Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of Combat Zone Wrestling's "Once In A Lifetime" from the Flyers Skatezone in Voorhees, NJ!
Tonight's event, headlined by Atsushi Onita vs. Matt Tremont, will air live on at www.HighspotsWrestlingNetwork.com as part of a subscription to the service, which is $9.99 per month.
There are a lot of local wrestlers visiting. Sam Roberts of SiriumXM and WWE Kickoff fame is also here.
There are about 1,000 fans here by my estimation.
There is a documentary crew here filming for Onita's appearance. All I heard was one of the Producers has done work for Disney.
Backstage, Matt Tremont cut a promo warning Onita that it was "Once in a Lifetime."
AERIAL ASSAULT MATCH: Ken Broadway vs. Smiley vs. Mike Graca vs. Brandon Watts
Watts is from NYWC. Smiley and Broadway are from House of Glory. They all triple dropicked Broadway out of the ring. Watts was powerbombed onto Smiley's knees. Smiley and Greca went back and forth with Smiley getting over doing some springboards into lucha takedowns. Smiley worked over Watts with chops. Broadway returned with a running knee to the face.
Another competitor, Jason Gory, entered the battle. Gory worked over Watts. Out came Anthony Bennett. He nailed a nice bodypress on Gory. Kit Osbourne was out next. He went to one of the platforms atop the ring when Pandita came out. He came out in a full Panda suit, tossing out Baboo to the crowd. He had nun-chuks and attempted to wield them against Bennett. Jimmy Lloyd out next to a big pop. Ace Romero was next.
Lloyd and Romero battled in the middle of the ring. Romero, who is a big guy, wiped him out with a Canadian Destroyer then hit a BIG dive to the outside on everyone. The place erupted for that. Watts hit a big flip dive off a platform to the floor on everyone. There was a ton of crazy highspots, way too much for anyone to type up.
Lloyd set up a table but was nailed by Watts, who placed him on it and dove off the platform with a big elbow. Smiley hit a stunner off the top of the platform. Broadway went to the top of one but Romero launched a chair at him, sending him off and to the outside through a table.
Romero and Bennett battled atop one of the platforms. Bennett was sent down rudely atop a table but bounced off. Romero climbed down, which the crowd booed, and put him back atop the table. Romero hit an insane swanton off, crushing Bennett through the table and scored the pin.
Your winner, Ace Romero!
Absolutely nutty opener!!!!
Greg Excellent came out and began cutting a promo as Ace Romero was in the ring. They used the promo as a way to take the platforms down.
A team called CCK did a promo on the screen. Another team, came to the aisle asking who they were and complaining they weren't getting opportunities. They demanded a title shot. Maven Bentley came out and told them if they want a title shot, they need to earn it. He reminded them he was the boss and told them they were going to be in the Chris Cash Memorial Ladder match and if they win, they can face Private Party.
CZW Wired champion MJF vs. John Silver
Silver got a nice reaction coming out. He took down MJF immediately and worked him over with hard kicks to the chest. They battled to the floor with Silver controlling the action. He tossed MJF hard into the barrier several times. MJF cut him off as they returned to the ring and attacked his arm, slamming him with a powerbmb.
MJF worked him over on the mat as the crowd chanted for Silver. Silver cut him off in the corner and nailed an elbow to the side of the head. He nailed several big clotheslines and a Beal toss acrss the ring, then repeated the toss again. They exchanged blows in the center with Silver firing up and unloading with hard chops and slaps. He nailed a superkick and nailed a rolling Canadian Destroyer. MJF grabbed Silver and jumped on his back, nailing a piledriver variation for the pin.Your winner and still CZW Wired champion MJF!
