2002 - KMOL, the NBC affiliate in San Antonio, TX, reported that Steve Austin had been "arrested on charges of spousal abuse". The charges stem from a June 15 incident where police were called to Austin's home after an alleged altercation with his wife Debra. At the time, Debra claimed that her husband punched her in the face and back when she called police. Austin fled the home before police arrived that day. According to KMOL, the pending charge is a class A misdemeanor assault. He could get up to a year in prison if convicted and/or pay a $4,000 fine. The report said that Austin is "expected to spend very little if any time in jail."
The San Antonio Express News reported that Austin turned himself into authorities. He came to the courthouse with his lawyers. He was charged with an assault that caused a bodily injury, was booked and fingerprinted before posting his bond. A judge signed off on the arrest warrant on Monday after he read the police report and a complaint filed by Austin's wife Debra. It appears that the district attorney's office pursued the case on their own.

2002 - WWE held a Smackdown taping in Seattle, Washington. Michael Roe filed the following live report:
Dark match
Randy Orton pinned Mike Awesome.
Velocity tapings
Michael Cole and Marc Loyd came out for Velocity.
1. Hardcore Holly pinned Rico after his slam.
2. Bull Buchanan pinned Albert with his leg drop variation.
3. John Cena pinned Reverend D-Von with the rollup. D-Von took out his anger afterwards with a neckbreaker, followed by a flying headbutt.
4. Funaki & Billy Kidman (with Torrie Wilson) beat Tajiri & Jaime Noble (with Nidia) when Funaki pinned Tajiri. There was a catfight during the match between Nidia and Torrie Wilson.
Smackdown tapings
Tazz and Michael Cole came out for SmackDown.
Brock and Paul Heyman walked down to the ring. Footage aired of Brock’s brutal attack on Hulk Hogan while Heyman put over his ‘client’. Rikishi interrupted, and despite Paul Heyman’s protests, entered the ring to promote their match.
Commercial break
1. Billy, Chuck and Rico beat the Hurricane, Shannon Moore and Hardcore Holly when Chuck pinned Shannon Moore, after Billy came in while the ref was distracted and hit the One and Only.
After the match, Billy, Chuck and Rico teamed up on Shannon Moore. Hardcore tried to make the save, but Matt Hardy ran out and finally helped run off the heels, giving us tonight’s jump.
Stephanie was in full bitch mode, telling Dawn Marie how she screwed up since Rob Van Dam didn’t know about his return match. Stephanie talked about how this was a threat to SmackDown’s most important title, and how if Dawn Marie screwed up again, she’d be fired. Stephanie also lecture Dawn Marie about covering herself up more. (Is she a heel?)
Edge was shown coming in backstage.
Commercial break
Matt Hardy talked backstage about being back together with his old buddies, Hurricane and Shannon Moore, and also thanked Hardcore Holly. Matt said that they would now be seeing Matt Hardy, version 1 (whatever the blue hell that means… so, is he a heel or what?).
Stephanie was shown backstage, and Chris Benoit walked in, getting ready for the main event that night of Rock versus Chris Benoit. Stephanie asked Benoit to make Rock tap, and Benoit promised to do better than that and make Rock squeal. (So, is Steph a face or what?)
Marc Loyd was interviewing Kurt Angle backstage, and made reference to Funaki giving him competition (which actually wasn’t shown until later for some reason). Kurt mentioned how Rey Mysterio, Jr. cheated, and how he hadn’t really been beaten. The fans were doing the annoying ‘WHAT?!’ chants at this time, and I hope to God that they are edited out. Rey walked up to Angle, but Angle said that you had to be ‘this high’ [holds hand up about throat height] to talk to Kurt Angle. Rey challenged Kurt to a SummerSlam match, which Kurt accepted. Kurt called Rey ‘little man’ and Rey walked off. Mark Henry came up behind Angle and asked who you calling little man, little man? Angle got indignant, and said world’s strongest man huh? Is that for weight lifting or [sniff sniff] body odor? Henry challenged Angle to a match tonight, which he accepted.
Commercial break
Mark Henry tapped out to Kurt Angle’s ankle lock.
Rey Mysterio, Jr. ran out afterward to attack Kurt. He bounced back into the ropes a couple times, preparing for the 6-1-9, but Kurt wasn’t in position yet, and when he was, Rey accidentally got tangled up in the ropes (which in all likelihood will be edited out on TV) before finally hitting it. He also did it again on Kurt while walking out, but messed up once and accidentally jumped out the ropes before getting back in and doing the 619 the right way again, though Kurt was out of range by now.
Commercial break
Brock Lesnar pinned Rikishi after the F5.
Rikishi set up Brock for the stinkface, but Paul Heyman tried to interfere. Rikishi set him up for the stinkface too, and was about to do it when Brock got back up and performed the F5 on Rikishi (good gosh…).
Commercial break
Quick backstage shot of Torrie Wilson stretching (yowza).
Funaki interviewed Nidia backstage (thus making that earlier segment make sense), and actually spoke pretty decent English (I’m so disillusioned). Nidia was trying to get Funaki to feel her boobs, and right before she was going to pull his hands onto her boobs, Batista threw someone down through the door saying "How’s that for respect?!" and the camera panned to show D-Von on the ground.
Nidia (with Jamie Noble) pins Torrie Wilson (with Billy Kidman) after a clothesline from Jamie Noble that the referee did not see.
Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. did a promo backstage, promoting their match against Edge and Rey Mysterio, Jr. Eddie had the family on the cell phone, and went on to list about 50 zillion relatives (including Hector) that were on the phone. Chavo mentioned Eddie being speared, but Eddie said that he has more charisma that Edge, and went on to show off his smile. Chavo gave an expression to show how stupid he thought the smile was, but didn’t let on to Eddie.
Commercial break
Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Edge won by DQ over Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. when Kurt Angle ran out and put the ankle lock on Rey on the outside. Rey hobbled to the back during the break after hugging Edge.
Commercial break
I think this was where it aired, though not sure… A Subway commercial came on, but instead of the usual pitchman, it was Eric Bischoff eating a Subway sandwich with a big Raw logo behind him. He said there was no better time to eat a delicious Subway sandwich than during Raw next Monday, with a main event of Triple H versus the Rock.
Rock had an absolutely off the charts promo with Marc Loyd. He started with the FINALLY! back in Seattle bit. He asked Loyd what ‘squeal’ meant and asked Loyd to bend over, which he did, leading Rock to call him a sick freak. What he MEANT was that he wanted Loyd to bend over backwards to explain what ‘squeal’ meant. He said that, to make sure Benoit understood, he spoke in German, then Chinese, before speaking in ‘American’ and saying "Just bring it!"
Commercial break
A new Desire video aired, including newer wrestlers like John Cena and Rey Mysterio, Jr. It was fantastic.
While Rock was coming out for the main event, a couple Raw staffers walked by with a GIANT banner that promoted Raw’s main event of Triple H versus Rock.
Rock pinned Benoit after a Rock Bottom.
Before the finish, Brock Lesnar was running down as Rock prepared for the People’s Elbow, but Rock ran outside the ring instead of the second rope bounce to stand up to Lesnar. Benoit jumped Rock while he was outside the ring and applied the crossface, but Rock got the pin after getting back in the ring. Rock and Benoit stared each other down as Benoit went up the rampway as the show finished up.
Post-show
Rock said that he had been in Seattle for four days (why was he here for four days?) and didn’t want to leave, so he called Brock back out. Brock came out, and we got a little SummerSlam preview. Brock almost got the F5, but Rock reversed it and hit the Rock Bottom. Brock rolled out and left. Rock hit the ring-posts, flashing his title for the crowd to finish the show.
Overall, an excellent show, though the post-show on Raw could NOT be beat, so they didn’t try. It was interesting to see that, during Velocity, Marc Loyd and Michael Cole don’t even talk into their microphones. Also, the fans were really, really expecting (hoping?) Hogan would come out to take Brock down when he came out at the end, and a lot of people were left disappointed that Hogan never showed up. Also, a group of fans held up a Canadian flag and were shouting out things about Canada being cool, leading to other fans holding up a USA flag and a GIGANTIC USA chant starting. A fight started with the Canadian fans, and I saw a guy being taken out on a stretcher out of the show. Things opened up with the Kid Rock "Lonely Road of Faith" video.
Top Pops
1. Rock
2. Rikishi (Dang, didn’t expect THAT one)
3. Edge
Top Heat
1. Brock Lesnar (I think killing Hogan finally got him over)
2. Stephanie McMahon (for several reasons, such as being anti-Rock and telling Dawn Marie to cover up… what the hell?!)
3. Rico

2008 - WWE broadcast Raw. Richard Trionfo filed the following TV report:
Last night, the WWE presented their SummerSlam pay per view and from the Raw brand; we saw a few titles change while one was successfully defended and another was not even mentioned on the pay per view. The big story from last night was not in a match, it was when Chris Jericho channeled fellow Canadian Robert Roode to punch the Shawn Michaels’s wife who channeled Booker T and Sharmell. Another big story from last night was the first match between John Cena and Batista in a WWE ring which saw Batista defeat the Raw Brand Superman, John Cena. History was made as we got two new champions in one match as Santino Marella and the new love of his life Beth Phoenix turned Mickie James into death meat to win the Intercontinental Title and Women’s Title. Which title will each take on tonight’s show? Who will be the first challengers for the new champions? What fun things will The Adamle come up with to build up to Unforgiven?
We are live from the Chicago Metropolitan area in Illinois, and your announcers are Michael ‘Stand Back . . . there’s a Hurricane coming through’ Cole and Jerry ‘The Abe Froman of Wrestling’ Lawler.
We begin tonight’s show with Chris Jericho coming to the ring. He says that he is not here to apologize for what happened at SummerSlam. If anyone should apologize for what happened to Rebecca, it should be Shawn Michaels. Chris says that he did not put Shawn’s wife in harm’s way, Shawn did. Let’s go to the video tape.
We are back and the crowd is booing. Chris continues to soak in the crowd’s hatred. He says that Shawn knew exactly what was going to happen last night. Instead of sending in a letter of resignation or by video, he wanted to see his name in lights one last time. He wanted to come out and placate his ego one more time. He wanted to see the fans beg and plead for him to not give up and go home. As a result, everyone is responsible for what happened to Rebecca Michaels. He says that the fans should be ashamed of themselves for that. Ultimately, Shawn Michaels is for blame. All Shawn had to do was look him in the eye and say that it was Chris who ended his career. If Shawn would have shown one ounce of humility, this wouldn’t have happened. Shawn’s career is over. He might have bragged about his accomplishments and mentioned all of his nicknames. The last moment of his career in the ring was cradling the head of his injured wife, knowing that he was responsible for it. He says that Shawn has tarnished his legacy and he will have to live with that for the rest of his life.
Chris tells Shawn that he thinks Shawn deserved it. He says that Shawn had it coming. Chris leaves the ring and he walks to the back. We go to commercial.

They lock up and Burchill with a kick to the knee when Batista gives a clean break. Burchill with a side head lock but Batista with a shoulder tackle. Burchill with a kick to the chest and then he goes for the knee. Batista with an Irish whip and running clothesline into the corner. Batista with another Irish whip and then Burchill gets out of a power slam attempt and he clips Batista. Burchill works on the knee again. Batista with a spear when Burchill turns around after talking to the referee. Batista runs Burchill into the corner and connects with shoulders. Batista with a spinebuster and then it is time for the Batista Bomb and the three count.
Winner: Batista
Mike Adamle is in the interview area and he is with the newest member of the Raw brand. The man is Primo Colon and he is the brother of Carlito. Adamle interrupts Primo’s comments when he sees John Cena. Adamle wants to give Cena a heads up on his match tonight.
Cena walks away and he conveniently walks up to Batista. Cena says that it was a great match last night and the better man won. Cena and Batista shake hands. Cena says that was last night and then he walks away. We go to commercial.
We are back and Jillian and Katie Lea are in the ring. Jillian says that she is so excited to be in Chicago. She says this is one of her favorite cities and one of her favorite groups. Jillian says that she is going to sing one of their songs.
Match Number Two: Jillian Hall and Katie Lea versus Mickie James and Kelly Kelly
Jillian and Mickie start things off and Mickie works on the arm with a wrist lock. Jillian with a knee. Jillian with a monkey flip but Mickie lands on her feet and she hits a drop kick. Katie makes the tag and Mickie with a head scissors and side head lock take down. Mickie takes Katie down and gets a near fall. Kelly tags in and he hits a sunset flip on Katie for a near fall. 2010 - TNA signed Becky Bayless, who appears as Cookie for the promotion.
2011 - TNA broadcast Impact. Stu Carapola filed the following TV report:
Welcome to the Impact Wrestling Report here on PWInsider.com!
We start with a recap of last week's events that saw Kurt Angle reveal Hulk Hogan as the one man telling him the truth as Dixie Carter facilitated Karen's affair with Jeff Jarrett, and how he now plans to destroy all the young talent in the company until it's just him. We then head out to the ring where Crazy Sting re-enacts getting his ass kicked last week to prove he's crazy, and tells us how awesome it was to get his ass kicked by Hulk Hogan, who still has the eye of the tiger. Sting says that he and the fans want to see Hogan back in the ring, and he wants Hogan tonight. Instead, Ric Flair's music hits and he comes out to confront his longtime foe. It's like the last episode of Nitro all over again! Flair tells Sting that he's an icon and he always blows off people who ask him when he's going to wrestle Sting again, and he says he doesn't want to wrestle Sting since he's wrestled him 1500 times. He tells Sting not to just say he wants to do it, he wants Sting to know he's the icon in his eyes because he's full of energy and strong as a bull, and for Flair to get where he wants to be, he has to wrestle Sting. Flair tells Sting that if he beats him, Sting goes home for good, and it's not a phony wrestling retirement, he goes home for good, but if Sting beats Flair, he'll give him Hogan on a silver platter. Sting decides to ask the people what they think, and then he tells Flair he smells like garlic, but he accepts the offer.
Flair comes into Hogan's office and Hogan flips out in the most cartoonish way you can imagine and says Flair has no idea what he just did. Flair said not to worry about it because they're the two greatest wrestlers ever, but Hogan is still worried because he gave him everything he had and he kept going. Flair said it's okay because he has Sting's number, but Hogan says he better take care of Sting because Flair doesn't want a problem with him. Flair tells Hogan he loves him, gives him a hug, and walks out.
We take a look at this past weekend's events in the Bound For Glory Series, and Crimson is still narrowly holding first place, with Bully Ray in second and Robert Roode in third. This leads us right into our first match...
Bound For Glory Series: Devon vs Scott Steiner
Steiner jumps Devon before the bell, but Devon comes back with a flying shoulderblock and a series of clotheslines for 2. Devon with a side suplex for 2 as we see his kids and 12 year old wife at ringside. Steiner cradles Devon and puts his feet on the ropes to get the win out of nowhere.
Winner: Scott Steiner
Devon protests the decision and doesn't see Samoa Joe come out of the crowd and attack him from behind, hitting a double kneebreaker and then hooking him in a modified figure four heel hook. Devon's kids jump in the ring and Joe gets up to confront them, backing them into the corner, but the Pope runs into the ring and Joe backs off.
Samoa Joe is backstage telling the cameraman that he said he'd hurt people, and that's what he did. He's done playing their game, and he does things his way where he's from, and Devon's the first of many because if he can't win this tournament, he'll destroy everyone until the Bound For Glory Series is no more. He warned them not to mess with him, but they did, and he'll continue to do this because nobody has the balls to fire him.
X-Division Gauntlet: Alex Shelley vs Tony Nese vs Kid Kash vs Robbie E vs Zema Ion vs Jesse Sorensen vs Mark Haskins vs Austin Aries
Okay, let's get this over with so Aries can get his title shot we all know he's getting. Shelley and Haskins start, and Haskins zips in with a dropkick right off the bell, but Shelley fires back with some really hard chops and a roaring elbow. Haskins blocks Sliced Bread #2 and gets a springboard armdrag into an Ace Crusher for a series of two counts. Haskins goes for a top rope Frankensteiner, but Shelley reverses to a super inverted atomic drop and tries Sliced Bread #2, Haskins reverses to a backslide, Shelley reverses to a cradle for 2, and Haskins gets what looks like a GTS to pin Shelley and eliminate him. Didn't see that coming. Robbie E comes in next, but argues with Cookie and gets rolled up and eliminated in just a few seconds. Zema Ion is in next and comes off the top with a missile dropkick, an inverted atomic drop, and monkey flips Haskins into the air and boots him in the face on the way down for 2. Haskins gets a weird rollup for 2 and dumps Ion to the apron, but Ion slides through the ropes with a tornado DDT and comes off the top with a 450 splash to eliminate Haskins. Sorensen comes in now with a springboard dropkick for 2, but Ion hot shots him on the top rope for 2, then goes up top for another 450 and Sorensen gets the knees up. Sorensen with a Hero's Welcome to eliminate Ion and then Tony Nese comes in and destroys Sorensen with a clothesline for 2. Nese dodges a corner charge and kills Sorensen with a running facewash in the corner for 2. Nese ducks an enziguiri and deadlifts Sorensen into a German suplex for 2. Nese misses a Lionsault and Sorensen hits another Hero's Welcome to eliminate Nese. Kid Kash comes in next and destroys Sorensen with right hands and chops as we go to commercial.
We're back, and Kash hits a nasty side backbreaker and covers Sorensen for 2. Kash with a hard slam and then goes to the second rope and hits a springboard moonsault for 2. Kash hits the weakest Tiger Driver of all time and Sorensen rolls through into a cradle to eliminate Kash. Now Aries takes his time taking his vest off as Kash hits a Jay Driller on Sorensen, and Aries comes in and pins Sorensen with one boot, but Sorensen kicks out at 2, so Aries cradles and hooks the leg, but still only gets 2. Aries goes for a brainbuster but Sorensen small packages him for 2. Aries comes right up with a kick to the head, the IED in the corner, and the brainbuster for the win.
Winner: Austin Aries
Aries was clearly heavily taxed by that, and is now the #1 contender to the X Division Title. Christy Hemme comes to interview Aries, who proudly proclaims that he just ran the gauntlet and eliminated seven guys by himself. Now he's taking Kendrick's X Division Title and there's nothing he can do about it because Aries is the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived. Kendrick comes down the ramp and extends his hand to Aries, and Aries goes to shake in, then snatches his hand away and walks up the ramp. Kendrick has had enough and goes after Aries, taking him down and beating the crap out of him on the ramp before blatantly choking him as security tries to tear Kendrick off of Aries.
Ric Flair is backstage taping his wrists up, but stops and decides to go looking for Sting.
We look back at last week when Ken Anderson got laid out by Immortal, and he is now suffering from two punctured eardrums and is out indefinitely.

ODB with a kneelift to the ribs and hits the fallaway BAM. ODB opens Mickie up and rears back to club Mickie with a right hand, but stops herself and comes off the ropes iwth a hard boot to Mickie's chest for 2. ODB rams Mickie into the corner and rams shoulderblocks into her midsection, then locks Mickie into my favorite bearhug of all time. If you saw the view we got of Mickie, you'll undertand why. Mickie with a dropkick that drives ODB into the corner, then she catches ODB coming out with a neckbreaker, then they exchange right hands and Mickie wipes ODB out with a series of clotheslines. ODB dumps Mickie out to the apron and knocks her to the floor with a hard right hand, and Miss Jackie desperately wants to attack Mickie, but stops herself and walks around to the other side of the ring. Mickie gets back to the apron and repeatedly rams ODB's head into the top turnbuckle, then comes off the top with a Thesz Press. Mickie goes for the jumping DDT, but ODB blocks and hits a charging splash in the corner, but misses the Bronco Buster. Mickie waits for ODB to come out of the corner and this time hits the jumping DDT for 3.
Winner: Mickie James
Mickie has a tense staredown with Jackie and they share an uncomfortable handshake.
Winter and Angelina Love are backstage talking about how great it is to be Knockouts Champion, and Winter says there's nothing hardcore about that little squirrel Mickie James, and she can't wait for Angelina to be there with her. Mickie's not living in the real world because this is Winter's world, and blood is orgasmic. She takes a sip from her wine glass, and yes, it's blood.
Bound For Glory Series: Rob Van Dam vs AJ Styles
We see Jerry Lynn sitting ringside watching this match as RVD and AJ tie up. RVD sends AJ into the ropes and they havea back and forth sequence and go to the indy stalemate. AJ catches RVD with a dropkick followed by a side backbreaker for 2. AJ off the ropes with a big kneedrop for 2, then he unloads on RVD in the corner with chops. RVD with a BIG monkey flip that sends AJ clear across the ring, then he follows up with Rolling Thunder for 2. Jerry Lynn suddenly hops the rail and starts arguing with the referee, and RVD gets distracted and tells Lynn to get back to his seat. RVD hits AJ with the stepover leg lariat and goes up for the Five Star Frog Splash, but AJ hits the ropes to crotch RVD and goes up for a superplex. RVD fights AJ off and shoves him backward into the ring and goes for the Five Star, but AJ gets the knees up and covers for 2. RVD and AJ trade blows and AJ goes for the Styles Clash, but RVD backdrops his way out so AJ hits the Pelle Kick and goes for the cover, but Lynn grabs the referee and drags him out of the ring to break the count. The referee has finally had enough and calls for the DQ.
Winner: AJ Styles by DQ
RVD is now down another 10 points, and AJ goes and gets in Jerry Lynn's face. RVD then goes out and starts arguing with Lynn as we go to commercial.
We come back and RVD and Jerry Lynn are still arguing with each other backstage and Jerry still says he was trying to help, but RVD says he doesn't need any help and walks off.
Ric Flair is somewhere in the catacombs of the Impact Zone complaining about who knows what, and he's still trying to find Sting. He hears various random noises and can't quite pin down the source, but says he never liked the rafters gimmick and he's getting really pissed off. Sting finally reveals himself, and Gunner comes out of nowhere and attacks him. Sting turns the tables and Flair heads for the hills as Sting beats the crap out of Gunner.
We go back to Eric Young hunting Scott Baio and harassing various people on the streets of Los Angeles. Next week...Eric Young finally faces Scott Baio to blow this ridiculous angle off!
Crimson is backstage, and he's...HOBBLING!
Crimson comes out to the ring and says he used to have a lot of respect for Kurt Angle, but now they seem to have a problem, and he wants Angle to come out to the ring. Angle obliges and walks out with the World Title over his shoulder, and Crimson says that Angle says he was going to take out all the young wrestlers in TNA, and even though he started with Crimson, he failed because he's standing here. Angle says he wishes he could respect Crimson, but he's nobody going nowhere and he's exactly what Angle was talking about: the young talent building around him. Angle's here to make him because without Angle, he's an uncoordinated, green-ass little bitch, and it takes a star like him to make them. He's been making people his entire career, and it's gotten him spit on, kicked in the balls, and disrespected. Crimson says not one of the young guys in the back has ever disrespected him, but he listens to all of Hogan's BS. Crimson says it's his honor to compete with Angle, and Angle says he's damn right it's his honor because guys like Crimson can't even shine his gold medal. Angle looks at him and sees nothing and that he's not going anywhere in this business. Angle goes to walk away, but Crimson puts his hand up and gently guides Angle back in front of him so he can say that he's going to be somebody and he already is. He says if Angle faces him here next week, he'll show him why he's the future of wrestling and also the here and now. Oh, and by the way, he's real...he's damn real. Angle doesn't blink as Crimson hobbles out of the ring and back up the ramp.
Mexican America are backstage, and they don't care if they win or lose because nada es imposible para Mexican America.
The Jarretts join Mike Tenay and Taz at the broadcast booth, and then it's main event time!

Storm with a chestbreaker and a uranage slam for 2, then just destroys Anarquia in the corner with right hands. Paul says that his client believes that story. He believes it because no one wants this match at SummerSlam more than Triple H. Triple H wants this match more than Brock wanted this match. Paul reminds us that Brock quit WWE. He says that Triple H needs this match because it is the most personal fight of his career. The honor of WWE is in his hands. His own personal dignity is in his hands. His standing in his own family is on the line when he faces a fighter with Ultimate credentials like Brock Lesnar.
Paul says that is why he stands before us with a hold harmless indemnification agreement. Paul says that he will not hold his client legally responsible for what he is going to do to Triple H. 2018 - Jim Neidhart passed away. Mike Johnson penned the following:
Former WWE star and Cauliflower Alley Club President Brian Blair announced the passing of former WWF star and founding member of the Hart Foundation Jim Neidhart this morning. Neidhart, the father of WWE star Natalya, was 63 years old.
Blair wrote, "It is with a sad heart, that I share with you the passing of a long time friend and colleague, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. Your thoughts and prayers for the family are appreciated!"
According to TMZ, Jim Neidhart's wife Elizabeth (Ellie) Neidhart told investigators that Jim was having problems sleeping and got our out of bed to adjust the theromostat. Ellie then said that as Neidhart went to touch it, he turned "weirdly" as if he was "about to dance", then fell into the wall and ground. Ellie immediately dialed 911, believing he was having a seizure, something he was taking medication for. Neidhart had four-inch gash on his face when EMTs arrived. Pasco County police have already stated they do not believe there was any foul play involved. There was medication in Neidhart's home, but according to the TMZ.com report, it did not appear to have been abused.
Over the course of his career, Neidhart, a former WWF Tag Team Champion with Bret Hart, worked for WWF, Stampede Wrestling, WCW, ECW and many, many, many other promotions great and small.
Neidhart's daughter Natalya remembered her father, writing "I can’t put into words how hard it is going to be for myself and our family to have to say goodbye to my dad. He meant the world to us, and nothing will ever replace the special times we shared together as a family. My dad was always a fighter and an incredibly special person. There was no one like him! I’m just gonna miss him so much. We are going to hold all of the moments we had with him close to our hearts forever and never let them go. I promise to keep your memory alive. We love you so much, Daddy! On behalf of my entire family, we would also like to personally thank everyone for the outpouring of thoughts and prayers. It’s meant so much to us."
WWE Hall of Famer Gene Oklerlund remembered Neidhart on his Facebook Page, writing, "If you couldn't like Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart your the one with the problem. You didn't to always agree with him but if this guy would give the shirt off his back. He was a tremendous athlete. Track and football. High point of his wrestling career was his run with Bret Hart as one half of the Hart Foundation managed by Jimmy Hart. He was 62. Rest in Peace Jim Neidhart"
On behalf of everyone associated with PWInsider.com, we'd like to express our deepest condolences to Neidhart's family, friends and fans.
2021 - WWE Hall of Famer Dominic DeNucci passed away. Mike Johnson penned the following:
PWInsider.com is saddened to report that Dominic DeNucci, who had extended runs in the WWWF and was a huge top name for Jim Barnett's IWA in Australia among many other promotions before becoming a well regarded trainer for a number of stars passed away yesterday at the age of 89.
DeNucci's passing was first announced by the Cauliflower Alley Club: "We've received the sad news that wrestling Legend Dominic DeNucci has passed away at the age of 89. Known not only for his wrestling, but for training Mick Foley, Shane Douglas and others. We send our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and many fans the world over. R.I.P"
Denucci originally debuted in Canada, working as Dominic Bravo for both Stampede Wrestling and the Montreal territory. He later worked under his real name in Vancouver.
After his initial runs in Canada, Denucci moved onto California, working under his real name for the first time, before going to Australia's World Championship Wrestling, where DeNucci received his largest push as a talent, holding the IWA World title numerous times. Appearing regularly there from 1964 through 1970, DeNucci feuded with Ray Stevens, Killer Kowalski, King Curtis Iaukea and more. DeNucci also teamed with Bruno Sammartino and Mark Lewin, among others for the territory. As a talent for the promotion, DeNucci would be in the top 1% in terms of importance at the box office and easily one of their biggest babyfaces.
To modern day fans, Denucci is probably best known as a trainer but held several titles in the WWWF as a tag team performer, including a short run as the International Tag Team Champions with Bruno Sammartino, who Denucci remained close friends with until Sammartino's passing several years ago, beating and eventually losing them back to The Mongols. DeNucci and Victor Rivera held the WWF Tag Team Championship, defeating Johnny and Jimmy Valiant. When Rivera left the territory, DeNucci continued on as Champion, teaming with Pat Barrett until losing the belts to Blackjack Mulligan and Blackjack Lanza. Denucci and Dino Bravo also held the WWWF Tag Titles for several months in 1978.
As a singles talent, DeNucci was slotted as a competitive wrestler who would often challenge heels before losing to them to give them additional credibility. A win over DeNucci was almost certainly a sign that heel would be one day challenging for the WWWF title. He would leave the company in 1982 as he was used more and more in a lower level supporting role.
After his WWF run, he worked regularly for the Savoldi's ICW, toured Canada again for Montreal's International Wrestling and appeared for the International Wrestling Federation. Over his career, DeNucci also worked for a number of other territories, including a run with the NWA Florida Tag Team Titles, teaming with Tony Parisi, He worked for Big Time Wrestling in Detroit, was a staple in Ohio and appeared in St. Louis, Cleveland and other territories of the era. Denucci also had runs with All Japan Pro Wrestling and its predecessor, the Japan Pro Wrestling Alliance.
After officially retiring, DeNucci trained a number of stars including WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, former ECW World Champion Shane Douglas, Cody Michaels, late SMW and WCW referee Brian "Mark Curtis" Hildebrand, among others. He would occasionally come out of retirement and even faced Ivan Koloff at WrestleReunion 2 in PA in a Russian Chain Match in 2005. He wrestled from time to time through 2012.
As a person, Denucci had a great reputation for his kindness and for bringing a lot of laughter and levity to the locker room.
Everyone at PWInsider.com sends our deepest condolences to DeNucci's family, friends and fans.
