WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: A NEW REFEREE, ORTON AND NAKAMURA ARE A TEAM BEFORE THEY ARE OPPONENTS, NATALYA HAS A FEW BUSY WEEKS, THE US OPEN CHALLENGE RETURNS, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2017-08-29 22:00:00

We are back and Aiden English is singing in the ring, but Kevin Owens interrupts the performance.

Kevin makes his way to the ring and he has a mic.  He tells Mr. English that none of these unrefined Arkansas hillbillies can recognize his talent.  He asks Aiden to leave so he can get to his business.

Aiden leaves the ring.

Kevin says he does not appreciate last week.  Last week, they had an agreement that Kevin could pick the referee and instead, Shane McMahon got involved.  We see what happened when Shane McMahon shamed Baron Corbin to relinquish his refereeing duties and took off the only referee's shirt available for the match.

Kevin asks what gives Shane McMahon the right to put his hands on the official referee for the match?  Then he puts on the referee shirt to make the three count.  One year ago, the greatest moment in WWE history happened when he became the Universal Champion.  Kevin stands here not a champion and he is without his United States Title because Shane McMahon screwed him out of it not once, but twice.  This would not have happened on Raw.  The lovely Stephanie McMahon would not have abused her power in such a manner.

This is Smackdown, the Land of Opportunity.  This is Shane McMahon's personal playground . . .

Shane's music plays and Kevin says he is out right on cue to take the spotlight away from the actual talent and make it all about himself.

Shane says he is here to help Kevin.  He says Kevin needs an explanation for last week.  You picked your referee for your match against AJ Styles and you picked Baron Corbin.  Baron came out and was extremely biased and that made Shane come down.  Baron left the ring and he was done.  That match needed an official and he went into the ring and counted Kevin's shoulders down for a three count.

Kevin says that Shane screwed him again.

Shane says you can call it whatever you want.  This conversation is over.  The people watching Smackdown are tired of hearing you complain.  Shane asks Kevin to leave the ring Aiden English has a match against . . . Sami Zayn.

Kevin joins the commentary team and Kevin has some words for Byron Saxton.

Match Number Four:  Sami Zayn versus Aiden English

After the match, Kevin returns the referee's shirt to the referee.

We go to commercial.

We are back with a look at what Kevin Owens did during the last match.

Renee Young asks Shane McMahon about what just happens.  Shane says that last match did not count because of what Kevin did.  Shane says he heard Kevin Owens left the building and he is going to deal with this.

We go to the interview area and Dolph Ziggler is there.  Dolph is asked about the new side of him that he was going to reveal.  He says we are in Little Rock so you can expect nothing.  He is asked what has motivated his desire for change.  He says being the best athlete in Sports Entertainment but having nothing to show in ten years.  He says he is a star.  People get distracted by twinkling lights, sequinned jackets, and the John Cena hand gesture.

Dolph asks if you want to see him playing a guitar or riding a motorcyle to the ring.  He can get on a dumb four wheeler like Stone Cold and he can spill beers on himself.  He can have paint poured on him and ignore that he is a charisma vaccum.  He can have a beautiful woman escort him to the ring.  He can be a superhero.  If you want all flash and no substance, you will get that next week.

Natalya shows up and she tells Carmella if she tries to cash in, she will make Carmella the Baron Corbin of the Women's Division.  Natalya tells Carmella she is going to get her revenge for last week when they meet next week.

Naomi shows up after James and Carmella leave.  Naomi tells Natalya she should take a cat nap since Natalya has a tough two weeks.  Naomi says that after Natalya's match against Carmella next week, Naomi gets her rematch in two weeks.
