young, then chops him.  Criss-cross ends with Young drilling Gresham with a closed fist, costing him his one and only warning.  Gresham rolls to the floor, and Young whips him into the barricade as Ian explains an update to Pure Wrestling Rules where the second punch causes a DQ, rather than costing a rope break like in the past.  Young with a snap suplex for 2, then gets a surfboard in the middle of the ring.  Young gets another abominable stretch, then transitions that into a half crab, and he sinks it in so deep that Gresham has no choice but to use up his second rope break.  Gresham blocks an O'Connor roll, so Young hits the backbreaker/clothesline combo for 2, then gets a full nelson stretch on Gresham.  Nice!  Fresham fights and fights, and makes it to the ropes for his final rope break.  Silas with a back suplex, then another, and Gresham tries to roll through a third, but collapses on landing.  Gresham goes to the second rope, but Young shoves him over the top, and Gresham audibly hits hard on the apron and tumbles to the floor.  That looked like a really, really nasty bump, but Gresham gets back in, Young hits Total Anarchy for 2, and then back to the full nelson stretch.  Gresham goes to the ropes, but he's out of rope breaks, so he uses the leg trick to get out, Young gets right back into it, tries to victory roll out of it, gets 2, then Gresham hammerlocks into the Octopus.  Hell of a sequence.  Gresham literally forces Young's hand over the rope to cause the break (that really shouldn't count, come on).  Both men are out of rope breaks, so they trade forearms in the middle of the ring, Young drops Gresham, Gresham pops up and hits an enziguiri, and his back is too hurt to suplex Young, so Young reverses and suplexes Gresham over the top rope.  Gresham hangs on, but is short enough that this spot doesn't come off anywhere near as clean as usual.  Gresham pulls the ring apron into the ring behind him, and as the ref goes to move it back out, Gresham low blows Young and gets the Royal Octopus.  Young goes for the ropes, realizes he's out of breaks, and taps.

Winner: Jonathan Gresham

Interesting finish, and Caprice points out that he did have a punch left.  Great mat wrestling here.

NWA Champion Nick Aldis & Eli Drake vs Jay & Mark Briscoe

James Storm joins Ian and Colt on commentary for this one.  Drake and Mark start us off with some chain wrestling, and Drake backs Mark to the corner to do "E, Li, Drake" but Mark fires some shots at Drake, backdrops him to the apron, and Drake knocks him back with a shoulderblock so he can get back into the ring.  Jay tags in and wants Aldis, so the NWA World Champion tags in for another wrestling sequence, but nobody gets anywhere, so they just trade punches instead.  Jay easily wins that, tags Mark in, and Mark unloads on Aldis as well.  Briscoes with the double tackle to send Aldis to the floor, but Drake blindsides Mark with a clothesline.  They head back in and Mark is caught in the wrong part of town.  He quickly turns the tide and the Briscoes trap Eli in their half of the ring as Storm points out that Brian Hebner is refereeing this match, which I believe makes him the first man to referee for WWE, TNA, and ROH.  Interesting bit of trivia if it's true!  Aldis tags in and dropkicks Jay and gets a rear chinlock on him, but Jay gets free and Mark tags in, cleaning house on both opponents.  Drake goes to the second rope, but Mark takes him off with Iconoclasm for a close 2.  Mark slams Drake and goes to the top for Froggy Bow, but Aldis distracts him long enough for Drake to hit the run up superplex.  Mark tags in Jay, and Drake quickly hits a Burning Hammer for 2.  Jay with a flying headscissors, then he and Mark hit the Redneck Boogie, Jay ripes Drake's head off with a clothesline and makes a cover, Aldis breaks at 2.  Aldis dumps Mark to the floor, Jay goes for the Jay Driller, Aldis reverses to the Texas Cloverleaf, but Mark breaks.  Aldis goes to the floor, Mark with a baseball slide, then connects with the Cactus Elbow.  Drake and Jay are brawling on the floor on the other side of the ring, and Jay dumps Drake into the crowd and they brawl through the stands as the bell rings.  Guess we'll call this...

NO CONTEST

Jay brawls with Drake to the back, then emerges alone with a beer in hand and hits Aldis in the head with it.  Cabana wants to go to the ring and Ian tries to talk him out of it as the Briscoes work Aldis over and set up a table in the ring.  They put Aldis on the table as Ian is literally begging Colt not to get involved, and here comes Camille to attack Mark.  A bunch of referees are able to remove her, as security tries to get the Briscoes to stop attacking Aldis.  The Briscoes clear them out, Aldis tries to fight back, but Jay hits him low, puts him on the table, and Mark goes to the top and puts Aldis through the table with Froggy Bow.  Marty Scurll comes out to the ring after the Briscoes clear out, helps Aldis to his feet, and helps him through the ropes.

The TV Title is on the line next on Page 3!
