1998 - Sumie Sakai defeats The Bloody for the Jd' Junior Title in Tokyo,
Japan, ending Bloody's second reign.
1999 - The WWF taped its first episode of "SmackDown!" at Kemper
Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. There had been a prior special "SmackDown!"
which aired on April 29, but this was the first episode of the series. This
was also the WWF's first event in Kemper Arena since Owen Hart's death at
May 23's "Over the Edge". "SmackDown!" aired on UPN on
August 26, and got a 5.7 rating. The results were:

2002 - El Lobo defeats Chicano to win the IWA Intercontinental Heavyweight
Title in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, to begin his second reign. At the same
event, Kevin Kelly (Nailz) defeats Huracán Castillo for the IWA World
Hardcore Title, ending Castillo's ninth reign. Kelly lost the title right
back to Castillo, to begin his 10th reign.
2003 - WWE held its 16th-annual "SummerSlam" pay-per-view before
17,113 fans at Phoenix, Arizona's America West Arena. The show got a 0.94
buyrate. The results were:
Sunday Night Heat matches:
- Matt Hardy defeated Zach Gowen by forfeit, due to injuries to Gowen caused
by Brock Lesnar a few days earlier on "SmackDown!".
- WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio pinned Shannon Moore with the West
Coast Pop to retain the title.
Pay-per-view matches:
- World Tag Team Champions La Résistance (René Duprée and Sylvain Grenier)
defeated The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von (with Spike)) to retain the
title. Duprée pinned D-Von after a ringside photographer hit D-Von with his
camera. The cameraman was revealed to be the newly-debuted Rob Conway.
- The Undertaker pinned A-Train (with Sable) after a chokeslam.
- Shane McMahon pinned Eric Bischoff in a No Disqualification Falls Count
Anywhere match after a flying elbowdrop through the Spanish announce table.
- WWE United States Champion Eddie Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit, Rhyno and
Tajiri in a Fatal Four-Way match, by pinning Rhyno after a frog splash to
the back. to retain the title.
- WWE Champion Kurt Angle defeated Brock Lesnar by submission with the ankle
lock to retain the title.
- Kane pinned Rob Van Dam in a No Holds Barred match after a tombstone
piledriver on the ring steps.
- World Heavyweight Champion Triple H defeated Goldberg, Chris Jericho,
Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Randy Orton in an Elimination Chamber match
to retain the title. Jericho pinned Nash with a roll-up after Sweet Chin
Music from Michaels. Goldberg pinned Orton after a spear. Goldberg pinned
Michaels after a spear and Jackhammer. Goldberg pinned Jericho after a spear
and Jackhammer, following a spear through the plexiglass exterior of one of
the internal chambers. Triple H pinned Goldberg after hitting him in the
head with a sledgehammer.
2003 - Jaime Koeppe was crowned the winner of the first WWE Diva Search
contest, which was held on the WWE's website. Unlike in future years, the
winner was featured in a photo spread in WWE Magazine rather than winning a
WWE contract.
2003 - The very first "Ballpark Brawl" event was held at Dunn Tire
Park in Buffalo, New York. The results:
- Little Louie defeated King Sleazy.
- A.J. Styles defeated Kid Kash.
- Trinity defeated Traci Brooks.
- Jimmy Snuka defeated Nikolai Volkoff.
- Disco Inferno defeated Norman Smiley.

Deathmatch Heavyweight Title.
2003 - Atlantis defeats Kendo Kashin to win Michinoku Pro Wrestling's Masked
Man League tournament.
2003 - Cerebro Negro defeats Fantasy in Naucalpan, Mexico for the IWRG
Intercontinental Welterweight Title, to begin his second reign.
2003 - Mr. Excellent defeats The Dragon for the Italian Championship
Wrestling Northern Title at "La Legge Del Più Forte" in Gabicce
Mare, Italy.
2003 - Bjørn Sem defeats Byron Lawless for the Norwegian Wrestling
Federation Heavyweight Title in Oslo, Norway.
2005 - Osamu Namiguchi defeats Filoso in Nagano, Japan to win the Pro
Wrestling ZERO1-MAX version of the WWA World Junior Light Heavyweight Title.
2007 - The "NWA Pro Wrestling Summit" is held at the Orleans Arena
in Las Vegas, Nevada. The results were:
- Human Tornado and Babi Slymm defeated Mikey Nicholls and T.J. Perkins.
- Incognito and Sicodelico, Jr. defeated Hardkore, Inc. (Aaron Aguilera and
Al Katrazz).
- Damien Wayne defeated NWA North American Heavyweight Champion Dru Onyx to
win the title.
- The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) defeated Rob Conway and Peter
Goodman (with Andrew Hellman).
- Cassandro defeated Cobra II.
- NWA World Tag Team Champions The Real American Heroes (Karl Anderson and
Joey Ryan (with C. Edward Vander Pyle)) defeated Los Luchas (Phoenix Star
and Zokre) in a Steel Cage match to retain the title.
- Ricky Vega defeated Cassidy O'Brien.

Kentucky. The results were:
- The Next Generation Hart Foundation (Teddy Hart and Harry Smith (with
Nattie Neidhart)) defeated Ramón Loco and Mr. Strongko.
- OVW Women's Champion ODB defeated Katie Lea to retain the title.
- Vladimir Kozlov defeated Johnny Jeter.
- Colt Cabana defeated OVW Television Champion Shawn Spears in a
Best-of-Three Falls match, 2-1. However, due to Cabana winning one fall by
countout, Spears retained the title.
- The James Boys (K.C. and Kassidy) defeated OVW Southern Tag Team Champions
Chris Cage (subbing for T.J. Dalton) and Jamin Olivencia to win the title,
beginning their third reign.
- OVW Heavyweight Champion Michael W. Kruel defeated Eugene to retain the
title.
2007 - Cremator defeats champion Scotty Mac and Moondog Manson in a
three-way match in Surrey, British Columbia to win the NWA Pacific Northwest
Hardcore Title.
2007 - Aggravated Assault (Malice and Mayhem) defeated TNT (Johnny Dynamite
and Brandon Nitro) in a Tables match in Covina, California at "No
Excuses" for the Empire Wrestling Federation Tag Team Title.
