- ECW World Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk defeated Chris Candido with the Oklahoma Roll. Candido was a substitute for Stevie Richards, who had legitimately injured his neck and was unable to wrestle.
- Tommy Dreamer defeated Raven with a DDT into a road sign, ending the storyline that Dreamer could never beat Raven (although there was a ECW house show two years earlier where Dreamer won, it was quickly forgotten as the storyline hadn't really begun at that point). This would be the last ECW match for Raven until 1999, as he was heading to WCW. After the match, the lights went out and Rob Van Dam appeared, and attacked Dreamer. The lights went out a second time, and Sabu appeared, joining in on the attack on Dreamer. Dreamer managed a double DDT on Sabu & RVD, when the lights went out a third time. This time, Jerry "The King" Lawler appeared. Most of the ECW locker room came out to fight Lawler, RVD and Sabu, but all were beaten away, until Taz came out. Lawler and RVD left without confronting Taz, and Sabu had his scheduled match with Taz.
- Sabu defeated Taz in their "Barely Legal" rematch. Taz had the Tazzmission applied to Sabu, but Sabu flipped over Taz into a pinning position on the mat, getting the win.
- After the previous match, Taz and Shane Douglas got into a verbal confrontation (Douglas had been watching all of the events unfold from the stage since the Dreamer-Raven match). The confrontation resulted in a challenge where if Taz did not defeat Shane Douglas in three minutes, he would leave ECW for sixty days.
- Taz defeated Shane Douglas with the Tazmission to win the ECW Television Title with ten seconds remaining in the three minute time limit.
- ECW World Tag Team Champions The Eliminators defeated The Dudleys. Perry Saturn had a legitimate broken leg, and his leg was in a full cast, so John Kronus wrestled most of the match alone, with Saturn (cast and all) hitting a top rope elbowdrop on D-Von for the pin.
1998 - Perro Aguayo, Sr. and Perro Aguayo, Jr. defeat Fuerza Guerrera and Mosco de la Merced for the Mexico National Tag Team Title in Chihuahua, Mexico.
1999 - Sable (Rena Mero) filed a $110 million lawsuit against the WWF claiming sexual harassment. Her claim was that WWF tried to intimidate her into performing "obscene" acts, including having her breasts exposed on television and taking part in a lesbian storyline. She also sought rights to the "Sable" name. She ultimately settled with WWF out of court, and did not get the rights to her name. She returned to the company in April of 2003.
2003 - WWE holds the fourth, and ultimately final, Insurrextion pay-per-view event at Telewest Arena in Newcastle, England. Insurrextion 2003 would also be the final United Kingdom-exclusive pay-per-view event. The results were:
In dark matches:
- Maven pinned Christian Eckstein after a Missile Dropkick.

- Jazz pinned Trish Stratus to retain the WWE Women's Title, when Theodore Long rammed Trish shoulder-first into the ring post while the referee was distracted by Victoria.

2003 - In Cayey, Puerto Rico, Chris Candido defeats Fidel Sierra to win the WWC Television Title. Dominican Boy defeats Eddie Colon for the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Title, and Broncos II and III win their second WWC World Tag Team Title, ending the ninth reign of Thunder and Lightning.
2005 - During an edition of Smackdown taped in Kansas City, Missouri, it was announced that Chris Benoit was the first wrestler to be drafted to Smackdown from Raw in the 2005 Draft. It was also announced that since WWE Champion John Cena had been drafted to Raw, that Smackdown no longer had a champion, and a decision would be made regarding that at the end of the month when all draft picks had finished (Smackdown would end up with World Champion Batista as their last pick). Also on the show, Kurt Angle attacked Tazz when Tazz refused to join Angle's anti-ECW team. Later in the night, during a match between Chris Benoit and JBL, Angle attacked Benoit, bringing out Paul Heyman, The Dudleys, Tommy Dreamer, Rhyno, Sandman, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten and Tazz to face off with Angle, JBL, Orlando Jordan, the Bashams, Carlito and Matt Morgan, with the ECW contingent clearing the ring.
2005 - Drew McDonald defeats Robbie Brookside for the British Heavyweight Title in Croydon, England, beginning his second reign and ending Brookside's third.

2005 - Rob Matrix defeats Tack in Cincinnati, Ohio to win the HWA Television Title, ending Tack's third reign.
2006 - John Tenta, better known as Earthquake in the WWF, passed away at age 42 after a long battle with bladder cancer.
2006 - WWE vs. ECW Head to Head, a special Wednesday night event, used to hype the upcoming One Night Stand pay-per-view and the impending debut of ECW as WWE's third brand six days later on June 13, was held at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. Mike Johnson filed the following TV report:
Welcome to PWInsider.com's live coverage of the WWE vs. ECW special on the USA Network.
The special opened with Mick Foley addressing Raw and Smackdown superstars saying they aren't going to let the ECW star take over their company. Rey Mysterio, of all people, said they aren't going to let them walk in. Wasn't he part of ECW a year ago?
Paul Heyman was then shown rallying the troops (Al Snow, Nunzio, Justin Credible, Tony Mamaluke, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk, Balls Mahoney, Steven Richards, and Kurt Angle) and leading them in an ECW chant.
There are two commentary teams - Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler and Joey Styles and Tazz. Styles said that he's representing ECW. Tazz cut a promo on Jerry Lawler, saying he's going to take out Lawler this weekend at the PPV. Lawler challenged Tazz to do it now. Tazz got up but was restrained by Styles.
WWE World champion Rey Mysterio vs. Rob Van Dam
Rey Mysterio made his way to the ring first. Joey Styles pointed out that ECW gave Mysterio his start and said he was happy to be finally working with Jim Ross. Rob Van Dam came out of an ECW entrance, through the crowd, which is a great touch.
Mysterio and Van Dam shook hands. Wasn't he just insulting ECW? Mysterio dropkicked Van Dam. The former partners went back and forth and then faced off. The crowd chanted for Van Dam. Mysterio went for a crucifix but Van Dam avoided it. He pressed and dropped Mysterio, then hit a standing moonsault. Van Dam then jumped on the crowd to play to them. Mysterio dropkicked RVD and went for the 619 but Van Dam saw it coming. Van Dam tried to springboard into the ring but Mysterio dropkicked him in mid-air to the floor. Van Dam caught Rey and dropped him across the guard rail. Can Dam stood on the rail to do a corkscrew legdrop but Rey avoided it. Van Dam landed in the crowd. Rey did a springboard dive into the crowd
A ECW on Sci Fi commercial aired as they returned from commercial.
Van Dam placed Van Dam atop the ropes and hit the Ryder Kick from the top rope. Mysterio bumped to the floor. The fans chanted, "RVD." Van Dam followed Rey to the floor and tossed him into the ring. Van Dam hit a slingshot guillotine legdrop to Mysterio's throat. Van Dam covered Mysterio for a two count. Mysterio missed a charge in the corner. RVD brought a chair into the ring for a running dropkick with it in the corner. RVD bowed for the crowd, then covered Mysterio for a two count.
Van Dam looked outside the ring, then whipped Rey into a corner. He grabbed a chair and went for his old somersault into a monkey flip on a chair but Rey avoided it. He bulldogged RVD onto the chair for a two count. Van Dam placed a chair on Mysterio and went up for the five star frog splash. Van Dam pinned Mysterio.
Your winner, Rob Van Dam!
They showed the locker rooms celebrating and upset, depending on which side they were on.
A really good first match with some cool spots. Both guys were trying really hard. Van Dam looked the most comfortable he has since returning from his knee injury in January. Van Dam celebrated with the crowd and shook hands with Tazz.
All four announcers are commentating, for those of you curious. The crowd has been really hot so far and there are a ton of ECW shirts in the crowd. Dayton was always a big ECW city and those fans are being vocal tonight. There was more done in the first match to get over ECW as a brand than there has been in the last three weeks, in my opinion.
They showed footage of Randy Orton attacking Kurt Angle on Raw, followed by Angle walking through the backstage area.
They aired another ECW TV commercial. The tag line of the series is "A New Breed Unleashed."
Kurt Angle's music began to play and he came out of the ECW entrance. No traditional Angle pyrotecnics until he got to the ring. Joey Styles was selling Angle as a no nonsense wrestler. Tazz said Angle fits ECW like a glove. Angle said that a lot of people thought he would be upset when Randy Orton attacked him with the RKO in Angle's hometown. Angle said that two months ago, he snapped Orton's ankle and loved every second of it. He said that was the favorite time of any ankles he's broken. Angle said that they are going to face off for the first time ever. Angle said that Orton will have to face ECW's Kurt Angle. He said that ECW's Angle doesn't "take sh**."
Randy Orton's music played and he came out to the entranceway. He questioned whether that was supposed to scare him. The fans chanted ECW. Orton said that he feels sorry for Angle because he's going from main eventing Wrestlemania to ECW. He said that's like going from a summer blockbuster to a hardcore porn movie. Orton said that he wants to reach the top of the the ladder. He announced his contract had expired and Angle would be facing Monday Night Raw's Randy Orton, so he's switched brands.
Angle said that for the first time in his life, he doesn't have to worry about officials or sponsors or Vince McMahon. He said that all he has to worry about is kicking ass. Angle said at the PPV he's going to break Orton's arms and legs. He said that Orton would crawl out of the PPV with a broken neck. Orton called him a smug son of a b**ch, and blamed Angle for breaking his angle. He said that if it wasn't for Angle, Orton would be World champion right now.
Angle said that everything has happened for a reason. Orton said that Angle may be the new face of ECW but Orton is going to beat him within an inch of his damn life at the PPV. Orton said it's his destiny to make sure ECW fails and by destroying Angle, he will single-handledly kill "the legend of ECW."
Angle and Orton faced off.
They announced Tommy Dreamer vs. Edge in an Extreme Match.
WWE Womens champion Mickie James and ECW's Jazz were shown walking backstage. They are facing each other next.
They aired a promo for ECW live events, including 6/24 in Philadelphia. I was told earlier that the show has been moved to 7/4, so I guess they didn't have lead time to change the promo.
WWE Women's champion Mickie James vs. Jazz
They locked up with James working over Jazz' arm. Jazz came back with a kick to the gut and come chops, followed by a dropkick. Jazz hit a Lou Thesz Press from the apron to the floor. They battled on the floor before Jazz tossed James back in the ring. James missed a kick and was hit with Jazz's finisher, the Jazz Stinger (faceplant). Jazz got a two count, but James put her foot on the ropes. James hit a twisting DDT for the pin.
Your winner, Mickie James!
OK match. Too short to get any real steam.
They aired a promotional video on Sabu.
So far, they are doing a far better job at getting over ECW as a product in my opinion.
Todd Grisham introduced WWE champion John Cena backstage. They showed the footage of Cena being laid out by ECW on Raw. Cena was smiling when they went to the footage. Cens said the footage puts how important this is into perspective. He said that a WWE title is on the line for the first time at an ECW PPV and if RVD wins the title, it goes to Extreme Championship Wrestling. He said that the same title that has been held by Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, and Steve Austin would be gone and christened the ECW title. He said that would mean every WWE fan would recognize Cena as the biggest goat in history. He said there won't even be a WWE fan in the Hammerstein Ballroom, only the most ruthless, intense atmosphere in the world. He said if he loses, he'll be in the middle of the biggest riot ever seen in sports-entertainment. Will someone please STOP using that term while trying to get over ECW as something DIFFERENT FROM WWE? Cena said he's afraid of nothing and Sabu has pissed off the wrong fire breathing son of a bitch. They are using a lot more edgy language on the special.
Lillian Garcia introduced Paul Heyman. Tazz asked where the ECW ring announcer was. Styles quipped that he doesn't mind looking at Garcia. Heyman said that it's overwhelming to be in the middle of the resurgence of ECW. Heyman plugged the Sci Fi debut as ECW's return to Network television on live television. Heyman said it's not going to be all the things they used to do, but a whole lot more. Heyman said the resurrection begins this Sunday and began running down the lineup of the PPV. He then showed highlights of last year's PPV.
Backstage, Kurt Angle was riling up the ECW troops. Why the hell does he like ECW again now, anyway? Big Show told the locker room that Kurt Angle betrayed them. Wasn't he picked by Paul Heyman, as opposed to jumping on his own? Show said that some of them were Raw while others were Smackdown, but they were all WWE Elite. He said that they needed to go out there and show the world that ECW has no idea what they are going to get. If I was Sabu, I'd sure be scared of Tatanka, but that's me.
WWE VS. ECW BATTLE ROYAL
The WWE competitors are Finlay, Lashley, Tatanka, Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, Randy Orton, The Big Show, Carlito, and Mark Henry. The ECW competitors, coming out to the ECW theme, are Al Snow, Nunzio, Justin Credible, Tony Mamaluke, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk, Balls Mahoney, Steven Richards, and Kurt Angle. Joey Styles said, "There you go, the pro wrestlers!"
Everyone began brawling. Dreamer and Edge went right after each other. Mark Henry was tossed over by Nunzio and Kurt Angle. Styles said his name was Little Guido. Matt Hardy was then tossed. Terry Funk and Finlay brawled center ring, a rematch from Catch Wrestling years ago in Germany. How's that for a reference? Dreamer tossed Tatanka over. Sandman pulled out a dropkick (SANDMAN?), eliminating Carlito. Edge, outside the ring, helped eliminated Tony Mamaluke. Dreamer was eliminated by Orton with Edge's help. Dreamer tried to get at Edge outside the ring as they went to commercial.
Back on the air, Edge was still stalking outside, having never entered the ring. He got up on the apron to attack Credible. Edge helped eliminate Terry Funk from the outside. Credible was eliminated by Finlay. Snow began using Head as a weapon but Benjamin eliminated him. Stevie (called by that name) and Balls Mahoney were out next, courtesy of Lashley. Angle tossed Lashley. It's Angle and Sandman left against the WWE crew. Styles got in a great line about Sandman, saying he had 20 arrests for brawling and spent 6 months in solitary for punching out a prison guard, closing it with, "I like him in a Battle Royal!" They went to commercial.
Back from commercial, Sandman was tossed, leaving Angle the sole ECW representative. Angle tossed Benjamin. Finlay, Orton, and Show were in the ring while Edge was outside. Angle belly-to-belly suplexed Finley and Orton, but was caught by Show with a goozle. Show went for a chokeslam, but Angle escaped and hit the Angleslam. Finlay clobbered Angle from behind. Finley tried to eliminate Angle but Angle fought back and catapulted Finlay over the ropes to the floor. Edge hit the ring but was tossed out with an overhead suplex. Angle was screaming at Edge when Orton came from behind and dumped him. Orton and Big Show were the final survivors. Lillian Garcia started to announce the winning team, when Show tore off his Raw shirt to reveal an ECW shirt. He chokeslammed Orton and tossed him over. They announced ECW won. The angle was right out of 1997's NWO, but no one saw it coming. The irony here is that Show was backstage at the ECW Arena trying to break in way back in November 1994, which obviously didn't happen. Now he's in ECW. Talk about a full circle.
Tazz said Show joining ECW was "Christmas in the world of Extreme." Show and Angle celebrated. Did someone just dial 911?
The ECW locker room celebrated with Big Show.
Edge was in the ring with Mick Foley.
Edge vs. Tommy Dreamer: Extreme Rules
Edge took the mic and said that if you want to talk hardcore, Mick Foley knows all about ECW, Tommy Dreamer, and Terry Funk. Edge said that he had a surprise for Foley, and they played an old classic Foley promo from ECW, talking about the hardcore life of wrestling is a lie. Dreamer had new ring music. Dreamer came out with a barbed wire bat and Terry funk. Joey Styles did more to get over Dreamer in 10 seconds than Raw did in a month.
Edge grabbed a chair but Dreamer snapped at it with the bat. Dreamer went after edge outside with the bat. Dreamer whipped Edge into the steel steps at ringside. Dreamer tossed Edge into the ring. Funk had put weapons into the ring when they were outside. Dreamer hit him with a steel sign. Dreamer's leg was grabbed by Lita, and Edge hit Dreamer with the sign. Edge nailed Dreamer with a cookie sheet. Lawler buried the ECW style while Styles and Tazz put over all the different facets of wrestling. Styles said that ECW had Malenko, Guerrero, and Benoit while WWE had Ultimate Warrior and Lex Luger. Dreamer hit a neckbreaker on Edge. Edge came back with a drop toehold into a chair. Edge hit an Impaler DDT into a trash can. Edge covered Dreamer, who kicked up at two.
Edge began punching Dreamer in the corner and whipped him into the corner. Dreamer ducked under Edge and kicked him low. He tied Edge into the tree of woe. Dreamer screamed, "ECW" and hit the running dropkick into a chair in the corner. Dreamer yelled to Funk, "Get the tables." He and Funk put a table inside the ring. Tazz and Styles argued with Ross and Lawler with Styles shooting all over WWE's sports-entertainment. Styles made a Leprechaun comment and Lawler had no idea what he was talking about. Styles yelled, "I'm begging you to watch the product!"
Dreamer set up Edge to be suplexed off the ropes into a table, but Lita hit Dreamer with a kendo stick. Funk got in the ring and grabbed Lita. Foley attacked Funk and choked him out with barbed wire. Edge tried to powerbomb Dreamer but was backdropped off. Edge nearly killed himself falling headfirst. That was especially scary considering he's had neck fusion surgery. Dreamer hit the Dreamer Driver through a table but Lita began caning Dreamer before the three count. Dreamer got up, absorbing the blows as he egged her on to keep going. He finally grabbed it from her and picked her up for a powerbomb. Edge hit a weak looking spear on Dreamer. Dreamer fell backwards with Lita sitting on his face as Edge scored the pin.
Outside the ring, Funk and Foley continued to brawl. Funk had the barbed wire wrapped around his neck. Funk busted open Foley above his eye.
An OK match. The Edge bump was one of the scariest things to happen on WWE TV in some time. The spear at the end took away from the match but they had to be careful considering where Lita was. Styles was awesome here at putting over ECW and ripping all over the WWE product. He completely ate up Lawler.
After replays of the spear, Funk and Dreamer were in the ring while Edge and Foley were on the floor collecting themselves.
They aired a feature on the special effects of See No Evil as ECW fans around the country went, "Argh!"
When they returned from commercial, Foley, his face swollen, was sitting in a chair in the middle of the ring with a spotlight on him and the Arena darkened. Foley asked where anyone gets the nerve to call him a whore and a sell out? He said that loved ECW, but ECW didn't love him back. He said it was like the girl who can't let go of, but makes you sick upon seeing her. He said it wanted too much of his life, his blood, and his heart, so he left. He said he found fame and fortune in WWE and Paul Heyman was right, there's only one real difference between him and Tommy Dreamer - Foley is a whore and Dreamer is not. Foley said seven years ago, he pulled a sock out of his pants and made Vince McMahon laugh. The doors of opportunity opened for Foley but not for Dreamer. All Dreamer has is his pride and the letters ECW. Foley said that perhaps his hardcore match with Edge wasn't the greatest hardcore match of all time. He said that he and Edge were going to walk into the cesspool that is Hammerstein Ballroom. Foley said that Dreamer was going to bludgeon them and kick their asses over New York City. Foley said that Terry Funk is the greatest wrestler he's ever seen, and his slaps are worse than most men's punches. He said he blew "the son of a bitch up in Japan and he hugged me. I set him on fire in Philadelphia and he put his arm around me." Foley said the only difference between he and Dreamer is that Foley had the guts to go to ECW. He said that he wants to exorcize the whore that is ECW. Foley noted the things he went through at Wrestlemania and said that was nothing to what he will do at ECW One Night Stand. He said he was going to put a stake through their hearts as vengeance for ever falling in love with ECW. He said that Dreamer and Funk were about to learn about loss.
Tazz and Lawler began arguing. Lawler got up and challenged him. Tazz stared him down for a long time, then took off his jacket and punched Lawler. He dared Lawler to get up and hit him. They started brawling really snug as security tried to break them up. Styles screamed at them to let them go. In the melee, Styles flipped off Ross' hat. That was funny!
When they returned from camera, Lawler and Tazz were back in their positions. Tazz said they were done for now, but wait until Sunday. The tension between the announcing teams tonight has been great because they are acting as if they are both fighting for their lives, as opposed to it being scripted lines they are reading.
They aired a video feature on John Cena vs. Rob Van Dam.
WWE champion John Cena vs. Sabu
This is probably the highest profile match in Sabu's career, although I don't expect it to be his best match. From an audience standpoint, this is his biggest one and that's saying something. Sabu came out to his old ECW theme music, wielding a chair. Tazz put over Sabu as the toughest man he ever faced. Sabu and Cena exchanged blows in the center of the ring. Cena whipped Sabu into the ropes, took him down and hit an elbow drop. Cena began measuring Sabu with punches and hit a suplex for a two count. Cena whipped Sabu into the ropes but Sabu kicked him in the face. Cena hit a suplex for a two count. The crowd was turning on Cena as he choked Sabu in the corner. Cena whipped Sabu in the corner but Sabu low blowed him as Cena charged.
Sabu tossed Cena out of the ring and then hit a slingshot senton to the floor. Sabu threw a chair in Cena's face. He tossed Cena back into the ring, and then threw another chair at Cena, who caught it with hands and crumbled. Sabu hit a triple jump moonsault for a two count. Cena was selling his ribs as he got up. Sabu dove off the chair and hit Air Sabu in the corner. Cena kicked up. Sabu hit an Arabian Facebuster. Styles was on fire calling the moves. Cena rolled out to the floor, where Sabu continued the assault. Cen was whipped into the steel steps. Sabu tossed Cena into the Raw team's table, then legdropped him on the table.
Sabu tossed Cena back in the ring but only got a two count. Sabu went for Air Sabu into a clothesline but was caught and hit by the F-U. Cena locked on the STFU but Big Show hit the ring for a DQ. That set off a huge melee with WWE and ECW stars brawling. Cena and RVD brawled. Everyone brawled. Joey Styles said, "WWE opened the gate to their own hell when they relaunched ECW!"
2008 - The NWA held their 60th Anniversary event in Atlanta, GA. Larry Goodman filed the following live report:
The NWA’s “60 Years of Excellence” in Atlanta at Philips Arena came as a pleasant surprise on many levels.
The response from the fans was one of the best things about the show. They were extremely respectful of all the legends and showed surprisingly long memories. It felt like they were entertained by every match. Guys that have been off television for a while, like Sid Vicious and Sean Waltman, got surprisingly strong reactions.
The NWA has talent. The quality of the wrestling from the current generation performers was good to excellent across the board, and the fans enjoyed the nostalgia acts for what they were.
On Friday, Dave Meltzer reported tickets sales at 491 with 2400 free tickets out for the show. Apparently, most of those freebies got used because the crowd was 2500-3000 in a building set up for 6000.
As inconceivable as it seems, there was no induction ceremony for Ric Flair. My understanding from NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich is they somehow forgot. The NWA must have some mighty powerful stuff going on in the old unconscious in the aftermath of WWE pulling Flair from the show.
The show opened with a video message from Adam Pearce, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Pearce said he had obligations to fulfill in Philadelphia (for ROH). He invited the fans to take a trip down memory lane, as the NWA’s thank you to Atlanta.
(1) Mike DiBiase beat Idol Stevens to retain the NWA North American Title in 5:45. The crowd responded to the DiBiase name. Both men looked in great shape. Stevens took over after a gutbuster and a rabbit lariat. When Stevens missed coming off the top, DiBiase mounted a fiery comeback. DiBiase went up top. Stevens got his foot up on his splash attempt, but DiBiase caught Stevens with an inside cradle for pin.
(2) Iceberg (with the Reverend) beat Shatter (with Jeff G. Bailey) and Mikal Judas in a three-way to retain the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title in 10:36. For a match that lacked name recognition factor, it got a very good response. The crowd got into three big, powerful men working stiff and hitting big moves. It was mostly three-way action rather than the usual deal where one guy gets taken out and the other two go at it. Shatter got the “Whoo!” chant by using the figure four. They did a massive three-way collision. Shatter and Judas teamed up for a double superplex on Iceberg. Finish saw Judas chokeslam Iceberg and try for El Crucifijo on Shatter. No go, as Shatter then catapulted Judas into a lariat on Iceberg. Shatter hit the PTSD (powerbomb) on Judas, and Iceberg pounced on Shatter with the Ground Zero splash for the pin.
Ricky O introduced Jim Cornette as the MC for the Hall of Fame inductions. Cornette said he had spent many long, bloody nights in the Omni in Atlanta under the auspices of the NWA getting his butt kicked by Dusty Rhodes and Barry Windman, but never the Road Warriors, except at Starrcade 86. “They didn’t kick my butt. They threw me off a 25 foot scaffold.” Cornette gave the fans a sneak peak of the 2009 Hall of Fame class by bringing out the first inductee, Paul Orndorff. The crowd was totally appreciative, as they were for every legend that followed. Orndorff talked about training under Eddie Graham being pure hell, and beyond anything he endured for football. Orndorff said the NWA would rise again, but they couldn’t do it without the fans. The first inductee was Nikita Koloff. He said one of his memories of Starrcade 86 was watching Cornette get thrown off that scaffold, but also getting in the ring with Ric Flair that night. Koloff mentioned Rhodes, Sting and Lex Luger, and said the NWA was his heart and soul in wrestling. Iron Sheik came out as the second inductee. Sheik said Georgia was his home and his heart. He thanked Ted Turner for bringing him to Georgia and blessed Gordon Solie. During his intro for Corisca Joe, mentioned that the Corsican Brothers were the world champions when the NWA was first formed in 1948. Cornette said none of them would be there if not for legends like Joe. The crowd popped when Cornette said Joe was 88 years old. Cornette made the case for the Midnight Express being the greatest tag team of the 80s. Not a difficult case to make. Cornette said the Midnights “synonimized” what the NWA was all about. Cornette said no team gave the fans everything they wanted from a professional wrestling match like the Midnights. Condrey said he always loved the fans even if he didn’t show it. Cornette asked the crowd if they wanted Bobby to talk one time. “Thank you, Jim. Thank you, Dennis. Thank you, everybody. Appreciate it“, said Eaton. That got a laugh. Condrey thanked his wife, Teresa for putting up with 19 years of his crap. Rich said Atlanta adopted him and here he was 31 years later. Rich said he was fortunate to catch the end of the time when rasslin’ was rasslin’. Rich thanked the wrestlers from previous generations that made his career possible. Abdullah came down the aisle with long time manager, John Cheatam babbling about his black specimen. Leading to…
(3) Tommy Rich vs. Abdullah the Butcher (with John Cheatham) was ruled a no contest. They brawled on the outside and bloodied each other up with the crowd loving every minute of it. Abdullah pulled out his fork and Rich’s bleached blonde hair was instant crimson. Abby stabbed referee D. L. Norris, who bled copious amounts of plasma. Rich then forked up Abdullah. At one point, Rich climbed on top of the ringside table and Abdullah tipped it over. They battled down the aisle. A second ref got knocked down. Abdullah used Cheatham’s cane on Rich and high-tailed it to the back. The crowd popped as Rich finally got in the ring. Rich told the crowd he didn’t get to feeling right until his head was busted up.
(4) Sean Waltman & Blue Demon Jr. beat Rob Conway & Carl Ouellet in 10:08. Waltman came out to the DX music and the crowd was right there when it came time for the “suck it.” Ouellet escaped from the Bronco Buster early. There was a lot of spit flying when guys took punches in this match. It worked with this crowd. Ouellet used power moves on Waltman. He got the tag and it was major heat on Demon. The crowd was surprisingly strong for Demon’s comeback. The hot tag led to Waltman nailing the Bronco Buster on Conway. Demon hit a killer tope on Ouellet for one of the biggest pops of the night. Waltman pinned Conway with the X Factor- a great finish that the crowd adored.
(5) Mike Quackenbush beat Ricky Vega with submission to retain the NWA World Lightweight Title in 8:31. They made the best of what was somewhat of a style clash. The crowd didn’t know Quack, but he’s such an awesome babyface that he got over fine. Vega (formerly Machete in TNA) overpowered Quack early. Quack popped the crowd with a flip dive. Vega came right back with a nice quebradora for a near fall. Vega took over. He hit a really nice snap powerslam. But he committed the cardinal sin of taking too much time, and busted his ass on a guillotine legdrop attempt. Vega cut off Quack’s comeback with a huge lariat for a close near fall and got another one with a sitout spinebuster. Vega tried to bring Quack off the top with a slam ala Flair. Quack rolled though, hit a top rope huracanrana and got the tap out with the figure four.
(6) Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) beat the Naturals (Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas) and Real American Heroes (Joey Ryan & Karl Anderson) in an elimination match to retain the NWA World Tag Team Titles in 17:24. My favorite match of the night. Luchas were over with their flying. A healthy portion of the crowd seemed to know Naturals from TNA. Luchas were outnumbered by two heel teams, and they’re very appealing in the role of the underdog. Douglas interfered by grabbing Star’s leg. Zokre returned the favor on Stevens to set up a sweet double quebrada spot. But Douglas pulled the ropes down on Zokre and he took punishment from Heroes. Luchas were flying again with the hot tag when Anderson cut Zokre off with the classic spinebuster. Douglas hit a double underhook slam on Anderson and both Luchas piled on to eliminate Heroes at 8:25. Naturals got heat on Star, who managed to kick out of a top rope move by Stevens and make the hot tag. Luchas hit big doubleteams, and Naturals had to save each other. The Naturals had Zokre put away with the Natural Disaster, but Heroes ran down to ringside and Anderson pulled the ref out at two. As Stevens was distracted by Heroes, he stumbled over Zokre and both Luchas piled on for the pin. Naturals teased a break up after the match.
Ricky O said he had ensured that the 6-10 crybaby Sid Vicious would get some competition. O introduced the NWA Pro East tag team champions as Sid’s cannon fodder for the evening.
(7) Sid Vicious destroyed Playas Club (Davey Boy Bling & Juicy Justin Corino) in 3:54. The reaction to Vicious was pretty amazing considering how long he’s been out of the limelight. Fans treated him like the star of the show. Sid wrestled in a t-shirt and jeans. Sid was frightfully stiff, which was exactly what the crowd wanted to see. Vicious slapped Playas club silly. He gave Bling a variation of a whirlybird and wasted Juicy with a chokeslam and a cobra clutch slam. Vicious finished with powerbombs on both Playas. He took his shirt off, stacked them up, and made a one foot pin.
There’s more. Vicious gave Playas another set of powerbombs. A stretcher was wheeled out to ringside to cart Playas out. Vicious knocked Playas off the stretcher with lariats. The crowd chanted “Sid! Sid! Sid!” as Ricky O wheeled Playas to the back.
(8) Rock n' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defeated the Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton with Jim Cornette) in 13:45. Cornette said they weren’t being paid enough to continue to be nice and insulted the crowd. Cornette said the Midnights weren’t going to lay down for a couple of punks and there would be zero tolerance for “Rock and Roll” chants. Morton said it had been a long time since the two teams met in Atlanta, but it was going to be the same as it always was – a beating for the Midnights. In hindsight, this probably was not the match to put on last. There was no way the action could match what the fans had just seen. Some folks left right after Sid. The R & R were a step ahead at every turn. They did the deal where Midnights pumphandled Gibson’s arm, until he pulled the switcheroo and it was Eaton blindly working over Condrey. Midnights teased problems and Cornette had to play peacemaker, but as usual, it was all to lull their opponents into a false sense of security. Cornette grabbed Gibson’s leg and blasted him with the tennis racket. After brief heat on Gibson, they went to the finish: Morton got the sleeper on Condrey. Cornette tried to interfere, so Morton popped him. Condrey hit Morton with a chain. Morton kicked out. The R & R pinned the state-of-shock Midnights with double roll ups.
Cornette got a pop for saying he and the Midnights would never come back to Atlanta.
NOTES: Among the notables backstage were Jerry Jarrett, Pam and Bob Allyn, Gordon Solie’s daughter and son-in-law, NWA Top Rope promoter Mike Sircy and NWA Tennessee Champion, “Boogie Woogie Boy” Gary Valiant. They showed that earlier today, Josh Mathews went to Big Show's bus to ask what his strategy was tonight. Show said Cena needed strategy, since he was unable to put the STF on him. Show said he would embarrass Cena tonight, saying the beating would be worse than when he threw Cena into a spotlight at Backlash.
They recapped the great Jericho-Mysterio sneak attack angle from two weeks ago.
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho in a No Holds Barred match.
Chris Jericho's music hit, but instead of coming out via the ramp, they went to Chris Jericho at a merchandise stand. Jericho ripped on Mysterio for "encouraging fans" to play into his "deception" by buying masks. Jericho walked down the stand to the ring, cutting his promo on Mysterio while also yelling at any fan who tried to touch him. Jericho said he would make the masks the fans buy "even more worthless" by ripping apart Rey's mask tonight while going on to become a nine-time Intercontinental Champion.
Rey tackled Jericho at the bell and kicked him to the floor. Rey stomped Jericho on the outside and rammed him into the announce table, then ripping the lid off the Raw table and hit Jericho with it. Jericho fell down, and Rey dropkicked him in the face. Jericho elbowed Rey in the gut, then rammed Rey into the security wall. Jericho whipped Rey into the steps, but Rey flipped over them, then dropkicked the steps into the legs of an advancing Jericho. Rey hit a kick to the leg, then rammed Jericho head first into the ring steps. Rey tossed Jericho into the security wall, then got on the apron and jumped off, giving Jericho a rana on the floor.
Mysterio tossed Jericho back into the ring and hit a slingshot legdrop to the back of the head for a two count. Jericho kicked Rey in the gut and dropped him gut first across the top rope. Jericho kicked Rey in the ribs, then gave him a catapult into the bottom rope for a two count. Jericho kicked and choked Mysterio in a corner, then whipped him across the ring. Rey floated to the apron and kicked Jericho, then went to the top rope, only for Jericho to crotch him. Rey fell to the apron, where Jericho stomped him. Jericho went for his inside-out springboard, but Rey caught him with a kick from the apron. Jericho went to the floor, then got back on the apron. Rey swung around the ringpost, going from one apron to another, to hit a 619-like kick to the chest. Jericho fell to the floor, and Rey Mysterio went to the top rope and hit a bodypress on the floor.
Rey rolled Jericho back in and hit a springboard splash for a two count, then set up Jericho for a 619. Jericho got up as Rey ran the ropes and the two collided. Jericho went for a slam, but Rey floated over and hit some leg kicks. Rey went for a bodyscissors bulldog, but Jericho blocked it. Rey went into a Victory Roll as a counter, but Jericho reversed it for a two of his own. Jericho went for a sunset flip, Rey rolled through and went for a dropkick, but Jericho caught it and went for Walls Of Jericho, but Rey turned it into a small package for a two count. Rey kicked Jericho in the head, but ran the ropes and Jericho nailed him with a clothesline for a two count.
Jericho slid Mysterio out of the ring and to the floor, where he landed with a thud. Jericho punched Rey on the floor, then dropped him face first on the Raw table lid that had been pulled off earlier. Jericho rolled Rey into the ring for a two count. Jericho applied a sleeper variation, then went after the mask, pulling a lot of it off, before Rey broke free with a kick. Rey dodged a charging Jericho, who went full speed into the ringpost and through the ropes to the floor. Mysterio then nailed Jericho with a tope through the ropes. Rey tossed Jericho in the ring and hit a springboard senton, a tilt-a-whirl headscissors, then a rana, and scored a two count. Rey set up Jericho for the 619, but Jericho caught Rey and gave him a spinning Torture Rack before dropping down with it, then covering Rey for a two count.
Jericho went for the mask again, but Rey hit him in the gut. Rey went for a rana, but Jericho powerbombed him. Jericho went for a Lionsault, but Rey moved. Jericho hit the mat, got up and slumped against the ropes. Rey went for a 619, hitting Jericho in the back of the head. Rey went for a springboard, but Jericho caught him in mid-air with the Codebreaker. Rey kicked out at two, and Jericho was stunned. Jericho went to the floor for a chair, but as he got in the ring with it, Mysterio dropkicked the chair into Jericho for a two count.
Mysterio gave Jericho the old Sabu Arabian Facebuster with the chair for another two count. Rey set up the chair in a corner, and when Jericho approached him, Rey gave him a drop toe hold into the chair. Rey then went for a jump off the chair, but Jericho caught him and put him in the Walls Of Jericho. Rey grabbed the chair, twisted underJericho in the hold, and hit him with the chair in the head. Jericho slumped into the ropes. Rey went for a 619, but Jericho grabbed Rey's head and yanked off the mask. Rey covered his face with his hands, and Jericho rolled up Rey from behind for the pin at the 15 minute mark.

CM Punk vs. Umaga in a Samoan Strap match.
The match is being held under traditional "touch all four corners in succession" strap match rules. They had a cool graphic to show who had touched corners. Punk charged Umaga, and Umaga quickly took him down with an elbow. Umaga went for a corner, but Punk attacked with a jumping knee and some shots, then tried to touch corners, but Umaga yanked him over with the strap and hit a Samoan Drop. Umaga then whipped Punk with the strap repeatedly. Umaga hit a diving headbutt, then yanked Punk across the mat, stood on the floor, and used the strap to yank Punk's shoulder against the ringpost. Umaga slammed Punk's arm against the ring steps twice and returned to the ring.
Umaga dropped Punk across the top rope gut first, then superkicked him off the apron and to the floor. Umaga started touching corners, with Punk on the floor and the strap going over the top rope. Umaga had trouble reaching three, and went towards Punk. Punk hit a kick to the head from the apron, then a springboard clothesline. Punk called for the GTS, but Umaga slid off and hit a spin kick. Umaga missed an avalanche, and Punk yanked the strap between Umaga's legs. Umaga fell to the floor in pain, and Punk used the strap to pull Umaga into the ringpost. Back in the ring, Punk hit a running knee and a bulldog, then touched three corners. Umaga pulled Punk towards him with the strap and hit a spinning side slam.
Umaga touched three corners, but Punk clung to the ring ropes so Umaga could not get to the fourth. Umaga charged Punk, who ducked and sent Umaga over the top rope and to the floor. Punk touched two corners with Umaga on the floor, and managed to reach the third. Umaga yanked the strap to pull Punk down and stop his momentum. From the apron, Umaga hit a thrust chop to the throat. Umaga went to the top rope, but Punk pulled him down with the strap, almost like an extended armdrag. Punk touched three corners, but Umaga pulled on the strap to stop him on his way to the fourth. Umaga pulled himself closer and closer with the strap, and went for the Samoan Spike, but Punk ducked it, hit the GTS on Umaga, and touched the fourth corner for the win at the nine minute mark.
Winner: CM Punk.
Gregory Helms interviewed Christian. Christian talked about how if he wins tonight, he ends the career of Tommy Dreamer. Christian acted like he was in deep thought about it, and then said "I'm sure going to miss him" and cracked some jokes about Dreamer, saying his body looks like a melted candle. Christian then said he hoped he and Dreamer could still be friends, but he was keeping the ECW Title. Dreamer entered, cracking on Christian, saying if he was the candle, Christian had the body of a wick, and the two argued. Jack Swagger entered, and was about to start talking, but Christian and Dreamer just walked away from him, ignoring him.
ECW Champion Christian vs. Jack Swagger vs. Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules match.
They did the "big match" intros for this bout after all the entrances were done. Christian and Dreamer advanced on Swagger at the start, with Dreamer chasing Swagger around the ring and getting caught with a Swagger kick on the way in. Christian hit Swagger with shots, but Swagger slammed him down. Swagger tossed Christian from the ring and backdropped Dreamer, who fell to the floor. Dreamer and Christian went under the ring and pulled out weapons. There was an "ECW" chant. Dreamer hit Swagger with a Singapore Cane and Christian hit him with a trash can lid. They took turns hitting him, and Dreamer hit the old Sandman White Russian Legsweep on Swagger, but Christian broke up the cover. Christian and Dreamer traded weapons shots, and Dreamer gave Christian a suplex using the cane.

Backstage, Vickie Guerrero, in an evening gown, was warming up by throwing punches into Chavo Guerrero's hands. Chavo was wearing a pig nose, and making pig noses to motivate her. Vickie punched Chavo in the nose when he seemed to be enjoying the noises too much.
Miss Wrestlemania Vickie Guerrero vs. Santina Marella in a Hog Pen Match.
Jerry Lawler, wearing rubber boots, stood in the hog pen to hype the match. There seems to be two fences areas, one with pigs, and one with just mud and slop buckets. Lawler handled introductions for the match as well. The referee had rubber pants on. Vickie was accompanied by Chavo for the match. Vickie was still wearing an evening gown, but she did have sneakers on. Jerry Lawler asked Vickie how she got herself into "this mess", since she is the General Manager of Raw. Vickie said she was making it a handicap match, and Chavo was joining her. Chavo protested, but Vickie ordered Chavo in there. Chavo, in street clothes, took off his shoes and got in the pen in his socks.

Chavo kicked Santina and beat her down. Chavo then tagged in Vickie who entered the pen to kick Santina. Santina popped up and grabbed a slop bucket. Vickie screamed. Chavo got back in and picked up another bucket. Chavo threw the slop at Santina, who ducked and it nailed Vickie. Santina then put another bucket on Chavo's head. Santina then knocked down Vickie and covered her for the pin in the mud at the four minute mark.

They showed the events leading to the WWE Title match.
Backstage, Chavo was still apologizing to Vickie, who was upset over losing her crown. Chavo said he would be able to win in a regular match. Hornswoggle and Goldust approached them, with Hornswoggle laughing. Goldust asked Vickie if she could sign some expense reports, then said they smelled like "shi-sh-shi-shitake mushrooms" and told Hornswoggle not to touch since it was "poo-poo-poo-pig poop". Vickie and Chavo entered their dressing room, and Edge was sitting on the couch. He noted how two months apart and look at them. Edge ordered Chavo out, saying he needed to work on strategy for his title match with his wife Vickie. Vickie said Edge wasn't there for him, so she wasn't going to send any Raw stars out to help Edge tonight. Edge said Vickie would be nothing without him, and the two argued. Edge said Vickie needed to get a good divorce lawyer, because after he finishes off Jeff Hardy, he is ending their "sham" of a marriage. Edge stomped off, and Vickie, covered in mud, slumped on the couch upset.

Show got right up and went to chokeslam Cena, but Cena floated out of it and gave Show the Attitude Adjustment. Cena went for the STF, but Show elbowed it away.
Show decked Cena with a right hand, and Cena fell to the floor. Show went outside and picked Cena up off the mat for a slam, but Cena floated over him and rammed Show headfirst into the ringpost. Both men crawled into the ring, and Cena went to the top rope and nailed Show with a legdrop to the back of the head. Cena tied Show's leg in the bottom and middle rope, then applied a crossface to Big Show. They made it seem like it was an STF because the leg was locked in the ropes. Show tapped out at the 19-minute mark.
Winner: John Cena.

World Champion Edge vs. Jeff Hardy in a Ladder match.
Ladders all around the ring and up the aisle, including two ridiculously tall ladders on the stage. The belt was already hung above the ring before Edge came out. No facepaint for Hardy tonight, and he purposely walked under ladders as he came out.
They locked up and Edge hit a right hand in the corner. Hardy leapfrogged Edge after a whip by Edge and hit a clothesline. Jeff rammed Edge into a corner and kicked him repeatedly. Jeff slammed Edge, then hit a legdrop. Edge came back with a knee to Hardy's gut, then delivered an elbow to the back of the head. Edge hit Hardy with a shoulderblock in a corner, then went for an Implant DDT, but Hardy blocked it and hit a gourdbuster. Hardy rolled out of the ring and went for a ladder, but Edge hit him with a baseball slide kick, knocking the ladder into Hardy. Hardy came back with a forearm as Edge was getting a ladder, and both returned to the ring with no ladder (although one was now leaning against the ring). Edge charged Hardy, and Jeff backdropped Edge out of the ring. Edge collided chest first with the ladder that was leaning against the ring. Jeff pulled the ladder in and started to climb.
Edge pulled Hardy off the ladder and rammed him into it. Edge went for a Hot Shot into the ladder, and Hardy got tangled in the ladder, bending it as he crashed into the mat. Edge tossed the bent ladder and got another one. Edge propped the ladder in a corner and whipped Hardy into it. Edge rammed Hardy into the ladder, then went for a spear, but Hardy leapfrogged him and Edge ran into the ladder. Hardy put the ladder in front of Edge in a corner, then hit the elevated kick into it. Hardy tossed Edge into the ladder, then went for a baseball slide kick, but Edge moved and Hardy crashed into the ladder. Edge put Hardy's leg between the halves of the ladder and rammed the top half down on it. Edge then pulled Hardy so his torso was trapped in the ladder, and applied a Sharpshooter. Hardy tapped, but there are no submissions in a ladder match.
Edge tossed Hardy to the floor, and Jeff clutched his leg. Edge set up the ladder and began to climb, but Jeff went to the top rope and dropkicked the ladder, sending Edge crashing to the mat. Hardy put the open ladder, upside down, against the ropes. He picked up Edge for a suplex, then dropped him gut first across the supports of the ladder, causing the ladder to close on Edge as he hit them. Hardy went to the floor and brought in a bigger ladder. I mean, a HUGE ladder. Jeff gave Edge a Twist Of Fate, then climbed the ladder, which was far away from the title belt. Edge rolled away from the ladder. Hardy tipped the ladder and jumped onto the cable holding the title belt as the ladder fell. Edge grabbed Jeff's legs and pulled Hardy down to the mat before Jeff could grab the title belt. Hardy hit the ladder on the mat when he landed.
Edge set up the ladder in the corner, but Hardy rammed Edge into it, then climbed halfway up the ladder and hit the Whisper In The Wind. Hardy pulled another ladder into the ring. Hardy set up this ladder closer to the title belt. Edge got up, and Hardy clotheslined him, both men tumbling to the floor. Edge hit a running kick on the outside. Edge bridged a ladder between the ring apron and security wall. Edge went for a suplex, but Hardy blocked it and rammed Edge into the security wall. Hardy threw a ladder into Edge at ringside. Hardy set up the ringsteps and went to whip Edge, but Edge reversed the whip and sent Hardy into the steps. Edge threw Hardy into the security wall and a ladder. Edge grabbed the steps, but Hardy tripped Edge into them. Hardy then used the steps to launch off, hooking Edge's head and ramming him into the security wall.
Hardy put Edge on the ladder that was bridged at ringside, then set up a huge ladder, fairly far away. Hardy climbed up, but Edge rolled off and climbed up the other side. They fought on top of the ladder, which toppled, and both Edge and Hardy crashed through the bridged ladder, breaking it in half. Referees checked on both men. Hardy clutched his shoulder, which didn't hit the ladder, but bounced off the floor upon landing. They got back in the ring and slugged it out, with Jeff Hardy knocking Edge into a referee. Hardy climbed the ladder under the belt, while Edge climbed the one in the corner. Edge jumped off the ladder, looking to spear Hardy off the ladder, but Hardy caught him with a Twist Of Fate off the ladder as he attempted the move.
Jeff Hardy climbed the ladder, but Edge climbed the other side and knocked Jeff down. Jeff reached between the halves of the ladder and yanked both of Edge's legs though the space between two ladder rungs. Hardy kept pulling, so Edge's body was wedged between the rungs, his legs dangling between the ladder. Edge was trapped, and Hardy climbed the ladder and grabbed the title belt at the 21-minute mark.
Winner and new World Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Hardy.
Jim Ross entered the ring to interview Jeff Hardy, when CM Punk's music hit. Mixed reaction to Punk coming out. Punk ran out, gave the Money In The Bank briefcase to a referee, and the bell was rung. Punk grabbed Hardy and gave him a GTS. Hardy kicked out at the two count. Punk grabbed Hardy for a second, but Jeff rolled Punk into a small package for a one count. Punk kicked Hardy in the head, delivered a second GTS, and hooked both of Punk's legs for the pin at under a minute.

2010 - A representative of the Moore County Superior Court confirmed to PWInsider.com earlier today that three of the four charges against TNA star Jeff Hardy were dropped earlier this week by prosecutors.
Hardy had a hearing last week on the morning of 6/3. The Moore County representative confirmed the following charges against Hardy were officially dropped at that hearing -
*Felony drug trafficking, Two felony charges of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance or drug.
*Felony possession of cocaine, Felony maintaining a dwelling for redistribution of controlled substances.
*Misdemeanor Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Those were the charges brought against Hardy when he was arrested following a raid of his North Carolina home in September 2009.
The Moore County Courthouse would not confirm the charges being dropped until today. Last week, they refused comment citing that Superior Court was still in session at the time of the request.
The Moore County representative declined to comment on why the charges were dropped, but suggested PWInsider.com contact the District Attorney's office. That office did not return messages requesting comment left earlier today.
Considering the most serious charges against the former WWE World champion have been dropped, one can assume Hardy's defense was able to provide considerable doubt as to their veracity.
The only currently remaining charge against Hardy at this time, Conspiracy to Traffic Opium, was added by prosecutors in January 2010.
2010 - WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase underwent surgery to relieve pressure on a pinched nerve in his neck.
2011 - It was announced that former WWF and WCW World champion Randy Savage died from a condition known as ventricular fibrillation, according to his brother Lanny Poffo. Poffo made the announcement during an interview with Florida's Bright House Sports Network.
Ventricular Firbrillation is an abnormal heart arrhythmia, an uncontrolled twitching of the heart that prevents the heart from pumping blood. The condition is considered a cause of both fainting or heart attacks.
Poffo also praised Savage's widow Lynn, commenting, "Randy's foot was still on the accelerator. She reached over and steered the Jeep Wrangler into a tree, saving the live of a motorcyclist and possibly a bus. You know, there's no telling what can happen when you're going the wrong way."
2011 - WWE released the Best of WCW Monday Nitro on DVD.
2011 - WWE broadcast NXT. Richard Trionfo filed the following TV report:

2012 - TNA broadcast Impact Wrestling. Stu Carapola filed the following TV report:
Welcome to the LIVE Impact Wrestling Report on PWInsider.com!
After looking back at last week when Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian revealed the ultra-juicy audio recording of what sounded like AJ Styles asking Dixie Carter if it's safe to show up for her husband Serg's birthday party, we go to video from last week when Dixie flipped out after last week's episode. She tore all the way through the back, through the parking lot, and into the truck where she cursed out her director and his staff. We then go out to the ring where a very emotional Dixie Carter says she had no idea what to say this week even though she thought about it all week. Before she could get started saying whatever came to mind, however, Daniels and Kazarian come out to say how hard Daniels knows it is for her to do. He knows the truth, so he'll help her out: the truth is that she made a mistake and she'd have been happy to hide it, except that she found out. Daniels says that Dixie should tell the crowd that she's a woman and she wants what she wants, but the truth is that she had a hole in her heart that Serg couldn't fill, and she found a suitable replacement in AJ Styles. Daniels asked who called who first, and Dixie responds by physically assaulting one of her employees. Daniels knocks her on her ass in the corner and says not to put her hands on him, and AJ Styles runs out to make the save. Daniels and Kazarian clear out of the ring and Dixie sits there looking sad as Serg gets in the ring and shoots AJ a dirty look. Serg, a non-wrestler, knocks the four time former World Champion on his ass and walks out. Dixie looks sad, but AJ goes and hugs her anyway.
When they went to commercial, online, Jeremy Borash reviewed what we had just seen and announced Austin Aries vs. Crimson would be next. They went to a pre-taped interview with Aries who said that Crimson has a streak but he has one of the X-Division champion and as a the best dressed man in TNA. He said that he's just short of a year since returning and Chris Sabin was a tough challenge last week. He had to dig down and the Bully Ray match wasn't easy either. They are all very good but they aren't great like him. Borash asked Aries his thoughts on what just went down. He said that when you are the longest reigning champion for TNA, you don't have time to worry about other people. He said he was sure they would get it all sorted out. He left, saying he had to go get his cape.
After the commercial, Mike Tenay says what we saw was just so uncomfortable, that we need to see it again, especially the part where AJ gets laid out by the non-wrestler. But first, let's head to the ring for our opening match...
Crimson vs Austin Aries
Aries has a little run-in backstage with Samoa Joe before he goes to the ring about Aries accidentally spraying Joe in the face. Aries says they've known each other for a lon time and if he wanted to disrespect Joe, he'd know it. Aries tries to go behind Crimson, but Crimson uses his power to toss Aries across the ring. Aries tries another tactic and kicks at the legs of Crimson, but Crimson just powers him into the corner and hits him with shoulderblocks before yelling that Aries is nothing. Crimson catches Aries on a leapfrog attempt, but Aries slips out of Crimson's grip and kicks at Cirmson's legs again, then hits a flurry of punches and dropkicks the inside of Crimson's leg. Aries with a kneebreaker and a roaring elbow, and Crimson goes down. Aries goes to the floor and trips Crimson's ankle, then comes in with a slingshot twisting splash for 2. He tries a Lionsault, but Crimson gets his knees up and gets to his feet. He waits for Aries to get to his feet and goes for the Red Sky, but Aries counters to a Frankensteiner. Aries with the IED and goes for the brainbuster, but Crimson nails Aries and dumps him to the floor. Crimson goes after him, but Aries quickly slides inside and hits the heat seeking missile through the ropes. Aries rolls Crimson back into the ring and Aries goes up top, but Joe comes out and trips Aries, causing him to fall on his face on the ring apron. Joe rolls Aries inside and Crimson quickly takes advantage by pinning Aries.
Winner: Crimson
I guess Joe wasn't satisfied with the explanation Aries gave him. Crimson gets a microphone and says there is nobody here who can beat him, he's gone through everybody and just went through Austin Aries singlehandedly. He's been undefeated for 478 days, longer than even Goldberg. He's the most dominant man in wrestling history, and he'll prove it this weekend at Sliammiversary when he issues an open challenge. He's setting himself up for some Honky Tonk Man-style trouble there.
Hulk Hogan is backstage talking about 37 different things, but seems most interested in wishing Brooke luck in her new job and hopes she's ready for it.
During the commercial break, online, Socal Val interviewed TNA Tag Team champions Daniels and Kazarian after Jeremy Borash refused. Daniels said that they feel liberated by exposing Dixie and Styles' sordid affair. Kazarian said that if there was ever a time to wave the white flag and let the truth set you free it was now. He said there's damage happening to the Carter and Styles families. He said that people want to blame the messengers but they didn't draw first blood. Socal Val asked them how do they know that what they say is really going on. They said that they showed everyone the proof and if she doesn't believe them, what more can they say. They walked off. Val called them the most hated men in TNA.
Brooke Hogan is in the Knockouts locker room telling Mickie James, Velvet Sky, Brooke Tessmacher, and Tara how talented and beautiful they all are and that she wants to prove how tough they are by putting them in a four way tonight. Brooke also says that she did promise to get them all media appearances, so the first one goes to Velvet Sky, who will be in a Montgomery Gentry music video. Mickie doesn't look happy at that, but she joins into the group hug anyway.
Speaking of the Cursed Family, Hulk Hogan comes out to the ring to address the maniacs, brother. He's psyched to be there for TNA's ten year anniversary (the crowd starts a TNA chant), and the party's going through Slammiversary and then ending on next week's Impact Wrestling. As a special surprise, there's going to be a World Title defense next week regardless of who walks out of Slammiversary with the World Title. This brings out Bobby Roode, who must have been standing right behind the curtain because his music hit the instant the words came out of Hogan's mouth. He has a great idea for Hogan: that he should shut his mouth and show the World Champion the respect he deserves. Hogan's been showing him nothing but disrespect since a few weeks ago when he became the longest-reigning champion in company history. Then last week, he puts him in a Lumberjack Match with Sting, and now he's in a six man tag just days before another title defense. Hogan tries to interrupt, but Roode says he's not done yet, because after beating Sting at Slammiversary, he's got to show up next week to defend his title again. He thinks it's because Hogan's jealous of Roode because, even in his prime, Hogan could never lace up his boots. Roode says he's a better champion and wrestler than Hogan, then he grabs Hogan by the shirt and tells him to get out of his ring. Sting's music hits and he comes out to the ring, but Roode jumps him on his way in and beats him down. Roode turns to yell at Hogan, but Sting is back on his feet and goes to town on Roode, who slips out of the ring and heads for the hills.
The Knockouts are backstage, and they're...STRETCHING!
During the commercial, Jeremy Borash was in front of TNA TV champion Devon who was preparing for a match against Robbie E later on. They went to Jimmy Jay pushing a merchandise special for ShopTNA.com
Joseph Park is backstage freaking out because he went from being a concerned family member looking for his brother, and was just looking for truth and justice. Maybe now this weekend, he'll get a little of both.
Mickie James vs Velvet Sky vs Tara vs Brooke Tessmacher
All four girls get in the ring and trade punches, Tara and Brooke try to double team Velvet but she boots Tara in the face, and then she and Mickie work together to take them out. Gail Kim comes out to the top of the ramp as Mickie gets a couple of quick 2 counts on Velvet, and we're at commercial.
During the commercial, Jeremy Borash interviewed TNA TV champion Devon online. Devon said that the time has come to rid of that no good piece of garbage Robbie E. He said that he beat Robbie, then he beat Robbie T and then beat both of them. He asked what part of this doesn't Robbie doesn't understand - that he's not going to beat Devon. He promised to take out Robbie tonight.
They showed some footage of the Knockouts match ongoing as Jeremy Borash talked over some of the things that have taken place during Impact. He said things were going down with Hulk Hogan and they would have details later.
We're back and Mickie is still beating Velvet up, but Brooke comes into the ring and catches a beating as well. Mickie gets an enziguiri, but Brooke gets a DDT and covers for 2. Now Velvet and Brooke go at it and Velvet dumps Brooke to the floor, then Tara sneaks in and rolls Velvet up for 2. Gail is at the broadcast booth saying she'll be answering questions on Twitter after the match as Tara gets another 2 count on Velvet, then she gets Velvet in a Boston Crab, Mickie gets Tara in a Dragon sleeper, and Brooke gets Mickie in a conventional sleeper. The whole thing breaks up as Velvet cradles Tara for 2, then kicks her out to the floor. We're down to Mickie and Velvet, Velvet gets some offense and a flying headscissors, but Mickie flapjacks her and then gets dumped to the floor by Tara. Tara goes to the top rope, but misses the moonsault as Velvet rolls out of the way. It's down to Brooke and Tara, and they go toe to toe and Tara hits a spinning TKO. Tara sets for the ass shaking standing moonsault, but takes too long and Velvet nails her. Mickie comes off the top with a Thesz Press on Velvet and then knocks her out with a superkick, but Brooke comes in from behind and hits a big damn atomic flapjack on Mickie for the win.
Winner: Brooke Tessmacher
Bully Ray is backstage holding the NEW legal document that Joseph Park will have the fiduciary responsibility to sign if he has his brother's best interests in mind.
During the commercial break online, Jeremy Borash interviewed Joseph Park. He said that he's going to put up his dukes and fight at Slammiversary. He said that he's never been in a fight but won't back down to Bully Ray or anyone. He said he's going to defend his brother Chris. Jeremy Borash said that every time he's in the ring with Bully Ray something happens and asks Park to make sure nothing happens. Park said that knows Jeremy and Abyss go far back and if he needs it, Joseph will have his back. Borash asked him what he thinks of what happened with Dixie Carter and her husband Serg. Park said that if anyone involved needs a good lawyer they should call him.
Park left and Bully Ray arrived. He said Borash should be petrified of what might happen in the ring. He said his goal is to make everyone hate him. Borash said there were a lot of Brits watching. Bully Ray ripped on them and said the Queen's Jubilee must be a porno. That was a great line.
We take a look back on the events of earlier tonight with AJ Styles, Dixie Carter, and company, and then we go to Hulk Hogan, who is on the phone with AJ Styles. Seems like AJ doesn't want to come back to Impact, but Hogan says he doesn't give a crap about his personal problems because he's booked in the main event and had better come back. Hogan hangs up and calls AJ a son of a bitch.
We go to the ring as Jeremy Borash introduces a contract signing for a match we never thought we'd see, between a self-professed bully and a lawyer who's never been in a fight in his life. He introduces Bully Ray first, and he plays the "do you know who I am" pop quiz game, then Borash introduces Joseph Park, who looks like he crapped his pants. Bubba tears up the contract, saying it was a standard contract for a standard wrestling match, and in his hand, he holds a different contract for a hardcore match so he can't be held responsible for doing all kinds of painful things to Park. Bubba signs the contract and then hands it to Park, who shakes as he reads it. Bubba yells at him to sign it, and Park says that he's never been in a fight in his life, and if Bubba thinks he's crazy enough to sign that, then Bubba needs a doctor, not a lawyer. Park refuses to sign it, so Bubba extends his hand to Park. Park reluctantly takes it, so Bubba spits in his face and asks if he's going to sign it now. Park wipes his glasses off as Bubba calls him an f'n coward and tells him to sign it. Park says that his brother gave his life to this company and gave his blood and body for TNA and the people here, and how dare Bubba try to desecrate his legacy. If Bubba wants an all out fight at Slammiversary, then he's on. He's not doing it for Bubba or anyone else, he's doing it for his brother Chris. Park signs the contract, but Abyss appears on screen and says that Joseph spent their whole lives opening doors he had no business opening. He warned Joseph for weeks to step away from the fire, but now it's too late. Park says he did it to help Abyss, but Abyss says he never needed his help, and he knows Bubba was saying he left him for dead, but he asks Bubba how dead he looks. Both Bubba and Joseph will see him at Slammiversary, and Joseph tells Abyss not to go as he disappears from the screen, and Bubba nails Joseph from behind and lays him out.
Garett Bischoff comes into Devon's locker room and offers to watch his back during his match tonight, and Devon is so impressed that he offers to team with Garett this weekend at Slammiversary.
During the break, Jeremy Borash hosted TNA Knockouts champion Gail Kim, who took questions from fans via Twitter. She said that Slammiversary will be just another random victory under her belt. She predicted Bobby Roode would defeat Sting at the PPV. Kim said Molly Holly and Tito Santana were inspirations in getting into the business. Kim said competing is the best feeling in the world and she does it for the fans. She said that she literally built the division on her back. She said she and Madison Rayne were a great team and would get the titles back whenever they get a title shot. Kim said she was a logical choice for the TNA Hall of Fame.
We look back at last week when Joey Ryan failed to earn a contract in the Gut Check, leading to a confrontation with Taz. Mike Tenay asks Taz if he had any second thoughts since last week, and Taz says he didn't for a minute. We go to comments Joey Ryan made backstage after losing the Gut Check last week, and he says Taz isn't the Human Suplex Machine anymore and he hasn't been relevant in years. Al Snow gets in Ryan's face and says to watch his mouth, Ryan continues to disrespect Snow by calling him pathetic, so Snow physically turns him around and walks him out the door.
TV Title Match: Devon vs Robbie E
Garett is in Devon's corner, Robbie T is in E's corner. Robbie goes right after Devon, beating him down to the mat and choking him on the ropes. Madison Rayne is out on the ramp and appears to be checking out someone in the ring, but we don't know who, and are left to speculate as E hits a back elbow for 2. Devon finally starts firing back on E and takes him out with a flying shoulderblock. Devon with a Rock Bottom and a leaping headbutt off the ropes, but T grabs his ankle from the floor. Garett goes after T and gets held back by the referee as Devon gets E in a small package. T comes into the ring and rollsthe small package over to put E on top, but the referee sees him and chases him out of the ring, allowing Garett to come in and reverse it back to Devon on top. The referee turns around and sees Devon on top and counts 3.
Winner: Devon
Robbie T attacks Devon from behind, but Devon and Garett turn the tide and clear the ring.
During the commercial, they showed Sting preparing for the six man tag.
Gail Kim returned to answer more questions. She said she was the greatest champion ever and anyone who thought Brooke Tessmacher could defeat her was negative and bitter and she doesn't like that because she's a positive person. She turned down answering where she was most ticklish. She said Madison Rayne is her best friend in the world but the other women are too catty since they either want to beat her or have a crush on her.
Hulk Hogan is out in the ring saying Bobby Roode interrupted him before he could make his big announcement, so- oh wait, Ken Anderson interrupts now and does his whole entrance. He comes out and does asshole stuff, then says that Hogan was about to announce that he's getting a title shot. Hogan says that he would love to finish his announcement with Mr Asshole's permission, so he calls RVD down to the ring. Anderson looks none too happy to see him, so Hogan ups the ante by calling Jeff Hardy out as well. Hogan says that they've all spent the last two months trying to get a title shot, so since there's going to be a title maych on Impact next week, the challenger will be decided by a match between the three of them at Slammiversary.
It's main event time! Well, mostly. AJ Styles doesn't show up, so Sting and Angle are going it 3-on-2.
World Champion Bobby Roode and World Tag Team Champions Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian vs Sting, AJ Styles & Kurt Angle
The heels jumps Sting and Angle at first, but Sting and Angle quickly get Daniels and Kazarian in their submission holds as Roode runs to the outside. Daniels and Kazarian get free and run to the outside, and we go to commercial.
We're back and Sting is in trouble, as he's getting beat down by Daniels and then locked in a rear chinlock. Kazarian comes in and works Sting over in the corner, then gets the referee's attention while Daniels and Roode beat Sting up in the corner. Kazarian with a leg lariat for 2, then chokes him with his knee. Roode comes in and Sting fires up and comes back at Roode, but misses a Stinger Splash. Daniels nails Angle before Sting can make a tag, and the heel team come in and triple team Sting by putting the boots to him in the middle of the ring. Roode tells Daniels and Kazarian to back off as Roode gets Sting in the Crippler Crossface, but AJ Styles suddenly hops the rail and comes into the ring, taking out all three opponents. He chases Daniels out to the floor as Angle recovers andgoes to work on Kazarian. Angle suplexes Kazarian to the floor and goes out after him as AJ and Daniels get back in the ring. Styles ducks a clothesline and hits a Pelle kick that sends Daniels outside, then hits a somersault dive. Roode tries to hit Sting with the belt, but Sting ducks, picks the legs, and gets Roode in the Scorpion Deathlock. Roode has nowhere to go and taps out.

Sting picks up the World Title belt and holds it in the air before tossing it to Roode, who grabs it and runs.
