WWE RAW REPORT: TWO MATCHES TO DETERMINE WHO GETS THE CHANCE TO FACE BROCK AT SUMMERSLAM, SUSPENSION . . . SUSHPENSION, THE B TEAM CELEBRATION CONTINUES, THE FUTURE OF BAYLEY AND SASHA, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2018-07-16 23:03:00

We begin wit ha graphic in memory of Masa Saito.

We are in Buffalo, New York and your announcers are Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman, and Corey Graves.

Kurt Angle is in the ring.  Kurt thanks every Raw superstar who competed at Extreme Rules.  They make him proud to be Raw General Manager.  There is one who has shown little dedication to Raw and that is the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar.  Kurt reminds us of the ultimatum he made last night where Brock can show up, agree to a date for his next title match, or he will strip Brock Lesnar.

Kurt says he has not heard from Brock or his representatives for 24 hours so he is stripping Brock . . .

Paul Heyman appears on the stage and he introduces himself.

Kurt says if Brock does not come out, Paul is wasting his time.

Paul says it is interesting that Kurt would say it that way.  Paul says his client, the reigning, defending, undisputed Universal Champion BROCK LESNAR . . . is not here this evening.

Kurt says he is stripping Brock of the title.

Paul tells Kurt to wait a minute as he scurries to the ring.

Paul says Kurt and the entire WWE Universe has it all wrong.  Paul says he does not blame you for that perception.  You think Brock Lesnar does not care about being the Universal Champion and his sole focus is becoming the UFC Heavyweight Champion again.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Brock Lesnar loves being in WWE.  Brock loves being the Universal Champion.

Kurt wants to know why he doesn't show up.

Paul says that Brock wants to represent the entire WWE Universe and challenge for the UFC Heavyweight Championship with the Universal Championship title around his waist so when Brock become the UFC Heavyweight Champion, he does it representing WWE as a two sport champion.  The same way that Kurt Angle challenged in his prime for all of the WWE Titles with the Olympic Gold Medal strapped around his neck.

Kurt says Brock will defend the Universal Championship at SummerSlam or he is no longer champion.

Paul says that Kurt drives a hard bargain and is a hell of a negotiator.  Brock will defend the Universal Title at SummerSlam.

Paul says on behalf of his client, he congratulates each and every one of you for your voices have been heard.  You have all screamed at the top of your lungs that you want more Brock Lesnar.  You want more of the beast, you want more of the conqueror.  If you had it your way, the WWE Network would be all Brock Lesnar all the time.  Kurt Angle has forced their hand and it is up to Kurt to determine who will be beaten, victimized, and conquered by Brock Lesnar.

Bobby Lashley's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Bobby says when he came back to WWE, he had two goals in mind.  He accomplished the first by defeating Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules.  Now it is time to accomplish the other.  Bobby says that is to beat Brock Lesnar and win the Universal Title.

Drew McIntyre comes out and he tells Lashley to hold on.  Drew asks why do you think he came back to the WWE?  Did he come back to make up the roster numbers or stand in Dolph Ziggler's corner?  He came back for change and ensure the Intercontinental Title stayed around Dolph's waist.  That was Phase One.  Now it is time for Phase Two.  Drew says it is the Universal Championship.

Seth Rollins' music plays and he makes his way to the ring.  He says if you are looking for an opponent for Brock Lesnar, he is right here.

Elias makes his way to the ring with his guitar.  He says he has one question for everybody.  Who wants to walk with Elias?  There is a lot of noise going on in this ring.  Elias says nothing sounds nicer than Elias as Universal Champion.  Elias says next week, his debut album drops.  It only makes sense that you ride that success into SummerSlam and have him face Brock Lesnar.

Finn Balor's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.  Finn says that what makes sense and he has a question . . . Who was the first Universal Champion?  It only makes sense that it should be Finn Balor against Brock Lesnar.

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring.  He says he doesn't have any excuses and he doesn't care about Brock Lesnar.  He wants someone to fight tonight.

Kurt says there will be two triple threat matches and the winners will meet next week to see who faces Brock at SummerSlam.

The first match will be Elias versus Seth Rollins versus Bobby Lashley.  The other match will be Drew McIntyre versus Finn Balor versus Roman Reigns.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring.

Drew says last night at Extreme Rules, he did everything he said he would do.  He put on an absolute clinic.  Move over Robert Downey Jr. but he is more of a Black Sabbath fan because I AM IRON MAN.  Dolph reminds everyone he is still your Intercontinental Champion.  Dolph says something special happened last night.  The Intercontinental Title main evented a WWE Pay Per View for the first time in 17 years.  It wasn't due to Seth Rollins.  Dolph says he put the entire roster on notice.  He says he gives credit where it is due.

Dolph says he respects everything that Seth did to make this championship what it is today.  You are no Dolph Ziggler.  Seth Rollins, I not only beat you once, I beat you five times.

Bobby Roode makes his way to the stage.  Bobby says Dolph is trying to give credit where credit is due.  You didn't give any credit to Drew McIntyre.  If it wasn't for Drew, you wouldn't be in this ring bragging.  You should be on your hands and knees thanking Drew because you would be at some comedy club telling bad jokes.

Dolph says while he was headlining the pay per view, how fun was it to watch him from the sidelines.
