1964 - Lord James Blears & Neff Maivia defeat Mr. Moto & Nikita Mulkovich for the NWA Hawaii Tag Team Title in Honolulu, starting the fourth run with the belts for Blears & Maivia.

1976 - Tiger Jeet Singh defeats Seiji Sakaguchi to become the first NWF Asian Heavyweight Champion (a New Japan title) in Osaka, Japan. Tiger, never fond of doing jobs, would hold the belt until 1981, when he jumped to All Japan Pro Wrestling.

1977 - Ric Flair defeats Bobo Brazil in Richmond, Virginia to win the NWA United States Championship for the first time in his career.

1980 - Bill Dundee defeats Paul Ellering for the Southern Heavyweight Title in Louisville, Kentucky, starting his second reign with the belt.

1985 - Jerry Lawler defeats Bota The Witchdoctor in Memphis, Tennessee for the Southern Heavyweight Title. This would start title reign number twenty-four with this particular title for "The King".

1988 - Stan Hansen & Terry Gordy defeat Jumbo Tsuruta & Yoshiaki Yatsu in Takasaki, Japan to win the All Japan Tag Team Championship (PWF World & NWA International Titles).

1988 - Yoshihiro Asai defeats Ray Richard in Mexico City, Mexico for the UWA World Welterweight Title. Asai would go on to become better known as Ultimo Dragon.

1989 - Super Medic I defeats Chicky Starr for the WWC World Junior Heavyweight Title in Caguas, Puerto Rico, ending Starr's third run with the belt.

1991 - Awesome Kong defeats Jerry Lawler for the USWA Unified World Title in Memphis, Tennessee, ending Lawler's eighth run with the belt.

2007 - Pro wrestling legend Karl "Gotch" Istaz passed away in Florida at age 82. He was looked at as one of the toughest men in the world when he was active, and was revered in Japan.
