Roman Reigns told Jojo tonight is about everything. Things will change between Dean and I. Dean shows up and says damn right things are going to change. One of us will be on the side of the road. He has done his share of hitchhiking. Roman says don't book it yet. He said he already booked it through Priceline. Jojo asked about Brock Lesnar. Dean said it won't be him. Roman said it will be.....one of us, clearly thinking it will be him.
Charlotte vs. Brie Bella is up next. Before the match, they gave us footage of Daniel Bryan's retirement.
Brie was fighting hard early on. Then Charlotte took over and started working over Brie, trash talking her while she did it. Brie kept coming back but Charlotte was in control until she mocked Daniel Bryan, which led to Brie Mode happening. She used a forearm to get a two count. Charlotte came back with chops and a neckbreaker but Brie rolled her up for a two. Charlotte had some blood on the nose. She went for the Figure 8 but Brie countered and hit a few dropkicks on her. Brie went up top and hit a nice dropkick but sold that she hurt her left leg so she couldn't make a cover. Then a second later she came back and hit kicks, so much for selling. Brie did a face plant and got a two. The crowd was behind her. She went back to selling the left leg. Charlotte went for the Figure 8 but Brie locked in the Yes Lock. Ric Flair got involved so Brie turned it into a one legged crab. Charlotte finally kicked out and locked on the Figure 8, with Brie immediately tapping out.
Ok, it wasn't Bayley vs. Sasha but it could have been the best match I have ever seen Brie have. She wrestled very hard and probably has as good of a match as she cool. Good for her. Charlotte sold for her like a pro.
AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho is next. Please, please, please let AJ show the world what he is capable of Vince, PLEASE!!!!
Jericho did a promo on the way to the ring that was good. He basically said Styles is good. Maybe he is great. Is he is Phenomenal? We are about to find out. I was hoping he would quote Edward G. Robinson from the end of the classic movie, "The Cincinnati Kid", but he didn't. Maybe two of you will get that reference. Consider it my JBL moment.
They got dueling chants early on. They are off to a good start where they aren't going insane but the work is great and crisp.
Sorry I am not typing much, I am just enjoying the hell out of this. They are letting them go. It's a hell of a lot of fun!
AJ tried to come off of the top but Jericho stopped it and turned it into the Walls. AJ fought and got to the ropes to break the hold. He rolled to the floor and Jericho didn't want a count out so he went out and put the Walls on again. Jericho brought him and called AJ a stupid SOB and man for not giving up. The crowd got behind AJ, and to a lesser degree Y2J. Jericho is doing what a pro does in this match. And then, Jericho got reversed and ate a Styles Clash. Two count only. AJ locked on the Calf Crusher. Jericho fought like hell and didn't want to, but finally tapped out. AJ gets the win.
This was freaking awesome. AJ did what AJ does and WWE let him do it. It may be one night, but I loved it. Great stuff. And kudos to Jericho for being a veteran stud here. Great stuff.
