WWE RAW REPORT: STEPHANIE TAKES CREDIT, TRIPLE H TALKS UNDERTAKER, ROMAN HAS HIS FIRST TITLE DEFENSE, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2018-08-20 23:00:00

We are in Brooklyn, New York and your announcers are Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Jonathan Coachman.

The new Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring and the crowd feels the same way about Roman as they did before he became the Universal Champion.

Roman says he is a man of his word.  He said he would beat Brock Lesnar and he did.   Roman says that he said when he won this title, he would defend it.  Roman says that is what he plans on doing tonight.  Roman says typically he would make it real easy and give someone the opportunity if they want to step up.  Roman says he has one man in mind.  Roman says it is funny because this man won this Universal Title in Brooklyn but he got hurt and never had the opportunity again.

Roman says since he won this in Brooklyn, he is going to defend it tonight.  Roman says the man he is going to defend it against is Finn Balor.

Finn Balor makes his way to the ring.

Finn says that he accepts Roman's challenge and he says that he is taking his title back tonight.

They shake hands so the match is official.

Baron Corbin comes out and says that while it is great to see Finn Balor versus Roman Reigns tonight, it is not going to happen.  Baron says if you are going to be rewarded for your stunt last night, you are crazy.  Baron says he was supposed to face Finn, but you no showed and you sent out the Demon.  Baron says that is cowardly and a breach of contract.  With all of the noise and smoke, he couldn't hear or see so he did not hear the bell ring.  Therefore, that match never happened.  Baron says that he is facing Finn Balor, the man.

Roman tells Baron that they are not booing Finn, they are booing you.  Roman says if he sucked as much as Baron last night, he would forget about it too.

Baron says that Roman is champion because Brock cared more about Braun Strowman than you.

Kurt Angle comes out.  Kurt says on Raw, he makes the matches, not you.  Kurt asks the people if they want to see Finn Balor versus Roman Reigns tonight and they want it.  Kurt says that will be the main event tonight.

Kurt Angle wants to know what Paul Heyman is doing here.  Paul says he has a specific mission tonight.  He says his client, Brock Lesnar, would like to invoke his rematch clause.

Kurt looks shocked that someone would do that.

Paul says that Kurt is thinking, Brock should be down the road to UFC by now.  Paul says Brock will go where he wants to go.  Brock wants to know when he is getting his rematch.

Kurt says that Brock gets a rematch, but it does not say when he gets the rematch.  Kurt says it will be a long long long long long long time until Brock gets his rematch.

Paul agrees and says he does not see it happening next week.  Paul thinks about having the rematch at . . . HELL IN A CELL.

Kurt says it will be a cold day in hell and he tells Paul Fuggedaboutit.

We are back and Baron Corbin enters Kurt's office and he yells at Kurt Angle for putting in a match against the Demon last night when he was expecting Finn Balor.  Then he is given Bobby Lashley when he was expecting Finn Balor.  Kurt says he is not here to do what is best for Baron Corbin, he is here to do what is best for the WWE.  Baron says he is going to talk to Stephanie since she is here tonight.
