We begin with a look back at what happened last week on Raw and on Payback between Roman Reigns, The Usos, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and AJ Styles. Tonight we will see this escalate to the next level with a six man elimination tag match to build on Monday's six man tag match and Thursday's tag match that turned into another six man tag match.
We are in Omaha, Nebraska and your announcers are Michael Cole, John Layfield, and Byron Saxton.
Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring for the Highlight Reel.
Chris says his guest tonight was supposed to be Dean Ambrose, but Dean is not here because of him. He assaulted Dean last week and he suffered from vertigo and a bulging disc. Dean might not be in the WWE for a long time because of him. Chris says he has the next best thing here . . . Chris reveals the remains of "Mitch". Chris says there are many similarities. Dean tried to be wacky when he tried to entertain you. Mitch also failed to comprehend the power of Chris Jericho. They are a shattered mess of dust and bones waiting to be put back together again. Chris says he seriously injures Dean and he is in a hospital. How do you react?
Chris shows the tweets about "Mitch" When Dean was screaming in pain in the hospital it was no laughing matter. Chris says he likes Mitch more. He has more worth to the WWE than Mitch. He can be put together and sold for $12 and be worth more than Dean Ambrose is to the WWE. Chris says he knows why you relate to Dean. It is because he is a loser like you. He is a slob and everyman, just like you. Chris says he is a legend. He is the Superstar of All Superstars. He is the Halley's Comet of the WWE. Talent like him only comes around once every 76 years. Chris says that he knows what you want and he will give it to you. He will give you the gift of Jericho.
Colin Cassady interrupts Jericho and he makes his way to the ring.
Chris wants to know who Colin is.
Colin says this is the gift of Jericho? If you ever hand this to him as a gift, you better hand him the receipt because the moment you turn around, he is returning it to the store. How you doin'?
Jericho asks Colin if he knows who he is.
Colin says he knows who Chris is. He is one of the greatest of all time. Chris does not know about the new era. It is not a cry for attention, it is a warning. Consider this a warning. He has arrived. Right now, you are standing in his way. You better get out of his way or he will run through you.
Chris tells Colin to run to the hospital to check on your little buddy. Chris says that Enzo is in the same ward as Dean.
Colin says in the new era, we stand and fight. He says they can fight right now.
Chris asks Colin if he has forgotten that the is the best . . .
Colin interrupts and he says that Chris is the best in the world at what he does, but Colin reminds Chris he is seven feet tall . . . and you can't teach that.
Chris says if you want to fight . . . he takes off his jacket and throws down the mic. Chris walks away.
Colin says that with Chris running away, there is only one word to describe him and he is going to spell it out for him.
Chris runs back to the ring and Colin with a boot to knock Jericho off the apron.
We are back and Chris Jericho is in the back and he stops Stephanie to see if she saw what just happened. Chris says there is no respect with the New Era. Chris says that Shane is drunk with power and Stephanie is the better McMahon.
Stephanie says this is all Shane's fault. This anything goes environment. Stephanie says that she thinks Shane is doing the right thing. She tells Chris that he can do something about it tonight in the main event against Big Cass. Stephanie tells Chris never to try to put a wedge between her and her brother. She tells Chris never eeeeeever do it agayne.
Baron Corbin was in the Goldman Box. He says that he is not part of a New Era. This is the Baron Corbin Era. It is an era where he does not give a damn about anyone in this world, especially Dolph Ziggler.
Match Number One: Dolph Ziggler versus Baron Corbin
Ziggler wtih a waist lock but Corbin backs Ziggler into the corner and connects with an elbow. Corbin punches Ziggler in the corner but Ziggler punches back. Corbin goes to the floor and Ziggler follows but Corbin gets a knee up when Ziggler goes for a splash against the ringside barrier. Corbin with a punch but he misses a boot and Ziggler wtih a drop kick to send Corbin into the crowd. Ziggler gets back into the ring and we go to commercial.
We are back and Corbin with a quarter nelson and chin lock. Ziggler with punches but Corbin holds on. Corbin runs into an uppercut and Ziggler wtih two flying clotheslines followed by a splash and neck breaker. Ziggler sets for the leaping elbow drop to complete the moves of doom and he gets a near fall. Corbin sends Ziggler into the turnbuckles on a Fameasser attempt. Corbin with a Northern Lariat and he follows with more shots to the back of the head.
Ziggler with a kick and Fameasser after playing possum and Ziggler gets a near fall. Ziggler goes for the Zig Zag but Corbin was on the ropes so Corbin pushes him away. Corbin with Deep Six for a near fall. Ziggler with a rollup for a near fall. Ziggler with a splash and punches in the corner but Corbin with a hot shot and End of Days for the three count.
Winner: Baron Corbin
We go to commercial.
We are back and we take a look back at what evolved from the Payback controversy in the Women's Title Match on last week's Raw.
Shane McMahon is on the phone in his office and Charlotte enters with her father Ric. Ric says they loved what Shane did at Wrestlemania and what he has done since his return to Raw. Charlotte says that Stephanie made a mistake by banning Ric from ringside. Charlotte says that she knows that Shane will fix things.
Shane tries to clarify what Charlotte asked. Shane says that will stand for Extreme Rules and it will also apply tonight.
Ric is incredulous that Shane would do that.
JoJo is in the interview area with Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and AJ Styles.
She asks them about their elimination match later tonight. AJ brings up what happened last week. He got power bombed through the announce table. He had a chance to obliterate Roman with a steel chair but he did not. We saw what Roman did. He will not hestitate to attack Roman if the opportunity avails itself. AJ says tonight the Club is back together.
We go to commercial.
Match Number Two: Fandango (with Goldust) versus R Truth (with Tyler Breeze)
They lock up and Fandango with a side head lock and shoudler tackle. Truth stops Fandango and he dances around. Truth with a hip toss and he does a split. Truth wtih punches and then he does more dancing. Truth goes to the turnbuckles where he punches Fandango. Fandango sends Truth over the top rope to the floor. Fandango sends Truth back into the ring and Fandango with a punch. Truth wtih punches but Fandango with a drop kick.
Goldust gets on the apron and he starts to dance. Breeze gets on the apron but he doesn't really care but he is knocked off the apron. Truth with the Lie Detector for the three count.
Winner: R Truth
After the match, Goldust gets on the apron while Breeze is a little frustrated he got knocked off the apron.
We see Miz, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, and Miz in the office with Shane and Stephanie. Stephanie says it will be a Triple Threat Match at Extreme Rules.
Miz does not like the idea of possibly losing the title without being pinned.
Sami Zayn enters and he says that he disagrees. If the New Era is about chances. Kevin reminds everyone he lost.
Shane says Sami needs to earn his match.
Sami says that if he can beat Miz, the match should be a Fatal Four Way.
Shane and Stephanie like the idea while Miz and Maryse do not like it.
Everyone leaves but Shane and Stephanie and Shane compliments Stephanie's handling of the situation and Stephanie says they handled it well.
We go to commercial.
