Finn Balor vs Baron Corbin
Finn is the Demon in this match, and Corbin argues with the ref because this isn't what he agreed to, but Balor cuts that short by hitting a slingblade, clotheslining Corbin ot the floor, and taking him out with a dive. Balor with a slingblade on the floor, rolls Corbin into the ring, hits a leaping enziguiri, and comes off the top with a double stomp. Balor with shotgun dropkick that collapses Corbin, and Balor comes off the top with the Coup De Grace for the win.
Winner: Finn Balor
Well, that was quick. Guess we're not getting paid by the hour tonight.
Daniel Bryan is backstage getting ice and Brie comes to check on him. Bryan should have known that Miz would pull something, and Brie says not to get her started on Maryse. Bryan says he needed this, and he didn't come back to lose like that. Brie says he won't win in the end, because his persistence has brought him back to WWE and taught him to fight for his dreams. She tells him not to forget that his dream was to get back in the ring, and he did that. Brie offers to stay back here with him, and he says no, he's going to punch some walls and to go enjoy the show. They have an "okay bye" kiss and she leaves so he can stew.
US Title Match: Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jeff Hardy
Bit of a slow start as Nakamura plays his mind games, Jeff does "DELETE DELETE DELETE" and outmaneuvers Nakamura, convulsing back at him and telling him to come on. Nakamura gets a go-behind, but Hardy hits a jawbreaker and whips Nakamura to the ropes, Nakamura slides to the floor, Hardy goes after him, and Nakamura hits a sort of 619 on the apron, then puts Hardy on the apron and drills him with a running kneestrike and a leaping one off the apron. Nakamura gets a cobra clutch, Hardy gets out, catches Nakamura with a back elbow, and takes Nakamura down with a slingblade. Seems to be a popular move tonight. Jeff with the double legdrop to the ding ding and basement dropkick for 2. Nakamura quickly turns it around and puts the boots to Hardy, then goes for the full rotation Regalplex, Hardy blocks, so Nakamura puts him on the top turnbuckle and goes for the knee, Hardy blocks, and comes off the top with Whisper In The Wind for 2. Nakamura regains control with a sliding kneestrike for 2, and more kneestrikes set Hardy up for the Kinshasa, he misses, Nakamura goes for the low blow, Hardy avoids that and hits the Twist of Fate, goes to the top rope and hits the Swanton, but Hardy can't make an immediate cover. By the time he does, Nakamura has the wherewithal to grab the bottom rope at 2. Hardy with another Twist of Fate, he goes up for the Swanton again, Nakamura rolls to the apron, and Hardy goes for the Swanton on the apron, but Nakamura rolls out of the way and Hardy goes THWACK on the apron and rolls to the floor. And Matt's the one with the bad back. Nakamura rolls Hardy back into the ring and hits an ax kick, goes for the Kinshasa, and connects for the win.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
These guys never seemed to get out of first gear. I don't know what it is, anytime Nakamura gets in there with someone he SHOULD have a great match with, it just never seems to click. Randy Orton comes out like he's going to attack Hardy, but changes his mind and heads to the back.
Raw Women's Title Match: Alexa Bliss vs Ronda Rousey
Natalya comes out before the match, wearing the jacket her father wore when the HArt Foundation won the WWF Tag Team Title from Demolition at Summerslam 1990. Alexa runs from Ronda to start and tries a cheapshot, but Ronda blocks and drills her in the face. Alexa bails to the floor and tells Ronda to come back in, she'll even turn her back and cover her eyes while sitting Indian style. Alexa comes in and gets a rear chinlock sleeper thing, but Ronda just scowls as she easily gets to her feet, breaks Alexa's grip, and hits a spinning fireman's carry that sends Alexa spilling out to the floor. Ronda takes chase, Alexa gets a kick to the midsection, but Ronda catches another one, and tosses her backward over her head, the nunloads with a flurry of shots in the corner, a series of judo throws that drop Alexa HARD, and another rolling fireman's carry. Ronda drags Alexa around the ring, takes her time, looks Alexa in the eye, and cranks on the arm in a very uncomfortable looking way. Alexa's not tapping, so Ronda completely cranks the arm back and gets the quick tapout.
Winner and NEW Raw Women's Champion: Ronda Rousey
Another quick match tonight, and Alexa got NOTHING in this match. Natalya comes into the ring and hugs the new champion, then raises her hand in victory. The Bellas jump in as well to join in the celebration (and get booed), then she goes out to the crowd to make out with her husband. Feel good moment for everyone (but Alexa Bliss, I guess).
And with that...it's MAIN EVENT TIME!
Universal Title Match: Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
Wait a minute, Braun Strowman comes marching out with the briefcase, steps over the top rope, and grabs a mic. He says everyone knows the history of the briefcase, but he refuses to be a coward and cash it in when his opponent is too weak to defend themselves, so good luck to the other two because he's going to be standing right here the entire match, and he doesn't care who wins, one of them is going to get these hands. Well, that's a game changer. Reigns hits Lesnar with a Superman punch, a second one, a third, and a spear, a second spear, a third spear....BUT LESNAR CATCHES ROMAN IN A FRONT GUILLOTINE! Roman picks Brock up and drops him with a spinebuster, they both slowly stir...and Lesnar gets the front guillotine again! Roman posts his hands and starts to get back to his base, hoists Lesnar up, and another spinebuster. Lesnar takes his gloves off, both men stagger to their feet, Roman goes for another Superman punch, and Lesnar hits a German suplex, 2, 3, and Lesnar stares Strowman down as he stands stoically at ringside. Brock hauls Roman to his feet and goes for the F5, Reigns is out and goes for a spear, but Lesnar sidesteps and sends Roman through the ropes and onto Strowman. Lesnar goes out when Strowman gets to his feet and gives him an F5 on the floor, then drags Roman back to the ring. Strowman tries to grab Lesnar's ankle, but Lesnar bashes Strowman repeatedly with the case, throws it all the way up the ramp, and absolutely destroys Strowman with a chair. Lesnar smiles and says something that gets bleeped out as he rolls back into the ring, chair still in hand, and he goes to swing it at Roman, but Roman hits a spear and pins Lesnar!
Winner and NEW Universal Champion: Roman Reigns
Roman finally did it! Only took 372 tries AND a seven foot tall, 375 pound monster on the floor to distract Lesnar to get that belt off him. So I guess we're not getting a cash-in tonight? Nope, we're faded to black and Story Time is starting.
