Tonight’s Kickoff Show is hosted by Charly Caruso and she is joined by Sam Roberts and Booker T.
They talk about War Games returning after 20 years. Booker T mentions that this is a Dusty Rhodes creation. You can make history tonight, but there can be broken dreams. Charly mentions that War Games happened in 1993 in Houston. Booker talks about being in that match and being in the ring wtih legends like Sting, Davey Boy Smith, and the Shockmaster.
We see Zelina Vega and Andrade Almas entering the arena earlier tonight.
We also see Drew McIntyre walking in the back.
We have a video package for the NXT Championship Match.
Drew says he is honored to be the face of NXT. There is no feeling like it in the world and it is a dream come true. We cut to Zelina Vega interrupting an interview with Drew. We see the contract signing. Drew tells Andrade to bring his A Game, but that won't be enough because he will walk out as champion. We see what happened this week on NXT when Almas and McIntyre brawled. Zelina says that Andrade will do anything to become champion. She says that Andrade will be the next NXT Champion.
Charly says that people did not imagine Almas in this match. Sam talks about how Almas has changed from a man who focused on partying to focusing on becoming NXT Champion. Booker talks about how Drew did not succeed at first in the WWE, but he went around the world to become a champion. Sam picks Drew to win and Booker agrees.
We are back with a look at the NXT Women's Championship Match.
We have a video package.
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are in the back and Billie takes over to ask the questions to her Iconic friend. Billie asks Peyton how she is doing. Peyton says she is doing great. Billie asks Peyton about Ember Moon and Peyton says Athletic but not iconic. Nikki Cross is psychotic and not iconic. Kairi Sane is a pirate and not iconic. Peyton says she will walk out of War Games as the New NXT Women's Champion.
Booker says it is good to be confident going into the match. Booker says people want to give him credit for Ember's success because she trained for a while at his school but she has been doing this for years. Sam says Ember has the most to prove. Booker says to expect the unexpected in a Fatal Four Way Match. Sam picks Ember.
We go to Mauro Ranallo, Percy Watson, and Nigel McGuinness at the announce position. They run through the card.
Mauro runs through the rules for War Games. We are told that in addition to the rules already mentioned, if you escape the cage, you will be disqualified.
We have a video package for War Games.
Booker says it is not about the people who have been in War Games in the past, it is about the nine men who will be in the match tonight. Booker says he likes that these guys are all hungry. Sam brings up the teams and units that have been in War Games because it is about the best team, not the best person.
Charly mentions that Paul Ellering has experience in War Games so that might help the inexperience of Roderick Strong and the Authors of Pain as a team.
Sam picks Undisputed Era to win. Booker also picks Undisputed Era.
