A clarification on TNA reaching out to ROH for a potential working agreement. At the time, the idea pitched was a top ROH talent coming in and attacking a top TNA babyface, then putting them over on a TNA event. As you can imagine, that didn't really fly with ROH when it was presented.
Another clarification I wanted to make is in regard to TNA's dealings with New Japan. While there is an assumption that Vince Russo being part of TNA is what killed that deal, that's not what the only breaking point was. In 2010 during the Eric Bischoff/Hulk Hogan regime, Team 3D were the IWGP Tag Team champions and were needed for a New Japan tour. TNA declined to send the former Dudley Boyz as they were needed for an angle on Impact Wrestling with the Nasty Boys. Since it was a situation involving New Japan's champions, it turned the promotion off on working with TNA going further. The other big issue was the usage of Kazuchika Okada as the Green Hornet knockoff, which New Japan hated.
The departure of Andy Barton really shocked a lot of people last week. The addition of Eric Sherman last week will fill most of, if not all, the roles Barton had with the company.
TNA will be taping One Night Only PPVs and Impact Wrestling episodes from 7/22-7/28, including I believe a live episode on 7/22 at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
