Female wrestling star Vivian St. John, who was trained by The Fabulous Moolah and was a regular member of Moolah's troupe of female talents in the 1970s and 1980s, passed away this morning following a lengthy illness.
St. John was originally from Florida and became interested in the business at a young age. She came across Harley Race and inquired about getting into the business and he passed on Moolah's information. She invested $300 and began training with Moolah in South Carolina shortly afterward.
St. John was a regular babyface working different territories for Moolah teaming with Susan Green as a cowgirl tag team, wrestling for about 12 years for different promotions before stepping out of the ring in the late 1980s.
Later on, St. John also booked for one of the earliest Howard Brody independent promotions, The Wild World of Women's Wrestling.
