1963 - Killer Kowalski & Gorilla Monsoon defeat Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard to win the United States (WWWF version) tag team championship.
1973 - At a WWWF television taping in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, Tony Garea & Dean Ho defeat Toru Tanaka & Mr. Fuji to win the WWWF World Tag Team Title.
1981 - WWF World Champion Bob Backlund defeated Intercontinental Champion Don Muraco in the main event of a show at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (only the World Title was on the line). The match had a 90-minute time limit, due to a one hour draw between the two the previous month. However, this bout only went 20 minutes. The real draw of the card was a stretcher match between Andre The Giant and Killer Khan, with Andre looking for revenge on Khan for "breaking" his leg. Andre hit Khan with splashes before he was carried off on the stretcher.
1986 - WWF World Tag Team Champions The British Bulldogs defeated The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) via disqualification in what would appear to be a rare (at the time) babyface vs. babyface match. However, the match was held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where hometown hero Rick Martel was hugely popular, so the Bulldogs, who got their first break in the Western part of Canada (Calgary), played heel for the match.
1999 - WWF held the Survivor Series in Detroit, Michigan at the Joe
Louis Arena. WWF faced a lot of criticism for running an angle on the PPV
where Steve Austin was hit by a car, resulting in him being unable to wrestle in
the main event against Triple H and The Rock. WWF knew in advance that the
injured Austin would be unable to wrestle, but waited until after the PPV began
(and fans had already purchased the event) before running the angle and creating
a storyline reason for his absence. Here are the results from the show:
- The
Godfather, D'Lo Brown & The Headbangers defeated The Acolytes & The Dudleys in
an elimination match. Godfather & Brown were the survivors.
- In his
WWF televised debut, Kurt Angle defeated Sean Stasiak.
- Val Venis, Mark
Henry, Gangrel & Steve Blackman defeated Davey Boy Smith & The Mean Street Posse
in an elimination match. Venis & Henry were the survivors.
- The Fabulous
Moolah, Mae Young, Tori & Debra defeated Ivory, Luna Vachon, Jacquelyn & Terri
Runnels when Moolah pinned Ivory.
- Kane defeated X-Pac via DQ.
- The Big
Show defeated Big Bossman, Prince Albert, Mideon & Viscera in a handicap
elimination match. Big Show was supposed to team with Blue Meanie &
Kaientai, but he beat them up in the locker room before the match.

2004 - The Survivor Series was held in Cleveland, Ohio at the Gund Arena. Here is our original report from the show.
SURVIVOR SERIES REPORTThe pay-per-view opened with a video that showed a few classic moments from the last 18 years of Survivor Series events. All three announce teams (Raw, Smackdown and Spanish) were at ringside.
Cruiserweight Champion Spike Dudley vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Billy Kidman.
Michael Cole said that the other Dudleys were out "indefinitely" due to Big Show beating them up two weeks ago. The match was held with all four men in the ring, one fall. Chavo went after Kidman at the start, while Spike went at it with Rey. Spike gave Rey a double stomp, then went after Chavo. Spike and Kidman double teamed Chavo, until Kidman dropkicked Spike as he was charging for a clothesline. Rey gave Kidman a facebuster and clotheslined him to the floor. Rey and Chavo, left alone in the ring, went at it, trading reversals and counters. Rey used a rana to escape a powerbomb, and went for a Quebrada moonsault, but Chavo caught it, and Rey had to armdrag out. Spike came in and stomped Rey in a corner, but Chavo began hitting Spike with forearms. Chavo and Spike clotheslined each other. Kidman and Rey fought on the ropes, and Rey gave Kidman a top rope rana, taking Kidman off the apron and to the floor. Chavo tossed Rey over the top rope to avoid a bulldog, and Rey landed on Kidman. Chavo gave Kidman and Rey a pescado. Spike was left alone in the ring, and went for a pescado, but missed as Chavo and Rey moved. Kidman was tossed into the ring by Chavo and Rey, then Chavo pulled Rey down from the apron so he could have Kidman to himself.
Chavo backdropped Kidman and planted him with a back suplex, but Spike broke up the cover. Spike slugged it out with Chavo, but Spike hit a reverse atomic drop and a lariat. Rey broke up the cover. Spike whipped Rey hard into a corner for a two count. Spike went for a Quebrada, but Spike ducked it and slid Rey out of the ring. Spike went to the top rope, but Chavo stopped him and went for a superplex. Kidman got behind Chavo for an electric chair, and took Chavo down as Chavo superplexed Spike. Rey got back into the ring and covered Chavo for two, then covered Spike, but Kidman broke it up. Kidman gave Rey a BK Bomb and set up for a Shooting Star, but Chavo knocked him off the top rope and to the floor. Spike charged Chavo with a headbutt to the ribs, and Chavo fell to the floor. Spike hit a headbutt to the gut on Rey, and went for a Dudley Dog, but Rey flipped out of it and tripped Spike into the ropes. Rey hit the 619, but as he went for a springboard, Kidman pulled him down. Chavo gave Spike a Gory Bomb. Kidman gave Chavo a slingshot legdrop on the back of the head as Chavo covered Spike. Rey took Kidman to the floor with a headscissors, while Spike crawled onto Chavo for the pin at the nine minute mark. Winner: Spike Dudley.
Backstage, Paul Heyman was psyching up Heidenreich and left to get his straitjacket. Gene Snitsky approached Heidenreich. Snitsky said he liked Heidenreich's poetry. Heidenreich said he likes what Snitsky does to babies. They said they would see each other later.
Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian, with Tyson Tomko.
Benjamin started off outwrestling Christian on the mat, then kipped up every time Christian tried to take him down with an armbar. Benjamin hit a shoulderblock, then Christian got in Benjamin's face and trash talked him, so Benjamin started pounding Christian on the mat with punches. Christian tried to toss Benjamin out of the ring, but Benjamin skinned the cat and hit a springboard somersault neckbreaker for two count. Benjamin stayed in control, and Christian bailed out to the floor. Benjamin started arguing with Tomko, and Christian tried to sneak up on him, but Benjamin caught him with a right. As they went back to the ring, Tomko tried to hook Benjamin's leg. This distraction allowed Christian to shoved Benjamin off the apron and into the security wall.
Christian took over on the floor, then choked Benjamin when they returned to the ring. Benjamin came back with a cross bodyblock, but Christian kicked out and hit a neckbreaker, then ripped at the face of Benjamin. Christian applied a rear chinlock, and as Benjamin fought up, Christian pulled Benjamin through the ropes and to the floor. Christian continued to brawl for the advantage, and got a two count with an inverted DDT. Christian stood on Benjamin's back as he choked him on the middle rope. Christian started slapping and trash talking Benjamin, firing him up. Benjamin whipped Christian hard into the buckles, and both men were down on the mat. Benjamin hit a clothesline as they got up, then a flying forearm. Benjamin got a two count with a side Russian legsweep, then rolled up Christian after pulling him away from the ropes for two. Christian went for a reverse DDT, but Benjamin hit a reverse slingshot suplex for a two count.
Benjamin rammed Christian into a corner, but missed a Stinger Splash. Christian hit an implant DDT for a two count. Tomko slid the IC Title belt into the ring and distracted the referee. Christian charged with the belt, but Benjamin booted him in the face. Benjamin hit Christian with a top rope clothesline for a two count. As the referee got the belt out of the ring, Tomko ran in and kicked Benjamin in the face. Christian got a two count when the referee turned around. Tomko got on the apron, but Benjamin gave him a spinkick to knock him down. Christian went for an Unprettier, but Benjamin escaped, leapfrogged Christian and hit an Exploder suplex for the pin at the twelve minute mark. Winner: Shelton Benjamin.
Kurt Angle approached Edge in the back, and complained about a story in Edge's book about how Angle almost bled to death once. Angle made fun of Edge for never winning the World Title, and for losing at the Taboo Tuesday fan balloting to an injured Shawn Michaels. Edge said he took out Shawn Michaels, something Angle could never do. Angle said he could make Shawn Michaels tap in seconds. Angle left Edge, and was approached by Eugene. Eugene ran down a list of Angle's accomplishments, then started doing a "You Suck" chant, annoying Angle.
Survivor Series Rules: Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak & Carlito Caribbean Cool, with Jesus, vs. Eddie Guerrero, Big Show, Rob Van Dam & John Cena.
Big Show had his left foot heavily taped up. Cena came out last, and looked very serious. Cena went after Cool and Jesus, fighting Jesus all the way into the back, while at the same time chasing Carlito. Cena starting pounding Jesus in the back, while yelling at a quickly retreating Carlito for "sending his boy after him". They fought into the parking lot, and Jesus and Carlito got in a car, and sped off. Cena headed back to the ring. I guess Carlito is eliminated before the match even begins.
Meanwhile, Kurt Angle was complaining to the referee about only having three men on his team now. A brawl broke out, and Big Show dragged Mark Jindrak into the ring to officially start the match. Show beat on Jindrak for a while, then tagged in RVD, who hit some kicks. Guerrero and RVD hit a hilo/Rolling Thunder combo on Jindrak. Guerrero gave Jindrak a headscissors, and when Reigns ran in, he dropkicked him. Guerrero hit a headscissor/armdrag combo on Reigns and Jindrak. Angle ran in to cut off Guerrero, then tagged in legally to stomp him down in a corner. Reigns tagged in and gave Guerrero a pair of backbreakers and a side slam for a two count. Jindrak tagged in and hit a back elbow on Guerrero, then applied a full nelson. Guerrero rammed Jindrak into the buckles to escape. Kurt Angle tagged in and kept Guerrero from tagging out. Angle hit an overhead belly to belly suplex, and put Guerrero in his corner so his teammates could work him over. Guerrero escaped a Jindrak chinlock with a jawbreaker, then hit Jindrak with a flapjack. Angle tagged in to keep Guerrero from making the tag with a front facelock. Angle put Guerrero in his corner again. Jindrak tagged in and slammed Guerrero for a two count. Jindrak hit a series of elbows, stopping to do a Rick Rude hip swivel. Jindrak applied a reverse waistlock, but Guerrero escaped and hit a rana. RVD got the hot tag, and went at it with Angle, hitting a monkeyflip and a spin kick. Van Dam went to the top rope, and Jindrak tried to pull Angle out of the ring, so RVD gave him a frog splash. RVD kicked Luther off the apron, and Angle cradled RVD from behind and got the pin, using the ropes for leverage at the eight minute mark. Van Dam had his arms in the ropes too, but the referee counted anyway. Eliminated: Rob Van Dam.
Eddie Guerrero immediately cradled Mark Jindrak for a quick pin, using the ropes for leverage. Eliminated: Mark Jindrak.
The Big Show went after Angle, but Luther Reigns clipped his injured ankle. However, Big Show grabbed Luther by the throat and chokeslammed him for the pin at the ten minute mark. Eliminated: Luther Reigns.
The Big Show grabbed Angle by the throat, but Angle rolled into an ankle lock. Show kicked it off, and Angle fell to the floor. Kurt Angle tried to leave the ringside area, but Rob Van Dam headed him off and backed Angle back towards the ring. Big Show grabbed Angle and tossed him back into the ring. John Cena hit Angle with an FU, and Guerrero followed with a frog splash. Big Show then got the pin on Angle at the twelve minute mark. Eliminated: Kurt Angle. Survivors: Big Show, Eddie Guerrero & John Cena.
Jonathan Coachman interviewed Maven, asking if he really deserved to be in the Survivor Series main event tonight. Maven said he was going to show Coach he deserved to be in it, when Gene Snitsky attacked him from behind. Snitsky beat Maven into a bloody mess before walking away.

Heidenreich wore his straitjacket to the ring, but had it off before Undertaker made his entrance. They had a long staredown at the bell, then Undertaker blocked a right hand and started working over Heidenreich with punches. Taker ran into a Heidenreich elbow, but hit a boot to the face and a pair of elbowdrops for a two count. Taker applied a keylock and rammed Heidenreich shoulder first into the corner. Undertaker went to work on the arm, and went for Old School, but Heidenreich hit a low blow as Paul Heyman distracted the referee. Heyman distracted the ref again as Heidenreich pulled Taker groin first into the ringpost. Heidenreich worked over the Undertaker on the floor with punches, yelling "Undertaker, I can beat you". Heidenreich tried to ram Taker into the ringsteps, but Taker blocked it and rammed Heidenreich into the steps. Taker put Heidenreich on the ring apron and drove elbows into his head, then legdropped him as he was stretched over the apron.
Back in the ring, Undertaker did the Old School ropewalk and hit the top rope forearm. Undertaker trapped Heidenreich's arm and hit a faceplant for a two count. Undertaker charged for a boot to the face, but Heidenreich ducked and Taker caught himself on the top rope. Heidenreich knocked Taker off the apron and into the security wall. Heidenreich worked over Taker on the floor with punches, then rolled Taker into the ring for a two count. Taker battled back with punches, but Heidenreich booted him back down for a two count. Heidenreich applied a rear naked choke on Undertaker, but Taker battled out and punched him to the mat. Heidenreich hit a clothesline, but Taker kicked him in the gut repeatedly, until Heidenreich hit another clothesline. Heidenreich dropped some elbows, but Taker rolled away from the third one and blocked Heidenreich's suplex attempt. Taker took Heidenreich over with his own vertical suplex.
Taker and Heidenreich exchanged right hands, and Heidenreich tossed Taker to the floor after kicking away a backdrop. Heidenreich grabbed Taker from the apron, but Taker dropped down and pulled Heidenreich throat first across the top rope. Taker hit a top rope clothesline for a two count. Taker clothesline Heidenreich in a corner, then hit Snake Eyes and a big boot to the face. Taker got a two count with a legdrop. Taker went for a chokeslam, but Heidenreich escaped it with a knee to the gut. Taker booted a charging Heidenreich, but Heidenreich caught Taker with a sidewalk slam. Heidenreich argued with the referee over a two count. Heidenreich got on the middle rope to punch Undertaker, but Undertaker grabbed Heidenreich with a Last Ride powerbomb. Heidenreich grabbed the bottom rope at the two count. Heidenreich applied a sleeperhold, and Taker escaped with a back suplex.
Both men were down on the mat, and Undertaker sat up. Heidenreich missed a clothesline, and Undertaker hit a flying clothesline. Taker hit a chokeslam, then called for the tombstone. Undertaker hit the tombstone and got the pin at the sixteen minute mark. Winner: Undertaker.
Undertaker glared at Heidenreich after the pin, acting amazed at how much it took to beat him, before going into his usual pose.
Backstage, Maria interviewed Eric Bischoff, who informed us that Maven may not be able to wrestle tonight. Eric said that Randy Orton's team could not name a replacement, since Triple H would then file a protest, and Bischoff was not going to spend his vacation in Stamford, Connecticut dealing with it.
The history leading to Trish Stratus vs. Lita was shown.
Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Lita.
Lita slugged Trish before the bell, and knocked her down with right hands. Lita slapped Trish in a corner, and started working her over with punches. Trish retreated to the floor, and Lita went after her. Trish rammed Lita into the announcers table. Lita tripped Trish into a chair at ringside. Lita picked up a chair, but the referee grabbed it from her. Lita picked up another chair and hit Trish twice in the back of the head with it (although the second shot missed badly, and she obviously hit the ringside table). The referee stopped the match. Result: No contest.
Trish got up, and had blood in her hair, and blood coming out of her nose. Lita attacked Trish again, and rammed her face first into the ringpost. Lita started choking Trish and screaming. Officials pulled Lita off of Trish, who complained of having a broken nose.
Backstage, Theodore R. Long told John Cena that Carlito Caribbean Cool would be forced to defend the United States Title against Cena this week on Smackdown.
The events leading to John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Booker T were recapped, emphasizing that JBL would leave Smackdown if he lost tonight.

The two went nose to nose before the bell rang, and then circled each other. They locked up, and Booker went to work with punches, chops and forearms. JBL blocked a backdrop with a clubbing forearm and worked over Booker in a corner. JBL hit a shoulderblock, and blocked a Booker hiptoss, but Booker hit a clothesline out of it, then sent JBL to the floor with a back kick. Booker chased JBL back into the ring, where JBL hit a neckbreaker and a forearm to the back for two. Booker came back with a backdrop and clotheslined JBL to the floor. JBL poked Booker in the eyes on the outside, and tossed Booker over the announcers table to ringside. Booker tripped JBL as he came across the table, and chopped him. Booker tossed JBL into the ring, and Jordan slugged Booker on the floor. Jordan tossed Booker back into the ring, and JBL got a two count.
JBL applied a cobra clutch. Booker broke free, but was taken down with a knee to the gut. JBL delivered a boot to the face, then a trio of elbowdrops for a two count. JBL applied a sleeperhold, and Booker broke free, only for JBL to take him down with a back elbow. JBL went to the top rope, but Booker met him there and hit a superplex. Booker covered JBL for a two count, then JBL pulled Booker by this trunks to send him to the floor. Jordan and Booker started brawling, and Booker rammed Jordan into a ringpost. Booker gave JBL a Bookend on the floor, then superkicked Orlando. Booker dropped Jordan across the security wall, then tossed JBL into the ringsteps. Booker gave Jordan an ax kick, then tossed JBL back into the ring. Booker went to the top rope and hit a missile dropkick for a two count, as JBL grabbed the ropes.
Booker delivered a side slam, then went to the ropes. Jordan distracted Booker as he went up, and Booker paused to make sure he wasn't getting on the apron. Booker then went for the old Harlem Hangover, but JBL moved out of the way. JBL got a two count, then kicked Booker in the head. JBL applied a sleeper, but Booker dropped him with a back suplex. Booker hit a pair of clotheslines, then a spin kick. Booker hit a bicycle kick to the face for two, then set up for the ax kick, but Jordan tripped Booker from the outside. JBL hit Booker with a DDT for a two count. Booker reversed a whip and JBL crashed into the referee. Jordan ran in and attacked Booker. Jordan went to bring a chair into the ring, but Josh Mathews ran in and knocked Jordan off the ring apron. JBL gave Mathews a boot to the face and a clothesline. JBL threw Mathews from the ring. Booker gave JBL a side kick, then knocked Jordan off the apron. Booker gave JBL an ax kick, and covered. A second referee ran in, but Jordan pulled the second referee out as he counted two. Jordan came in with the title belt, but Booker gave him a Bookend. JBL picked up the belt and hit Booker with it. The original referee woke up and counted Booker down at the fifteen minute mark. Winner: John Bradshaw Layfield.
A video was shown on last year's WWE visit to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq. Michael Cole then announced that WWE would be returning to the Middle East this Holiday season to visit the troops again.
Triple H asked Batista if he was ready for the match tonight, and if he had spoken with Edge and Snitsky. Batista said they would be team players tonight, but only because they wanted a shot at the title. Triple H said that Evolution would control the next two weeks of Raw if they win, and they would make sure that Edge and Snitsky were in no condition to challenge for the title. As Triple H, Batista and Ric Flair headed for the ring, Batista remarked that he couldn't wait for it to be his turn to run Raw.

Jim Ross "confirmed" that Trish Stratus had a broken nose.
Survivor Series Rules, winning team runs Raw for a month: Triple H, Batista, Gene Snitsky & Edge, with Ric Flair, vs. Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho & Maven.
Maven didn't even come out to the ring, so it looks like he is eliminated before the match even begins. Edge started off the match with Benoit, trading shots in a corner. Benoit hit a clothesline and chopped Edge to the mat. Edge rolled to the floor to regroup, but Benoit went right back at him when he returned. Edge tagged out to Snitsky, and Benoit tagged in Orton. They went nose to nose, with Orton talking trash. Snitsky shoved Orton, and Orton unloaded with punches, beating him down to the mat. Jericho tagged in and continued the assault on Snitsky, until Snistky downed him with a clothesline and tagged in Triple H. Jericho hit a back elbow thought, and tagged in Orton. Orton punched Triple H down in a corner, but Triple H caught him with a jumping knee and tagged in Batista. Batista hit some shoulderblocks in a corner, and planted him with a powerslam for two. Edge tagged in and gave Orton a elbowdrop across the back of the neck. Orton battled back with punches, but Edge hit a dropkick.
Orton came back with a clothesline and tagged Benoit, who cleaned house on everyone, including the opponents on the apron. Benoit gave Triple H a snap suplex, Batista a German suplex, and Snitsky a German suplex. Benoit gave Triple H three consecutive German suplexes. Benoit suplexed Edge on top of Triple H, then hit a top rope headbutt on Triple H and Edge. The match broke down, with fighting on the floor by other participants, while Benoit put Triple H in a Sharpshooter in the ring. Snitsky broke up the hold. Benoit put Edge in a Crippler Crossface, but Batista broke that hold up. Triple H grabbed Benoit in a Pedigree, and Edge covered Benoit for the pin at the eight minute mark. Eliminated: Chris Benoit.
Edge gave Chris Jericho a neckbreaker. Edge went for a tag, and both Snitsky and Triple H tagged in. Snitsky and Triple H argued about the tag, and Snitsky shoved Triple H. Snitsky and Batista then started arguing, while Jericho put Triple H in the Walls Of Jericho. Batista realized what was happening and broke up the hold. Orton knocked Batista into Snitsky. Jericho hit a bulldog and went for a Lionsault, but Ric Flair tripped him up. The referee ordered Flair away from ringside. Batista gave Orton and Jericho a double shoulderblock. Batista tossed Orton out, and gave Jericho a spinebuster. Orton tripped Batista from ringside and then hit him with the World Title belt. Jericho then gave Batista an enzugiri and pinned him at the eleven minute mark. Eliminated: Batista.
Jericho dropkicked Edge off the ring apron into Snitsky on the floor. Batista then clotheslined Jericho, even though he was eliminated. Snitsky tagged in off of Triple H, and stomped Jericho. Snitsky backdropped Jericho, then blatantly choked him. Snitsky tagged in Edge, who worked over Jericho in a corner. Edge elbowed Jericho in the back of the neck, hit a series of rights, then kicked away a backdrop. Jericho grabbed Edge by the neck as he charged and drove him into the mat. Snitsky tagged in and dropped an elbow on Jericho, then hit Orton on the apron. Orton ran in, but Snitsky tossed him to the floor. Triple H and Edge then attacked Orton on the floor, while in the ring, Jericho hit Snitsky with a DDT. Jericho went to his corner for a tag, but Triple H and Edge had dragged Orton to the other side of the ring.
A bloody and bandaged Maven came out and got on the apron. Jericho tagged him, and Maven unloaded on Snitsky with punches and kicks. Maven hit a running forearm on Snitsky, then slugged Triple H and Edge as well. Snitsky was busted open from Maven's shots, sporting a nasty gash next to his eye. Maven tossed Snitsky and Edge from the ring, then went after Triple H. Snitksy came in with a chair and hit Maven with it, then hit Jericho with it. Snitsky was disqualified at the twelve minute mark. Eliminated: Gene Snitsky.
Snitsky hit Orton with a chair before leaving. Triple H covered an unconscious Maven to pin him. Eliminated: Maven.
Edge covered Jericho repeatedly, but he kept kicking out. Jericho rallied, but Triple H grabbed him for a Pedigree. Jericho backdropped out of the Pedigree, but Edge hit him with a spear for the pin at the thirteen minute mark. Eliminated: Chris Jericho.
Orton crawled into the ring, as Triple H and Edge stared at him and grinned. Edge and Triple H stomped Orton down until the referee got Triple H back on the apron. Edge gave Orton a back suplex for a two count, then tagged in Triple H. Triple H worked over Orton as Edge held him up. Edge was ushered out, and Triple H decked Orton. Orton tried to rally with punches, but Triple H DDT'd him for a two count. Orton tried to rally again as Edge was tagged in, slugging both opponents. Orton powerslammed Edge. Edge charged Orton, who ducked, and Edge put on the breaks before slamming into Triple H on the apron. Orton dropkicked Edge into Triple H, and cradled him for two. Orton hit some right hands on Edge, and Triple H ran in and gave Orton a spinebuster. Triple H picked up Orton for a spear, but Orton moved and Edge speared Triple H. Orton gave Edge an RKO for the pin at the twenty three minute mark. Eliminated: Edge.
It was down to Randy Orton and Triple H. Orton set up for an RKO, but Triple H hit him with a low blow, as the referee was distracted trying to roll Edge out of the ring. Triple H set up for the Pedigree, but Orton broke out of it and grabbed an RKO for the pin at the twenty five minute mark. Eliminated: Triple H. Sole Survivor: Randy Orton.
Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Maven, and Chris Jericho will each get to control Raw for one week each, starting tomorrow night.

The entire WWE roster stands on the ramp under the TitanTron and Vince McMahon informs the crowd that Eddie Guerrero passed away at age 38 in the prime of his career and the prime of his life. Tonight, they will celebrate the life of Eddie Guerrero. Eddie Guerrero loved the business and he had a passion like no one else. He loved to perform whether he was booed or cheered. His goal was to steal the show every night. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that Eddie would not want the show to go on. Tonight, they will pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Vince asks the crowd to stand for a ten bell salute.
We go to a video package of Eddie Guerrero including footage of Eddie throughout his life with his family and other wrestlers. We see footage from Eddie's last match in ECW as well as Eddie and Chris Benoit celebrating in the ring after Wrestlemania 20. The package ends with "In Memory Eddie Guerrero 1967-2005" The crowd chants "Eddie" and Vince says "Vva la raza". The crowd then chants "Thank you Eddie".
John Cena says that you will hear things from people you like and people that you don't like. However, you will hear from everyone that Eddie Guerrero was a great man. Eddie was one of the most passionate men. Eddie helped John in the ring and as a father figure when he started and did not know anything. Eddie taught John about heart and how to find it and embrace it, good or bad. John gives his condolences to Eddie, his family, and the wrestlers who were close to him like Chavo, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, and Rey Mysterio. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Kurt Angle talks about how Eddie loves everyone and he will be missed. We go to footage from Eddie's match against Rob Van Dam at Vengeance to win the Intercontinental title.

Show and Nitro start things off and Nitro goes after Show's leg, but Show pushes him off. Show with a chop in the corner followed by another chop in the corner. Kane tags in and he Irish whips Nitro and hits a running clothesline in the corner. Kane knocks Mercury off the apron. Kane with a side slam to Nitro and then he goes up top, but Mercury pulls Kane off the top turnbuckle when Melina distracts the ref. Show chops Mercury in the ring while Nitro hits Kane with the tag belt. Nitro rolls Kane back in and gets a two count. Nitro with a neck breaker followed by a kip up and he tags in Mercury. Mercury up to the second turnbuckle for an elbow drop. Nitro tags in and then hit a double running kick on Kane and Nitro punches Kane and puts him in a front face lock. Kane tries to power his way into the corner, but Mercury and Nitro knocks Show off the apron. Mercury and Nitro try to hit a double suplex on Kane, but Kane suplexes both men. Show tags in and he Irish whips Nitro into Mercury. Show with a running splash in the corner followed by a double clothesline. Melina gets on the apron and Show kisses Melina. Mercury tries to hit Show with the belt, but the ref stops him. Kane with a clothesline from the top turnbuckle. Show and Kane with a double choke slam on Mercury and Show covers for the three count.

Lillian Garcia says that she was lucky enough to know Eddie from the beginning and had a bond and spoke Spanish together. His fondest memory was when they went to Iraq and they were in the same group going around Iraq together. She talks about the troops who were so excited to see Eddie, but Eddie was so humble and wondered why they were acting that way about him. He was thanking them for what they were doing. Lillian says something in Spanish and we go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Eric Bischoff talks about the last time that he saw Eddie and that they were at the Phoenix airport. They were talking about each other's families. Eric says that he will miss Eddie greatly and his thoughts and prayers are with Eddie's family.
William Regal says that he hopes everyone realizes that if you ever spent any time with Eddie, you have been blessed. He was a tremendous human being.

Angle with a suplex and then he gets a two count. Angle with a waist lock on Benjamin and Benjamin with elbows to escape. Angle with a knee when Benjamin comes off the ropes for a two count. Shawn Michaels says that his memories of Eddie Guerrero have nothing to with wrestling because they never met in the ring. They talked about religion. Shawn says that they will someday get to wrestle in the biggest stage of them all, in front of one person. He thanks Eddie for being there to share a common faith. He did one thing that nobody ever did in the business. He brought everyone together in prayer. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Bradshaw says that Eddie has been his enemy in the ring, but they have always been friends. His first main event was in the Staples Center against Eddie Guerrero. It was due to Eddie. There were many who thought that Bradshaw could not be a main event wrestler. Eddie went to bat for him. Eddie was a groomsman at his wedding. Eddie was there for Bradshaw during his divorce and tried to help him out. He would give Bradshaw passages from the Bible or other books to get him through it. Bradshaw says that he was a better person because of Eddie. Eddie just moved to Phoenix. Bradshaw thanks Vickie for letting Eddie being a part of his life. Bradshaw says that he would love to be able to see Eddie come out one more time in the low rider.
We see footage of the Los Guerreros vignettes and Chavo talks about how they were all supposed to be a joke. Eddie talks about how the crowd got behind it because they were honest about "lying, cheating, and stealing". We hear comments from his family about how much they enjoyed seeing Eddie do that. We even see footage of Eddie's dog cheating things.
Chavo talks about how Eddie was his uncle, but they were "brothers" since they were three years apart. Being a Guerrero was different. They had a lot of big shoes to fill. They didn't get into wrestling because it was cool on television. It was their life. They had their first match when he was four and Eddie was six or seven. During an intermission at his uncle's show in Juarez, they would wrestle in the ring. The fans would watch Eddie and Chavo in the ring until they had to stop because people would not buy anything during intermission. It was their dream to be tag team champions, and that dream came true when Vince put them together as a tag team. That was a tag team that will never be replaced. They knew what each other was thinking all the time. They did not have to work on being a tag team. Eddie will always be his brother and he loves him with all of his heart. Eddie is a great inspiration to him in all aspects of his life. Eddie has always been there to help him. Eddie will be missed tremendously. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Matt Hardy talks about how Eddie's life had come together after dealing with all of the fights he had in his life. Eddie was really happy and it is unfortunate that Eddie is gone. He was one of a kind as a person and a performer. Matt says that he misses Eddie and he will pray for Eddie's family.
Trish Stratus says that Eddie was alive when he was in the ring. It makes you think about what is important. You have to go out and do what you love to do. It puts things in perspective, and she thanks Eddie for everything he did for her.

Shawn and Rey shake hands before the match. Michaels with an arm bar and then he works on the shoulder. Rey rolls through and reverses the arm bar. Rey with a hammer lock but Michaels reverses. Rey with a side head lock take down. Shawn with a shoulder tackle. Rey with a hip toss and Michaels with a side head lock take down and Rey with a head scissors to a stand off. Michaels with a side head lock into a hammer lock. Rey takes Shawn down, but Michaels with a small package. Michaels with a side head lock take down and then he blocks a couple of head scissors attempts. Michaels with a shoulder tackle. Rey tries for a drop kick, but Michaels holds on to the ropes and then Michaels catapults Rey over the top rope. Rey lands on the apron and then hits a springboard seated senton. Michaels sends Rey to the mat chest first followed by chops to Mysterio. Rey with a kick to Michaels and that sends Shawn into the ropes. Rey sets for the 619, but Michaels moves. Rey with a pescado onto Michaels and both men are down outside the ring as we go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Rey gets up first as the ref counts. Rey rolls Michaels into the ring and he covers Michaels for a two count. Michaels with a kick to Rey and then he chops Rey in the corner. We return to USA and Michaels with a sleeper on Mysterio. Rey with an elbow and then he tries for a belly-to-back suplex, but Michaels counters with a cross body for a two count. Michaels with a chop followed by a back breaker and knees to Rey's back. Rey rolls to the apron and then to the floor. Michaels pulls Rey back into the ring and punches Rey in the back and then has Rey in a rear chin lock. Rey with an elbow to Michaels, but Shawn with an elbow as Rey comes off the ropes. Rey with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors followed by kick and a springboard cross body and kicks to Michaels' legs. Rey with the Latino shake and then he clotheslines Michaels. Batista talks about how he got a phone call telling him that Eddie was dead and it didn't seem real. They have become really close and Eddie has helped him. It amazed him because Eddie always seemed to be in pain, but when Eddie walked through the curtain it was gone. Batista says that he misses Eddie. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Christy Hemme says that she has had some touching conversations with Eddie that have meant a lot to her. His love of his WWE "family" as well as his family at home was evident.
Booker T says that their hearts go out to his family. He knows that he will Eddie again. Sharmell says that she will miss Eddie's smile the most.

Trish is able to hit a rana on Victoria. Trish and Ashley with elbows to Victoria. Christy Hemme with a rana to Melina. Mickie with a head scissors on Jillian, but Jillian sends Mickie over the top to the floor to eliminate her. Maria eliminates Jillian. Candice with a choke of Ashley in the corner. Victoria and Candice slingshot Ashley over the top rope to eliminate her. Trish chops Melina, but Melina kicks Trish. Melina and Victoria try for a double clothesline on Trish, but Trish does the Matrix. Christy clotheslines Victoria and Trish sends Melina to the apron. Melina pulls Trish onto the apron. Victoria sends Christy to the apron and Candice knocks Christy off the apron to the floor. Trish kicks Candice followed by a whirlybird head scissors that eliminates Candice. Rey Mysterio says that he knows Eddie is listening to him. He has a lot of good memories of Eddie in his heart for him and his family. For Dominick and his wife. Their families bonded. He will miss Eddie and he misses him now. He wishes it is all a dream and Eddie is still there with everyone. They all miss him and Rey says that he loves Eddie. Rey says that they will miss Eddie and he was an inspiration to everyone. He had a great presence. Rey takes off his mask to wipe away the tears as we go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Gerald Brisco says that he has known Eddie his entire life because he worked with the entire Guerrero family. They were pioneers and fighters. Eddie proved to be one of the top Latino talents in the business. Eddie was not a giant physically, but he was a giant for what he stood for. Eddie opened doors for a lot of Latino wrestlers. You did not have to be a giant to be a success in the WWE. He became a mega-superstar. He sends his condolences to Eddie's family. Eddie brightened the world and the company for being who he was. He will never be forgotten.

Simon gets a protein bar and offers it to Eugene. Eugene takes a bite and he does not like it. Dean with a rollup for a near fall and then Simon laughs at Simon. Simon does some push-ups and Eugene does some too. Simon tries for an elbow, but Eugene moves. Eugene with a series of head butts and then he bites Simon in the rear. Eugene with a monkey flip and then he goes over to the Dean Machine. Simon hits Eugene from behind and kicks Eugene before rolling Eugene into the ring. Simon punches Eugene and then has him in a neck vice. Simon slams Eugene's head into the turnbuckle, but Eugene "Hulks up" and then does the Finger Point of Doom. Eugene punches Simon and then connects with a roundhouse punch. Eugene with an airplane spin. Simon uses the power band to avoid a German suplex, but Eugene lets go and Simon is sent into the turnbuckles. Eugene with a Rock Bottom for the three count.

After the match, Eugene rides the Dean Machine to the back.
Chris Benoit says that Eddie Guerrero is his best friend. He was a beautiful person and a kind hearted person. Words cannot describe what kind of human being Eddie was. He has known Eddie for 15 years and has laughed together and cried together with Eddie. They have been together all over the world. Eddie led by example. He was the one friend Chris could go to if he was having problems or issues. He could talk to Eddie and Eddie would understand what was going on. Eddie led by example through his life and the obstacles he went through to conquer and be a better person. They never left each other without telling each other that they loved each other. Chris loved Eddie Guerrero and he loves Eddie's family. He sends his condolences to Eddie's family and says that he cannot understand what they are going through at this time. He says that Eddie is in a better place and he is looking down on Chris. Chris says that he misses Eddie. Eddie made such a great impression on his life that he wants to thank him for everything that Eddie gave him. Chris will never forget Eddie. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Ric Flair says that Eddie was very sincere and he talked from the heart. It was real when it came to Eddie Guerrero. He had the respect of everyone who touched him. You want someone to think that you were good at what you did and that you were respected when you pass away. Eddie was that type of person. His family should be proud of the person that he was. Eddie's stature will grow over time.

Triple H says that Eddie was an amazing guy. From a professional standpoint, he was one of the best. Technically in the ring he was awesome. He could do anything. He could make you laugh one second and then cry the next. He was a phenomenal talent. Personally, Eddie will always be an inspiration. Eddie had some demons, but he did a lot of searching in his life. He overcame that to become what he was. He has a beautiful family and he succeeded in life where so many others would have failed. Hunter says that he will miss Eddie. He wants Eddie's family to know how important they were to Eddie because that was all he talked about. He thinks that Eddie will be proud that everyone went out and put on a show for him. Eddie was one of the most talented guys that he knows. He would want the show to go on. He is up there, lying to someone, cheating someone, and stealing our hearts. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Teddy Long says that everyone loved Eddie. He took time to talk to the younger guys. He was a beautiful person.

We are back for our next match, Ric Flair versus William Regal Flair woooos and struts before the match begins. Flair with a wrist lock and Regal with a reversal followed by a European uppercut and forearms in the corner. Flair backs Regal into the corner and chops and punches Regal. Regal with a kick and European uppercut for a two count. Flair blocks a hip toss and counters with an abdominal stretch. Regal gets to the ropes and also unlaces Flair's boot. Regal attacks Flair and connects with a knee drop. Regal with European uppercuts and Flair does the Flair flop. Regal with a two count. Regal with a knee to Flair and a European uppercut that sends Flair over the top rope to the floor. Flair trips Regal and pulls him out of the ring. Flair chops Regal, but Regal with an Irish whip that sends Flair into the ringside barrier. Flair with an Irish whip followed by a chop. Flair clips Regal's knee twice. Flair with a figure four leg lock on Regal and Regal taps.

Stephanie McMahon says that the first time she met Eddie was at Vince's house to talk about leaving WCW to go to the WWE. She didn't know what to expect from Eddie, but he was humble, sweet, and fun loving. Eddie decided to come to the WWE. She got to work with Eddie behind the camera and he was amazing. He could give you a range of emotion. When he went out to perform, he stole your heart. He could have the audience in the palm of his hand. He loved everybody. She talked to Eddie on Friday and Eddie said that he would be the champion again and wanted Stephanie and Vince to know it. The most important thing is Eddie's family because he loved them more than anything else, especially Vickie and his daughters. They were his whole world. He was a father and a friend. He will always be a champion. We go to commercial.
On Unlimited, Shelton Benjamin says that Eddie was a phenomenal talent, but he tried to better himself every day. He did it for himself and his family. Eddie would tell Shelton that he did things for his family and he ruins it, Shelton would be in trouble. Eddie was a leader and a great man. He is thankful for the time that he was able to spend with him.

Orton tries to punch Cena, but Cena blocks him and punches Orton before Orton with a thumb to the eye. Orton with a neck breaker for a two count. Orton with a reverse chin lock on Cena and the ref checks to see if it is a choke. Cena punches Orton and goes off the ropes, but Orton with a standing drop kick. Orton with an Irish whip, but when Orton charges in the corner both men's head collide and they both go down. Cena ducks a clothesline and hits a flying shoulder tackle followed by two clotheslines, a Blue Thunder Driver, and the Five Knuckle Shuffle with a Latino flair. Cena pumps up his shoes and gets Orton up for the F-U, but Bob Orton comes in and attacks Cena from behind.
Winner: John Cena (by disqualification)
After the match, Bob and Randy punch Cena in the corner. Cena punches Bob and Randy and sends Bob out of the ring. Orton tries for an RKO, but Cena pushes Orton off and hits the F-U. Cena lays that title belt down and then takes off the Eddie Guerrero shirt he was wearing. He lays the shirt on the mat and places the belt on top as we go to credits.
2006 - After a TNA event in CT was canceled, Michael Weaver of www.wrestlingupdateonline.coma> sent along word that he received statements from Captain Jeffrey L. Blatter in regard to the cancellation of the TNA house show promoted by Hermie Sadler's UWF in Bloomfield, CT. The statement read:
"TNA's attempt to manipulate their fan base into believing the Bloomfield Police Department, or any other Town Official, was responsible for the canceling of their Saturday event is misleading and disingenuous.
TNA failed to notify the Town of their intent to hold an event, nor did they apply for the proper permits. Had TNA made the proper notifications, in a timely manner, the Town would have had the opportunity to address the public safety concerns that were identified, and the wrestling fans would have had the opportunity to enjoy the event in a safe environment. The code violations that were identified were not obscure administrative matters, but real concerns for public safety, and were in fact explained to TNA representatives.
Allowing an event to go forward in violation of known public safety hazards is a breach of our responsibility to the citizens of Bloomfield and those who visit our community. The Rhode Island Night Club tragedy is a sobering example of what can occur if this responsibility is not met."
When Weaver issued a follow up query regarding online rumors of WWE involvement (which World Wrestling Entertainment publicly denied), Blatter responded:
"After I sent my statement to you I had the opportunity to further speak with a Supervisor who was on scene. Your inquiry into Vince McMahon appears to be on target since someone at the incident alleged our actions were predicated on the behest of Vince McMahon, who, according to the individual, "owns Connecticut".
To dispel a completely false notion, Vince McMahon had no involvement in this matter, and my Supervisor had to ask who Vince McMahon was. We became aware of the event only hours before it was to be held, when the East Hartford Police Department brought our attention to the TNA Web Site, which made reference to Bloomfield.
I believe it is also appropriate to note that the Supervisor on scene was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and cooperation he received from the wrestlers and most of the event staff. He particularly noted the wrestlers desire to stay and greet their fans even after the event had to be cancelled. Had they not done so, we could have been faced with a situation that may have spiraled out of control."
2006 - Jeff Jarrett took part in a media conference call to promote TNA. Here are highlights from the call:
When asked about the stories of holding WWE up for money during his final appearance at No Mercy in 1999, Jarrett noted he was there to talk TNA business primarily. He stated it was a business situation, he wasn't under contract for the show, and they came to an agreement.
Given the anniversary of Eddie Guerrero's passing, Jarrett was asked about the drug policy with TNA. Jarrett noted that they deal directly with individuals who need help and have done so in the past. He noted that one individual openly noted that TNA worked with him on his issues. Jarrett noted that if they see a problem that needs to be policed, they will work with anyone who needs help.
Regarding a potential head to head timeslot against Monday Night Raw, Jarrett said that if it was the best decision for TNA, they would do it. He noted that Thursday is a big television viewership night and strategically, it's a good place for them. He noted it's closer to their PPV night and was a better timeslot, as opposed to an hour where many people are heading to bed.
On the possibility of the Ultimate Warrior or Bill Goldberg appearing for TNA, Jarrett said that both performers are similar in that they rose quickly to the top, made a lot of money, then backed away from the scene. Jarrett chose to simply say, "Never say never" to the idea.
Vince Russo and Jim Cornette were brought up. Jarrett said that good or bad, everyone has an opinion on Russo. He pointed out that Russo was a changed man because of his religious beliefs and while some may not understand that, Jarrett did and noted they were friends for a long time. Jarrett said that he knows Russo's strengths and weaknesses and they were going to play to his strengths. Regarding Cornette, Jarrett noted his long history dating back to his childhood with Cornette. He said that Cornette brings a wisdom to the business that can't be learned. He said that Russo and Cornette both know that business comes before ego, so they could co-exist.
When asked if Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle was the most important TNA bout ever, Jarrett said that at this point in the company's lifespan of 4 1/2 years, every PPV main event is the most important. They don't have the 20 year plus history of WWE or the territorial roots of WCW. He said that TNA is only as good as it's last show and unlike WWE, they don't have many, many years of hits to rely on, so they have to always go full throttle. Jarrett said that it will be a spectacular bout and no one expects otherwise. He said that Joe is a great example of the cream rising to the top and Joe knows the pressure is on and will perform beyond expectations because that's the type of performer he is.
When asked about criticism that the match was rushed, Jarrett pointed out that you could come up with a number of alternative storylines and ideas, but the creative side of wrestling is subjective, so there is never a 100% right or wrong answer to what direction you go in. He said that with the primetime debut, why not go with it and push it.
Regarding what one can do creatively to get out of the match without hurting either one's momentum, Jarrett remarked, "That's why you buy PPVs".
Impact's one hour product moving so fast came up, with Jarrett saying its truly "Total Nonstop Action" and they are on uncharted ground, using 4 hours of TV most months to push a 3 hour PPV. He said there is only so much time to give to talent and storylines, especially with a roster as talented and packed as the TNA wrestlers.
WWE Films was brought up. Jarrett said that they have talent that do outside projects, noting Gail Kim, Kevin Nash, and Christian Cage, among others, but TNA's focus is on professional wrestling and building the company.
Owen Hart's death and WWE's decision to continue with the live PPV was brought up. Jarrett said that no one could have known what Owen Hart would have wanted but by the same token, there was no right or wrong answer. Jarrett said that it still seems surreal years later.
The TNA cancellation in Connecticut this past Saturday were discussed. Jarrett said they are investigating what happened and in all his years in the business, he can never recall a company having two shows in two different towns shut down. Jarrett noted that someone didn't want TNA to run in Hartford and there were two different State Inspectors weekend. He said that he was in Dallas when he found out, and someone was responsible.
The James Gang promos in front of WWE HQ were mentioned. Jarrett noted that they have more to say and teased everyone to "stay tuned" to Impact.
Jarrett was asked about heat with European wrestler Joe E. Legend who has come out against him verbally in the past online. Jarrett noted that if Legend has a problem with him, Joe isn't alone. He said they have a common friend in Scott D'Amore if Joe wants to contact him.
When asked if he was surprised by the talk of WWE wrestlers wanting to jump to TNA, Jarrett joked that the media wouldn't believe the calls. He said they have a deep roster. He said Cage and Angle coming to TNA was just the start and teased more jumps could happen in the future.
Jarrett discussed Impact rating projections for the next show, claiming at the current timeslot "the average is a 1.0." He noted they are a new company and need to be realistic. He said that nothing happens overnight and they don't have the audience that WCW had cultivated over the years on Saturday nights to follow them to primetime, like Nitro did. He said they are in for an uphill fight but said the company was excited. He pointed out its going to be a tougher timeslot with competition like football and Grey's Anatomy but every time the company has made a move with their TV product, they have taken steps forward.
Jarrett was asked if the goal for the company was to be a successful second company behind WWE. Jarrett noted that you can make money and be successful at number two, but anyone who gets into the business should want to be #1 or they shouldn't be inside the business. He said they don't have the resources or roster size that WWE does, noting they are a global company with offices in multiple countries. He said TNA can be successful as a number two company but they will never stop working towards being number one.
The idea of doing combined events with MMA fights and professional wrestling matches was discussed. Jarrett noted that it happens in Japan, but the audience comparisons between the two countries are different. He said professional wrestling needs to be about capturing the emotions of the viewer with great performances and that will be what makes the wrestling business continue to evolve.
Jarrett announced TNA had "severed ties" with Monty Brown and that the company wished him well.
Jarrett teased a Scott Steiner return was in the future noting that Steiner "likes to pick his spots" and a primetime debut would be a great spot for a return.
When asked why TNA refers to WWE on the air, Jarrett said that the fans know it exist, so they can't pretend they are the only company out there.
When asked what makes a great heel and who would be the next top level heel for the company, Jarrett said you have to stay smart to the audience reactions yet true to your in-ring character. With his time away from the ring, Jarrett said that the floor is wide open for someone to earn that spot. He praised LAX for being such a cutting edge act. He said that whether it's Joe or Abyss or Angle, the roster is so deep that is could be anyone.
The idea of Chris Jericho being signed was mentioned. Jarrett praised Jericho as a person and performer. He said Jericho is young and has been smart with his money, so when he returns to wrestling, it will be because Jericho is excited about wrestling and wants back in. He said Jericho wouldn't be the type to return just for more paydays.
The origin of "Slapnuts" was questioned. Jarrett said that his grandmother, who worked in all facets of the business behind the scenes, used to call people "Slappies" and it came from there. He noted the first person he referred to by that term on camera was Mike Tenay.
The early days of the company and it's growth was asked about. Jarrett said that he can remember the night they opened in June like it was yesterday. Like any other start-up company, it wasn't easy. The fact they are going to be on primetime in under five years is impressive and gratifying to him. He praised the work ethic of everyone in the company saying they are working hard without the huge staff that WWE has. He said that they are the only other global company beyond WWE and there are negotiations going on for a unique way of marketing, touring, and expanding internationally that has never been seen in the business before. He said it's been tough but they are lucky,
TNA licensing was discussed. Jarrett plugged their CD coming out, noted they have a great partner with Marvel for action figures and the Midway video game would be out towards the end of 2007. He said they would hopefully take TV on the road within the next 12-36 months, with Thursday being a big step for that direction.
Criticism of Jarrett by Internet fans for his position in the company was mentioned. Jarrett said that you needed to have tough skin in the business and the bottom line is that this Thursday, the company debuts in primetime. He said the fact that fans will go on their computer and be passionate enough to write about him and others is one of the things that makes the business unique and everyone wants to play booker. He says its one of the things that makes wrestling different.
Impact being live. Jarrett said they would undoubtedly benefit from that, as Nitro always did. He said if you put a football game on tape delay, the ratings would suffer. He noted that it would help them but by the same token, their post-production is a positive for Impact so you have to look at it from both sides of the coin and turn your weaknesses into positives.
The worst thing about TNA was the Dupp Cupp, but Jarrett said you sometimes have to try ideas out, no matter how bad they turn out.
When asked about his personal issues at home, Jay Hassman (who the company had a lawsuit against at one point), and his father's status with TNA after appearing on WWE.com, Jarrett declined comment.
The prospect of Lita moving to TNA was mentioned. Jarrett said he didn't know what her status was physically and whether it was an option. He put over the things that woman can add to professional wrestling as a product but noted that the physicality can be hard on them.
There were talks a few months back with Daniel Puder. Jarrett said that he and Kurt Angle have been having a war of the words lately and Bubba (the Love Sponge) was smart to get so much mileage out of it, saying Bubba learned the business from a master (Hulk Hogan).
When asked what it was like working with Dixie, he put her over for succeeding in what is traditionally a man's business. He noted that she was successful at public relations and marketing, and while the transition to wrestling is not easy, she has passion for the company and it's been proven.
When the future of NWA champion Sting was asked about, Jarrett noted the great condition he was in at Bound for Glory, saying he took his game to a new level and is motivated. Jarrett said there were discussions ongoing but wouldn't go into specifics.
When asked about a potential TNA developmental program, Jarrett said that it would be the right thing for them as they grow, but they have to take things a step at a time. They are a small company while their competitor has more people working on its Internet site than TNA has working in their entire office. He said having a developmental program as well as a wrestling school were a must for the future, but right now, they had to concentrate on growing the company.
The aborted Hulk Hogan angle from Japan was mentioned, with Jarrett noting that Hogan's health issues kept that from taking place. He believed Hogan signed a 20 year deal, so he'd be pushing 70 when that was done, although he then noted that because of the name, fans would still be interested in seeing Hogan at that age.

2007 - Anthony Forgione, whose Florida-based Infinity Longevity wellness clinic had been tied with providing steroids to the late former WWE and WCW World champion Chris Benoit, was arrested in a raid on his home as part of an ongoing investigation into a steroid distribution ring by New York State prosecutors. Forgione was extradited to New York State shortly to face federal charges. Forgione was found with a loaded handgun and a doctored NYPD retirement badge when he was arrested. Forgione was a former police officer in Suffolk County prior to moving to Florida, where he was fired as an officer in April 2003 for allegedly using anabolic steroids. Investigators believed, based on wiretapped phone conversations that Infinity had a relationship with online pharmacy Signature to steer clients towards the other. Prosecutors learned a number of WWE performers were receiving shipments from Signature, which led to ten WWE suspensions once prosecutors made World Wrestling Entertainment officials aware of the situation.
2007 - World Wrestling Entertainment published the following quote from CNN's Director of Public Relations, Jennifer Dargan, on the WWE website in regard to John Cena's request for an apology regarding his comments on whether he had taken steroids being taken out of context:
"CNN felt that Mr. Cena's statement in the interview: "My answer to that question 'have you ever used steroids' is -- the only thing I can say -- I can't tell you that I haven't, but you'll never be able to prove that I have" was a more expansive and complete answer -- and that's why we used it in the first run of the program. And we stand by that decision. But, we added the other quote on the Sunday replay where Mr. Cena first denied using steroids. We did this because of his complaint and the attention it received so that viewers could see how he said it both times."
2008 - NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood held their first ever TV Taping at CBS Columbia Square Studios.

*Brent Albright defeated Jeff McAlister.
*Trevor Murdoch & Lance Cade defeated Los Luchas in a match that was the start of a five team round robin tournament to crown top contenders to the NWA Tag Team championship.
*NWA champion Blue Demon Jr. was officially awarded the black strap NWA championship with the NWA retiring the red strap belt. Brent Albright came out and challenged Demon to a title match, which Demon accepted. Both men played babyface and showed respect for each other.
*Chase Patrick defeated Tito Aquino.
*NWA North American champion "The Legacy" Mike DiBiase defeated JJ Perez.
*Dave Marquez was interrupted by Native Blood, who do a gimmick that they are a team of Native Americans rich off their Indian Casino with the tag line that they are taking back America "one dollar at a time." They entered the round robin tournament.
*The Young Bucks defeated Los Luchas.
*NWA champion Blue Demon Jr. defeated Oliver John.
*There was a six way match involving Chase Patrick, Shane Haste, Ricky Mandell, Derrick Jannetty, Sidareal and Paul Diamond (not the former AWA star) - haven't heard a result.
*TJ Perkins defeated JJ Perez.
*Brent Albright announced his tag team partner "next week" would be Bryan Danielson.
*Bryan Danielson defeated Cassidy O'Brien.
*Native Blood defeated Los Luchas.
Notes: The first night of the taping drew an estimated 150-200 fans for the free event....Commentary was handled by Tom Kenely (the ring announcer on Celebrity Championship Wrestling) and former Southern California indy wrestler Phil Lander....Dave Marquez handled post-match interviews....I was told the set for the show looks really good and if you grew up on the studio wrestling days of WTBS, you'll easily know the inspiration for the look and style of the show, right down to no barricades between the ring and the crowd....Former WWE Creative team member Dave Lagana was at the taping visiting.

2009 - WWE Hall of Famer Greg Valentine, using the name Gregory Lee, filed a lawsuit against suing longtime area independent promotion Windy City Pro Wrestling, claiming that he was injured on their 7/10/10 event in Bridgeview, IL at Toyota Park when stairs leading to the ring collapsed, causing him to fall and be injured. Valentine also sued the Village of Bridgeview, claiming that it helped in the construction of the stairs and the "catwalk" leading to them.
2009 - WWE ran Dublin, Ireland. Matthew filed the following live report:
I attended the Smackdown & ECW in The O2 last night. It was a fantastic show with a great atmosphere. I had front row seats and it was amazing to be that close to the action.
Intercontinental Championship: John Morrison vs. Matt Hardy
This was a
great match-up with both men pulling out every move in their arsenal. Plenty of
counters and near falls, with match kicking out of the moonlight drive. Morrison
won when he hit the Starship Pain after Hardy hit the ring post. The crowd was
firmly behind Morrison during the match. After the match they shook hands only
for Hardy to nail Morrison with a Twist of Fate, which drew huge heat. Great
match.
Shelton Benjamin vs. Zack Ryder
Decent match, Ryder got good
heat. Ryder hit a nice missile dropkick & his leg lariat. Shelton is super
athletic in person. He won after suplex off the top and Paydirt.

McIntyre vs. Finlay
McIntyre came out to big heat and took his time milking
it. He then cut a promo talking about how the tour never went to Scotland and he
whinced about being in Ireland. There's was one Scottish guy behind me that
tried to get a Scotland chant going but it didn't work. When Finlay came out the
roof near came off the place. It was amazing. Pretty good match, McIntyre tried
to use the shillelagh and ended up winning with his feet on the ropes. Finlay
then stayed around ringside and even clunked Chimel in the head with the
shillelagh.
Katie Lea & Mickie James vs. Michellle McCool & Beth
Phoenix.
These girls are gorgeous in real life. A lot of " Beth" chants, some
guys were shouting at Katie, saying your brother's a pirate. Usual divas match,
Katie rolled Michelle up for the win. Mickie looked to have hurt her leg during
the match.
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Goldust
Goldust got a good response,
myself and a few others were shouting Black Reign at him. Zeke is huge in
real life, Zeke won after his Rock B like move.
Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph
Ziggler
Excellent match. Ziggler has so much charisma, he was awesome, Rey
obviously got a huge response and took his time coming to the ring. Great match
with both men hitting all their big moves, including Rey nailing a seated senton
off the apron right in front of me. Rey won after a 619 and splash.
Intermission
ECW Championship
Christian vs. William Regal
Regal got huge heat mainly
because he is English, Christian got a massive response and he loved it. He
played with the crowd and raised the camera mans arm to get a better response
than Regal. The match was fairly short but still good, Christian won with the
killswitch.
R-Truth vs. Eric Escobar
Not many people knew who Escobar
was. Truth sang his way to the ring and was over. He danced for a while and
rolled Eric up to win in about 5 seconds, Truth danced with Chimel before he
left. By the way between matches their were a lot of Tony chants for Chimel
coming from one section . Hilarious. Scott Armstrong got some chants and high-
fived fans a round ringside. I was shouting Road Dogg at him to no response.
World Heavyweight Championship Casket Match
Undertaker vs. CM Punk
Punk
got a very good reaction coming out. As the lights went out Punk beat the hell
out of Chimel thinking it was Taker. Taker's entrance was electric and something
everyone should see in person. AWESOME. The match was short but good. Taker
nailed a leg drop on the casket and Punk fell on it similarly to when HBK hurt
his back in 1998. Punk used a chair. Taker won after a tombstone. The
Deadman celebrated with the gold and left. Charles Robinson immediately began
taking the ring apart. Fantastic show. There's nothing like sitting front
row at WWE live.
2010 - World Wrestling Entertainment released developmental talents Ron Myers, Cable Jones, Fahd Rakman, Rhys Ali, Devin Allen and referee Dan Skyler.
