I missed the first two matches due to it being so damned early here. Looks like they played it by the numbers with the Smackdown women’s match. The Tag Titles changed hands, which is kind of surprising since Gallows and Anderson really haven’t gotten much of, OK any, Push.
Nia Jax versus Sasha banks was the first pre-show should match that I watched. Sasha was not wearing a knee brace. Nia attacked and beat her up and then they went to a commercial. I hate commercials during matches on the Network. It totally kills the flow.
When they came back Nia was in control and Sasha fought back until she hit double knees from the top for a two count. But during the move she hurt the knee again. Nia popped up and hit The Samoan Drop for the pin seconds later. If Charlotte beats Bayley it wouldn't shock me to Nia fight for the Women's Title at WrestleMania. The match was too short and chopped up to grade.
Before they went to the main show, Shawn Michaels came out and warmed up the crowd.
The main show starts now. We are opening up with Charlotte vs. Bayley for the Raw Women's Title.
Bayley got a good pop. Charlotte’s was mixed. This should be good. I hope it’s great.
Cole said that over 52,000 are in attendance.
Bayley started out strongly, hitting some flying spots on Charlotte and then dragging her back in for a two count. Charlotte went to the floor but when Bayley chased her, Charlotte drove her face first into the apron. She brought her back in the ring and got a two. She then went to work on the challenger. Charlotte got a few near falls while Bayley kept trying to fight back. Charlotte got a little cocky and it led to a double clothesline. That turned into a chopfest. Bayley came back and got a nice reaction from the crowd. She drove the champ down face first and went up to the top rope. She took a while to get balanced so she jumped down as Charlotte started moving. She set Charlotte up for the Savage Elbow and got a two count. Charlotte came back with the Figure Four. Bayley fought to keep it from going to the Figure Eight and turned it over but then it was reversed to the Figure Eight. Charlotte was using the ropes so the ref broke it. It look like the elbow busted Charlotte up in the mouth. Charlotte hit the moonsault but Charlotte got the knees up. Two count or Bayley.
Bayley got dumped from the top to the floor. Charlotte then stalked her on the apron and hit Natural Selection for the pin.
It was a very good match to start the show as Charlotte goes 16-0. It was hurt a little bit by the fact that the fact that it seemed like no one gave Bayley a real chance to win.
Wow, they are putting Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal Title up next. Chris Jericho will be inside the Shark Cage.
KO came out first. I hate when they send him out first. He was accompanied by Chris Jericho. Reigns was out next and every male that ever had a good looking guy take their girlfriend from them booed! I am kidding. Kind of. Reigns laughed and said, “And I dumped her after I took her from you” to one boo bird. Again, I am kidding. Kind of. Cole said that the no DQ stip hurts Cole because he can’t retain the Title by DQ. Why do these guys forget that it can also help him because he can cheat at will and not lose? The reaction was mixed for both guys. I love when the boo birds have to fight to get their voice heard concerning Reigns.
Right after I wrote that, Jericho and KO attacked Reigns together. See what I was saying earlier? Reigns made his own save and beat up Jericho and tossed him into the cage. Away he went. Some fans cheered. And you know who booed. As Jericho went up, more people booed. Jericho was not checked by the ref before he went up so he could very well have contraband to drop.
The went out to the floor immediate where Reigns worked over KO. KO was in retreat mode. But he made his comeback throwing Reigns into the steps on the floor and went to work on Reigns with a chair and the monitor. Owens did a cannonball on Reigns into the barricade and got a good pop. KO set up a chair of death set and went to powerbomb Reigns through it. Reigns got out. He tried to put KO through it but he powered out. They got back in the ring where Reigns used big clotheslines. Fans booed. If he wins the Title they were really boo.
Reigns went to use a table when KO hit the Backstabber for a two. KO pushed the table out of the ring and went to work on Reigns. Well he tried. He ran into a boot and a sit out powerbomb but kicked out at two. KO was on the floor when Reigns nailed him with a running kick. Roman set up a table on the floor. KO kicked him twice and laid him out on it. He went up and hit a Frog Splash from the top and put Reigns through the table. STIFF! Anyone booing Reigns that can’t appreciate him taking that is just wrong. KO brought him in the ring and got a two. KO then destroyed Reign’s back with a chair and got another two. He put the chair between the top and second ropes and went over to Reigns. He went to whip Reigns into it and he powered out. He threw clotheslines on Owens but ran into a forearm. Then Reigns returned the favor. They were going back and forth when Owens threw Reigns into the chair. He only got a two. Jericho then tossed KO brass knuckles. KO mocked Reigns and set up for the Superman Punch but missed. Reigns went for the knuckles but KO hit him with a Punch, but only got a two. I think he lost the knuckles before he hit him. KO was going for a backdrop on the chair when Reigns reversed and hit a Samoan Drop. Two count for Reigns. These guys are killing themselves. No matter how you feel about Reigns you have to appreciate his work here.
The heel fans were loudly chanting for Owens. While the champ was down in the ring, Reigns went to the floor and got a table from under the ring. He set it up in the corner but KO got away. Reigns hit a Superman Punch and got a two. KO got up in front of the table but Austin moved and hit a Stunner for a two count.
